He looked at Druid again as he heard her whine. She had grown a bit taller. At this rate, she would grow to a normal height for her age... suddenly Norton realized he had no idea how old she was. He wondered if that necklace she wore had more information about her. He would ask her once they were outside. He smiled and started walking towards where she was.

*filler! XD*
Turning back into the hall, Druid sat down, playing with her vines as she waited. In the light, the castle looked even more ominous than the night before, almost as if something had lived here that was so evil its irradiated madness had worn off on the rest of the castle. It just... didn't feel comfortable, like that room had, forgiving the dark Gothic style of everything in it. She just ignored it all, tinkering with her vines, trying to figure out more creative things to do with them.
And as what happens when kids play, they inevitably hurt themselves at some point; the shriek of surprise she gave off when she accidentally stabbed herself could be easily heard in the room behind her. In fact, she hadn't just stabbed herself; her hand was fully impaled by one vine, and tears rolled down her cheeks as she tried to pull the thing out in vain. Oddly, nothing hurt too horribly, nor was the wound bleeding badly, Druid had just been surprised so badly by the event that she reacted the only way she knew how...
After a moment, when she had calmed down somewhat, she managed to pull the sticky vine out, and decided that fooling around wasn't helping. So instead, she sat in silence, hoping no one would come asking what she'd just done or what had happened. She also hid the hand, hoping it wouldn't bleed out too badly, even though it had started clotting the instant the sap had kissed open air...

Druid had just come in view when he saw her thrust a knife like vine through her other arm. He was about to move forward to help but didn't. Against his own wish to help her out, he stopped at the corner in the hallway and waited as he saw her free her hand eventually. He wanted to see her figure herself out on her own, he would only help when he could or she absolutely required it. This was one of the times when he could have done nothing more than to get her even more dependent on him.
He walked towards her once she had recovered. He smiled and peeked behind her, where she had hidden her hand and said, "Make sure someone is around before you try doing things with your powers ok? Come on, lets go..." He took her other hand and walked with her outside. Thankfully there was sun out, shining brightly with only a few clouds in the sky. He smiled at her and let go of her hand and took a few steps back, crossing his hands in front of his chest and watched.

*ok, fine... i'm only doing this to keep things going, though -.-" *
Released of the grasp from the one she considered her protector, Druid looked puzzled for a moment, then simply sat down. She somewhat got the idea, but she was still trying to figure out what to do with herself at the moment. Concentrating upon making those vines grow again, this time she aimed them away from her, scared about repeating what she'd done earlier. Actually, she aimed them at the ground, burrowing deep as she explored the world beneath her.
Once Druid believed she had gone far enough, she tried the separation trick that had been done successfully earlier. Once more, her hand easily separated from what were now the severed roots. The pieces stuck in the ground sat there silently, like spiderwebs anchored in the ground rather than just to it, and would most certainly give more than one of whatever few passersby a frightful and confusing trip. But she thought nothing of it for now, only about how strange it all must look to someone who didn't understand what was going on.
The sun propelling her growth, she found that everything about her changed. Even the stunted rate at which she had been maturing was completely reversed, and her body developed faster than she could have ever imagined before. Now, if only her mental state would be as easy to fix; spending most of your life as a science experiment had a devolving effect upon the mind, and until now she couldn't even recall having been taught to speak, let alone read or write or complete even the most basic of mathematical equations. For her, everything about her was new and wondrous, and the horrible memories she had of her past were just that: simple nightmares. How long it would stay that way, no one could say...

Norton saw her with fascination for a while and then towards the castle to see where the work on the dishes was being done right now. A low distant hum forced him to turn back and look over the treeline past Druid who still seemed busy with testing out her powers. His eyes narrowed and then widened as he recognized the ship that was now hovering over Druid, blocking out the sun. How the hell did they get so close with any detection, he thought to himself. He spoke into the communicator, "X-Men jet in front. Do you by any chance have a huge cannon somewhere in there. If you do, I would use it... right now!"
He turned to Druid and motioned with his hand and shouted with urgency, "Druid! Come back, fast!"
((The heck with the peace, lets play ^_^))

