Now that the plan had been set in motion, he wondered if he could really follow up the claim that he could in fact produce the wave big enough to knock Cerebro off. After all, the wave would have to travel from eastern Europe to U.S. He turned to Apparatus and smiled, "I am glad to hear that. After you are done, I guess you would need to tell me what kind of power we would need to do this successfully. Good luck to us..."
He just remembered something he wanted to ask Jake and turned towards Jake, walking away, "Jake, would you happen to have someone in this group that can probably tell us when Xavier is using it. I thought might as well do as much damage to the X-Men as we can... while we have the means to do it." He smiled knowing Jake was smart enough to know what hew as planning. If everything went according to plan, Xavier would cease to be a problem forever. "Take out the commander and the war has been won...", he added quoting something he remembered reading.
"Oh, I think its time we visit our friend from the subway station... and Druid too. I am just concerned about how she is doing with Nightshade. Then we can go see how the work is going...", he said waiting to see if Jake would agree with his plan.

Jake thought about it for a moment. "Nightshade -- the woman I sent to help Druid -- has some useful skills that might allow us to determine who's using Cerebro at what time," he finally said. "But we might need to modify the dish even further to allow her to use those abilities through it. Her brother -- Fulcrum -- can absorb energy, if we hit him with a high enough concentration of it he might be able to provide enough power for both of you to do what needs to be done."
He nodded when Norton suggested that they stop in to check on Dack and Druid. "Which one did you want to visit first?" he asked. "Sickbay's in one direction, Lost & Found's in another."
(OOC: Sickbay is Dack's current location, and Lost & Found is where Druid is. I'll try and make another post with Nightshade for Druid to respond to before I leave... have to go out of town Friday, and likely won't be back online till Tuesday.)

(( Ok, this is so swytch doesn't get bored while you are away... and I don't either ))
He thought for a while then spoke, "Lets split up I guess. I think I can find my way around now and I will contact you if anything comes up." He then turned to go towards Lost and Found. It took him some time but he found the right room eventually. He peeked in and entered as he saw Druid sitting on a pile of clothes, dressed in a black dress, looking a lot different, a lot cleaner than she did in the rags. He also saw Nightshade with her back turned to the door.
He entered quietly and spoke suddenly, "Thank you. You seem to have got along well with Druid. Has she been troubling you too much?" He then turned to Druid and smiled as he spoke, "You look very nice in the dress. This is Night-Shade..." He pointed at the woman searching through the pile of clothes.

*okie, i re-read a few times and guess not... it seemed somewhat implied that she was going to leave the first time I read it (that being a few days ago). now then...*
Her attention turned to Norton as soon as he entered the room, her passive face brightening almost instantly upon seeing him. When he started talking, she listened, and once he finished, she practiced mouthing the word- no, it was that lady's word, not just a word. She was still new to this word business, but she was slowly grasping the concepts, at least. Still, Druid was becoming rather annoyed at being the only one unable to understand what these people were saying for the most part...
Beyond that, she whacked out a few wrinkles from her dress to keep it pretty, and then began digging some more. Maybe there was something second-choice in here, because the dress was getting itchy, and it really was a bit more extravagant than what she liked. On top of the whole day making her tired, now she had set herself to find something else that fit just right. This could take a bit...

"No, she's no trouble," Nightshade replied, turning to face Norton. She was holding a green dress in her hands. "We're having fun... I think. It's hard to tell with her, because she doesn't talk much." She held the green dress out in front of Druid, squinted, and said, "That might be an option. It's more your color, anyway." She handed the dress to Druid in case she wanted to try it on. She could even try it on now, if she wanted -- there was a full-length antique mirror, one of the two-sided ones that you can flip, standing in the corner, and it was tall enough that Druid could completely disappear behind it if she didn't want to change right there in front of Norton.
(OOC: Since I'm going out of town, I'll hold up Jake's arrival at Dack's location... Saturn's not been posting lately anyway. You guys should probably exclude Nightshade from your conversation as much as possible.)

