I want to join in. Like, really really bad. But I'm super busy with school right now, in case you haven't noticed my absence.

I vote Fallout. Because I've heard it's terrific. AGREE! I love post-apocalypse genre's.

Could you post a description of what kind of character you were looking at to fill each role? I'm interested in the betrothed's older sister character.

Noel was proud of her work; the teacher was sufficiently iced into place. However, as one of the boys attacked the teacher, she noticed the temperature rising. The water was evaporating, and the ice was starting to melt. She closed her eyes and tried to gather more water, but she wasn't able to because of the rising temperature. There were people in her family that could collect the moisture from the air, but Noel was no where near as talented as they were. With a crack, the teacher managed to free one of her legs from the melting ice. Noel managed to concentrate long enough to re-freeze the other leg, but she wasn't sure how long it would hold the teacher. ((I've got a bad case of zombie virus, forgive me for the half-assed post ))

((I assume there are windows; Noel noticed them earlier because they were open. )) When the darts started flying, Noel didn't really have time to think about what she was doing. She joined Jeschaal by the window, cowering underneath a desk. The darts whizzed over her head, hitting the desk and the ground around her. After a few seconds, she dared to look up. Jeschaal was opening the window. "What are you doing?" she hissed. She reached to tug the girl down but before she could, birds and squirrels started dashing in the windows. The girl then sat down near her, protecting her kitten. Ordinarily, Noel would have found the idea of a kitten in a school quite odd, but now all her attention was focused on figuring out how to get out of this situation. She closed her eyes and took deep breathes. Her father's words echoed in her head. "Calm, Noel. You must be calm." She slowed her breathing and her heart returned to its regular rhythm. "Now, find the water. You must find a source. Let your heart show you where it is." Taking a deep, she looked for water. Just above her, she sensed the water lines that were connected to the sprinkler system, perfect for what she needed. "Now push." She focused on the water, urging it towards her. Nothing happened. "Push harder." The water pipes in the ceiling started clanging, shaking from the pressure building up. "You are in control." The head of the sprinkler burst from the ceiling, showering water down on her. She managed to control it from hitting her and sent it shooting towards the teacher. Noel couldn't help but smile a little. This is the part I'm good at, she thought, as the water built up around the teacher's ankles. She reached out and touched the water in front of her. Like a chain reaction, the water turned to ice like a snake slithering through the grass, freezing the teacher in place. Water continued to shoot out of the sprinkler and, much to Noel's annoyance, she was starting to get wet. She scooted to the back of the room and willed the water forward as she put on her hat. ((In case you haven't noticed, my character hasn't had a lot of practice and kinda sucks at life lmfao.))

Noel tensed as the teacher started naming off the guardian animals. Honestly, she knew nothing about the other families; her father had only just told her that there were other families a few months before. Never in a million years did she imagine coming face to face with all of them at the same time.
As the teacher looked straight at her and rattled off her guardian, she jumped from her seat, startled. Her heart sped up and she she took a few slow steps back. Her head was racing, different thoughts and scenarios running through her head at the speed of light. She took a few deep breaths tried hard to conceal her emotions. Within seconds, her heart slowed down and her face returned to its neutral expression. She was still very frightened though.

fire, water and ice, thunder and lightning, air, earth and wood, and finally steel I wonder... What kind of history do the families have with each other? Like, would the fire and water/ice families hate each other (because they're opposites haha)? If that were the case, it would be fire vs. water/ice, thunder/lightning vs. air, and earth/wood vs. steel. Assuming of course that everyone would have rival family. Just an amusing thought I had today while I procrastinating on writing my essay.

As the day ended, Noel made her way into Ms. Suzumiya's room and quietly scanned the room. She recognized both Mercutio and Shinnon. She didn't really know anything about them but they both intimidated her. Lenore she had seen around school but hadn't ever talked to. She dropped her books on a desk in the front row and quietly took her seat.
Looking around the room again, she noticed the windows were open and immediately felt much colder. Shuddering, she zipped up her coat and slipped on her mittens.

((K, I'm going to jump it forward to lunch now. lol))
Noel jumped as the bell rang announcing lunch time. Her classmates all rushed to get to their lockers and grab their lunches, but Noel took her time. All she could think about was making the phone call to her father. She knew exactly how he would calmly reprimand her and tell her to come straight home after the detention. Sometimes she wanted to scream at him because he never showed his true feelings, he never displayed any kind of emotion. He was cold as ice.
She eventually made her way to the office. She asked the secretary if she could borrow the phone and dialed her number. The phone rang three times before it picked up.
"Rigentes." It was her father.
She told him about her detention. He calmly reprimanded her and told her to come home straight after the detention. Although he didn't say it, she knew he was very angry with her. Noel hung up the phone, thanked the secretary, and went to her locker to eat her lunch.
As she unlocked her locker and pulled her lunch bag out, a boy from her class ran around the corner and crashed into into her. Noel fell to the ground and her lunch bag went flying through the air, scattering her food all over the floor.
"I am so sorry!" he exclaimed, getting up. He offered Noel a hand.
"It's fine," Noel replied, ignoring the boy's hand and getting herself up. He gave her a weird look as she started cleaning up the food, "Wasn't hungry anyways."
The boy apologized again, then ran off to join his friends. Noel sighed and dumped the ruined food into a trashcan. Today couldn't get any better.