*yes. lets, since pinta seems intent upon loitering ^-^*
Druid looked up, confused profusely about what all the ruckus was about. It didn't take her long after to catch on, but she was somewhat stuck in the ground at the moment... Moving quickly, she had to resort to breaking off the roots that held her fast to the ground, a motion that was painful and sticky, but if Norton wanted her to come with that much need, she wouldn't waste any time at all, knowing what had happened not a day or two before.
Abruptly, something thumped hard into the ground behind her, throwing her off her feet into an awkward tumble. However, she recovered fast, and scrambled to her feet as the huge, black hawk-like thing closed in behind her. She was close now, but time slowed in an instant as she saw something pass her by in the blink of an eye, hammering the ground directly in front of her, and exploded.
Bright light radiated forth for a split second as choking smoke assaulted the young woman's body, tossing her back a few feet from a standstill. Her ears rang, her vision was washed out, and the smoke or whatever it was burned her lungs. In her pain and confusion, she screamed.

((Enough wait!))
He looked up just in time to see a projectile of some kind heading towards him. He put up his hand to try and stop it. Only then he realized that if it burst in the air, Druid might get hurt and who knew what this thing was. Thankfully if was not a frag grenade but rather just a percussion grenade. The initial impact knocked back Druid and the smoke filled the hair around them both but the rest of the shockwave that was to daze them got cancelled out by his own blast of sonics. He coughed and called out in the smoke, "Druid!"

*concussion, not percussion hurts but no kill* Druid did the only thing she could do at the moment, with the tear gas choking her lungs and stinging seemingly everything; she picked up and ran towards the voice she heard, air rushing past her as she pushed her as fast as she could. Blind, she ran straight into Norton, quickly picking her senses- as well as herself- up as she rushed around behind him, crying profusely in waves of shivers. She didn't know what was going on, but she didn't care either; Druid was scared, exhausted, and blind, in no shape to fight back or run much further. She wanted away from here, and for people to stop being so mean to her and Norton...

*Bah! Same difference!*
Norton was in a better state since he had been able to push the gas away from him, and unfortunately all towards Druid when he had made the grenade explode before it was supposed to. He was glad Druid made it to him. He raised a hand and closed his fist making an audible thump. The smoke separated immediately, dispersing further into the wind, letting him see what was in front of them. The jet had landed sometime during the confusion and the doors were already open. Walking right in front of the X-Men stood Cyclops, the one he could not defend Druid and himself against using his powers, not yet anyway.
"Stay close to me Druid, I promise I won't let anything happen to you."
((Pinata is blocked I guess. Feel free to control the X-Men))

*meh ~.~*
"I've got a clear shot" Cyclops said coldly, the only sign of emotion on his face being a smirk as he continued, raising his hand to the side of his visor as the gas dispersed "Looks like we could nail two-for-one here. Want me to take it?" "Low power only" a female voice crackled over the radio, "We want that plant alive. I don't care about the other one; seems he has a history. If we take him alive, though, better have some anti-vibration restraints on his hands." "Got it. Low power. Take them both alive, if possible. I'm taking the shot."
Druid was struck in the back by the shot, which knocked the wind out of her like a punch to the gut, and she fell just short of Norton, convulsing in tears and pain as she tried to cry out with no air in her lungs. It came out more like a hoarse whimper. As she struggled to get up, the young mutant knew Norton was next... so helpless... useless... no... she wouldn't go back... not here, not now... not... so tired... so weak... so... so....
Get up a mechanical voice inside Druid's disconjointed mind commanded, startling the girl. Before she could react, it stated I said, get up. Comply at once, or risk capture and possible termination. Do you wish for that to happen, subject 7465?"
For what seemed like an eternity- but in reality, was but a moment's passing- Druid sat there, trying to decide what to do. She was tired, and wanted... rest... Fine then. the computerized phantom spoke. Initiating PROJECT DRUID self-defense mechanism override. Rather abruptly, she twitched, hard, and the one green eye turned now cascaded crimson, matching the other in color now. She pushed herself to her feet just as the second concussive blast from Cyclops was fired, aiming straight for her head...
Target acquired. Subject: Scott Summers...Alias: Cyclops... Status: currently healthy... Terminate if necessary... "Engaging..."