*you could always have her leave the room, dorkish and Druid isn't naked, just fyi; her 'parts' are naturally covered over* Druid nabbed the new skirt no sooner than her eyes laid upon it. Cooing childishly, she examined the find; it was plain, simple, and perfectly her size. Without even thinking much of it, she pulled the black dress off and laid it aside, slipping into the green dress which almost blended into the other greenery on her. It was cozy and well-worn, along with fitting her perfectly so she didn't have to distribute her body as such. A bit loose at first, but when she reversed what she'd done before, it was filled in perfectly. Looking away for a moment, she used the nearby dresser as a crutch to stand with. Her feet were uneasy beneath her at first, but soon Druid was walking about like a little girl, flattening the skirt against her body as best she could. Satisfied, she looked at the reflecting thingy and bounced excitedly at seeing herself look so pretty. She quickly hugged the Night lady, who was surprisingly squishy for being so big in some areas, and then totted over to Norton, looking up at him with longing eyes as she held herself close to him, cooing happily in the only way she really knew how...

(( That seemed a bit random but ok, I will play along... )) Norton was relieved to see that he was wrong to be concerned that she was react with hostility towards unknown people, like she had in the tunnel. He was suddenly reminded that he needed to check her for what he suspected was the reason for the outburst. He remembered seeing something that could help him test his suspicion of an electronic processor of memory chip of some kind installed in the brain and see if he had damaged it. He stroked Druid hair and felt some leaves stuck in it. He smiled at her and said, "I am a bit worried, about you druid... ", he said using his hands to make it clear who he was referencing to just in case she had problem understanding that. He continued, "I want to see if I did something bad to you in the tunnel. Will you let me take a closer look at you?", he asked. It might be bad if he took her there and it came as a shock to her what he wanted to do. Better prepare her before proceeding he thought. "You can trust me...", he added, quite sure she hadn't understood what he was asking.

(Sorry, guys. I try to get on as much as I can. I'll post more often. Don't want to hold up the story.)
Dack was in the infirmary, he pretty much guessed that and now he was calmer and more rational. Something was going on, he didn't know what, but something big. He could feel it in the air.
Already he was feeling better, his own electrical abilities comign back slowly. However, he was more concerned about the X-Men. Whoever, these people were, he owed them something and maybe they could help him find the ones who would shape the future.
He stood up again and stretched, sending electrical currents in a and around his body.....

Despite her apparent naivety, Druid had an idea of what Norton was telling her just from his face and how he was speaking. Her response was to cuddle closer and coo in a low tone, since she didn’t know exactly what to say anyhow. Besides, how could she not trust him? He was the first person she’d met, and the one who had helped awaken her earlier. Really, though, what Druid wanted was sleep; yawning wide, she hoped that was very apparent now, because otherwise there could be some trouble on the way…

He hesitated, wondering whether to take her to sleep or get this scan done first. He thought it shouldn't take long and she could sleep while he looked at the modifications with Apparatus later. He held her hand and spoke, "I would take that as a 'Yes'..." He guided her back to where he had come from and fortunately found the lab empty. It seemed Apparatus had already gone to work outside.
He guided her to a flat table and helped her get on it since it was elevated enough to come to her shoulders. "Now stay still...", he said smiling, "... this wont take long." He made sure she was in the right position and looked at the console for a few seconds. He then pressed a few buttons and the machine hummed to life. He kept hold of one of her hands from the sides just to make sure she is comforted enough not to move.
Once the scan of her head was complete, he smiled at her again and spoke, "Thats it. Let me take a look ok?" Without waiting for an answer he turned to the screen and almost fell out of his seat from shock. What he saw there didn't belong in a normal human being.

