The grenades exploded, sending bodies flying in every direction. "How are you on ammo?" Joshua asked checking his own supply, he had plenty.

"I could go on like this for a few hours. How many do you think there are? And how long for them to clear the cave openings?"

"That all depends," Joshua said, pulling out some C4 and grinning, "With this, they may never get out." He looked toward the cave in the distance, "It looks like there are more than enough to go around."

"We'd better use all the C-4 at one time. That way they won't get out for a while." Hogan set the C-4 and ran,"Blow it!"

"With pleasure." Joshua pushed the button on the remote, the explosion was huge, and the entire front of the cave collapsed on itself trapping all those inside. "That'll teach 'em to mess with good ol' american know how!"

"Now let's have a look around. Maybe there's something interresting here." Hogan walked off in search of cover and something to play with while they waited.

Joshua examined the sword of a dead warrior. Painstaking effort was put into the design and manufacture of the weapon, it was unlike those used by medievel warriors. In a way, it was a work of art. All the swords carried by the warriors, regardless of rank, were made to the highest of standards. He held a sword out to Hogan, "Look at this, these swords are made so well. There must be some intelligence somewhere around here, no matter how their foot soldiers act."

"Well lets go try to find it. Any idea where to look?"

"I haven't seen any buildings of any kind here, so I'll assume they live in the caves. Maybe in there, but we can't get inside without killing everyone."

"Well we'll have to wait then. Anything you can determine about them from the bodies?"

"They look human enough, except this." Joshua held us his hand, which was covered in blue blood. He examined several bodies lying close together, "And they're all identical, like they're all twins."

"Interresting. Maybe they produce cloned soldiers for defence."

"That's what I was thinking. Clones could be created without a conscience or even free will, plus they could make an unlimited number of them. I bet the blue blood is copper-based like in a horse shoe crab, that would give them a nearly-perfect immune system." Joshua was thinking of the advantages of an army of clones, especially these kind, cleverly designed to keep costs down.

"But why not give them decent weapons?" Hogan didn't really care but it was better than sitting around doing nothing.

"I don't know, but if they're looking to be as cost-effective per soldier as they can that could explain the weapons. Or its a big game of dungeons and dragons." He smiled as he looked at one of the dead soldiers.