Norton turned when he realized that something was wrong. This was a mistake as he didn't see Cyclops shift his target and hit Druid first. Druid flew off back from his screaming in pain. He turned back around to face Cyclops with a snarl on his face, his hands a blur of motion. "I will bring your world down around you..." He clasped his hand in front of him after planting his feet in the ground letting loose a shockwave that would be enough to shake the jet off its landing gear if it wasn't stopped.
The others immediately put hands to their ears except Storm who let loose a thunder that reduced the effect of the blast before it reached the jet. Cyclops recovering and seeing the potential damage that could have been caused raised the power on his beam and hit Resonator in the chest. Norton flew back and came to a stop behind Druid, the wind knocked out of him and his clothes on his chest giving off a burning smell.

Cyclops then turned his beam upon the girl once more, this time aiming for an incapacitating shot that would keep her out for hours. "Say goodnight, you vegetative wench..." he growled just as he fired pure energy straight at her...
However, the beam never struck her. In fact, it never even came close; a solid wall of tree-like 'fingers' had burst from the ground, and even as some were cut down, more grew in front and behind them. Druid herself looked to the fallen man whom the child insisted upon calling 'Norton' Is this man really so very important to you? ... *sigh* Fine... Initiating healing protocols. From her hands, vines snaked out, wrapping around the injuries, a burning sap seeping from them to help close those wounds and restore some of the simple sugars that his body had lost.
Satisfied with that, she then turned to those whom harmed him, her eyes almost glowing red. "You wish to take her?" a somewhat mechanical voice proclaimed as a smirk came across her lips before she continued, holding up an arm in a definite challenge "Come then... although failure and termination are all that awaits, you can try." One defiant, determined foot stepped forward, followed by another, as vines began spreading from her back, highlighting the girl at the middle of them in an almost demonic light, every step bringing about a small but dramatic change in her appearance...
Even as it dawned upon them, she struck. First, Storm needed to be taken out, as her storm was blocking Druid's energy source and even now it was beginning to weaken her, but Cyclops was still in the way. With his beam penetrating her barrier, he was most certainly a worry. A few vines to keep him in place, pointing him away from her & Norton, and several to cover that bothersome visor was enough to put him out for the moment. Concentrating on Storm, Druid found her to be a little more difficult. Suddenly picking up the pace, she raced forward as lightning nipped at her heals, and was about to send every unoccupied vine at the woman when a horizontal bolt struck her square in the chest, knocking Druid over.
With a laugh that could chill bones, Storm stared down at the girl, saying almost haughtily "This is the end for you, sapling. Move again, and I will stop whatever kind of heart you have in that body of yours with enough power to light up a city. Don't you know that you cannot win here, or are you still bent upon seeing your own unscheduled demise?" Druid didn't move a muscle, except for her mouth; "I believe the odds are against you, Storm. Here, you are severely outclassed..."
Before she could understand the meaning of that, tentacles of wood burst from the ground some feet beneath her, one managing to swat the annoyance to the ground, where vines held her fast. With the entrance to the X-Jet blocked by vines and the sky clearing, Druid stepped over to the prone woman, whom fought in vain against the immovable restraints. Stepping on either arm of hers, the girl stared down, directly into Storm's eyes as she asked with mechanical coldness "Do you enjoy killing? Is this the sort of thing you live for?" As she spoke, two of the vines hovering behind her reached around her, wrapping themselves around the woman's neck, slowly tightening like a python as Druid continued, something like a wicked smile coming across her face "What about your own death? Will you enjoy that as much as you seem to enjoy the deaths of so many others? Lets see if you do..."

Norton woke up with a headache that would rival the worse hangover in the history of mankind. But he stopped paying attention to it when he realized the situation they were in. He sprang to his feet then saw the scene directly in front of him. It almost looked comical seeing the somewhat weak looking form of Druid standing controlling Cyclops and Storm while she blocked the entrance to the X-Jet with what seemed like living vines.
But the seriousness set in when he heard the conversation Druid was having with Storm. He understood this was not the innocent girl he knew but someone or something else in her. "Druid stop. Now!", he demanded. He couldn't let her kill Storm till he knew what the hell was going on with her. He almost wished he could interact with this 'form' of Druid. Maybe it had more information about what she was really about. But till then, he couldn't let Druid carry the burden of a merciless death with her if she did come back. He knew she wouldn't understand that what she had done was for the good.
He moved forward and realized that somehow the burn on his chest had healed. He would think of that later. First, he couldn't let go of a chance to rid the world of Cyclops and Storm.