And with good reason; parts of what had been Druid's brain were replaced with silicon components. An organic microprocessor the size of a thumb was attached to her cerebral cortex, and several other sections had less-than-organic parts seemingly plastered onto them. Liquid gold connectors ran between all the parts, so that she would be free to twist and contort herself as much as possible without breaking the bonds. Of course, now some of these connections had been broken because of the electrical interference that had happened earlier, so some parts weren't working. With some skilled hands, all of the silicon parts could conceivably be removed; however, permanent brain damage could be the end result if even a single slip were to occur. And since the components ran off her body's natural electrical current via the nervous system, that could be altered as well.
On top of all that, these parts were connected to various other pieces about her body, including her eyes and the vines that she produced. All of this was delicately balanced; if the components from her brain were removed, the poisonous liquid she produced now could backfire, killing her in the long run, or her eyes could stop functioning altogether. Much risk would be involved were one to wish to change her back to her unmodified self...
Druid whined a bit, but the machine wasn't as scary as it looked. In fact, she barely felt anything, except for a small tingling. So when Norton abruptly exasperated at... something... she took notice. Was he hurt by this thing he was using? Had she squeezed her hand too hard? Suddenly, she was more worried about him than sleeping or anything else for that matter. Druid gave a small questioning whine as she sat up, looking at him longingly. She didn't want him hurt or anything, and at the same time she also knew he wanted the same thing for her as well...

He looked back in shock at the girl. He looked into her eyes and wondered what she had gone through to be transformed into this. How could someone do this to her? His eyes carried concern for he could easily make out that something had been damaged. He felt guilty for harming her, probably permanently. Who knew what effect it had had on her or how she might be affected in the future.
Then his guilt and his concern turned into anger. He had never been good at hiding feelings, and his eyes would have showed it to her anyway. She had been looking at him innocently and with concern. He looked away. Whoever had done this to her, he would suffer before he dies.
He calmed himself down and looked back and smiled at her. He took a printout of the result and kept it in his pocket. He would have to show it to the others later. He went close to her and took her hand, holding it for some time before speaking, "Let find you a nice bed to sleep in..."

Druid cowered when she saw the changes going through Norton. The hatred he displayed was like an invisible brick wall that she'd just ran into, and it scared her. Apparently unbeknown to him, his clenched fist had started vibrating extremely fast for a moment, almost at the same frequency as the stuff inside her head, which really began to make her head hurt really bad, practically at a migraine level.
When Norton grasped her hand, surely he could feel the trembling in her body as he did so, the fear inside her making her recoil at the action at first. She didn't want him hurting her, but she soon realized that he wasn't angry at her. Her head came to rest upon his arm, a worried coo escaping her as she endured the *hopefully* temporary pain for now. When he talked about sleep, another yawn escaped her, and she got her hand free to hold her arms, wanting to be carried rather than walked to wherever they were going...

He paused when he felt her react in an unexpected way to his touch. He stopped smiling as he realized his hand was coming out of the blur it had been in. He didn't know how it had affected her but from the way she recoiled at his touch and her trembling, he could guess. He was surprised to see her handling it. Till now she had acted rather the way a child would, in the most basic of emotions and reactions. This was the first time she had shown resilience and tolerance, something that he felt were signs of her mind maturing or at least, remembering how things were supposed to be.
He gladly picked up the girl who had yawned yet again to show her intentions to sleep. He realized that even though she had slept before, he had no way of knowing how exhausted she had been when he had found her. He started walking down the hallway, not really knowing where to go for the sleeping quarters. He regretted not having taken a proper tour of the place. He went back to the only place he knew she had a comfortable place to sleep, the library. Fortunately for him, he entered a corridor with serial marked room. He checked a few doors and found one empty, which meant with no personal effects lying around.
He walked into the room and closed the door behind him with his leg. He set the girl down on the cleaning made bed and sat down in the chair in front of her, the exhaustion from the day finally beginning to set in. He smiled and asked, "Would you like some food, or water?"
