"What? I'm actually better armed than you! I've got normal gear and an extra gun......and a hat." Hogan turned on his heel with a slight anger and walked up the ramp. At the other end of the wormhole was a desert landscape and a trail. "What no welcome party?"

"Did the Tok'ra send us a welcome party? And they're supposed to be 'nice' guys." Joshua pulled out his sunglasses to block out the midday sun shining in the clear blue sky. "Well, it is a nice day. I suppose we should find the closest town and ask around for clues. You've got the map don't you?"

"Map? I thought you had the map. I gave it to you!" Hogan couldn't believe they didn't have a map. He wasn't about to go back for it either.

"Ummm, no you didn't." Joshua said, searching his gear. "Oh well, let's go to that ridge over there and look for the closest town." Joshua started off over the rocky soil toward the hill.

Hogan grabbed Josh. "What's the first thing we learn from those movies? There's always a town at the end of the trail. Look that way." Hogan pointed the other direction at a horse cart winding down what seemed to be a path.

"Aren't we lucky to have you on this mission!" Joshua said, rolling his eyes at Hogan. But, he knew he was right about the path. The History Channel never lied... "Ok, what do we do once we get to the town?"

"I dunno, you're the public relations guy. How about we buy a map?" Hogan started off for the trail without waiting for a reply.

Joshua followed Hogan for a ways, watching the cart on the lower part of the trail. He could hear the horses whinny in the distance and watch the slight dust cloud raised by their hooves. It felt peaceful, almost serene. Then he heard gunshots, and the horses tugged hard at their reins. The driver of the cart dove to the ground and put his hands over his head. Two men walked out of the bushes and began searching through the man's belonings. Not seeming to find anything, one of the men put his gun to the head of the man on the ground. Joshua heard the distant gunshot. His heart sank as he watched the scene unfold.

Hogan was excited and horrified at the sight that greeted them. A man was crouching behind a barrel in front of the general store. He was surrounded by men in covered positions throughout the small town. The man didn't stand a chance. Hogan, not liking the looks of the large band of men decided to even the odds a little. "Cover me. I'm going to see if I can help." Hogan ran into the street with a six gun in one hand and his trusty P-90 in the other.

"Be careful, these guys fight dirty." Joshua spotted a man on the roof taking aim at Hogan. Thinking on his feet, Joshua shot the gun out of the man's hand sending a bullet right over Hogan's head in the process. He was tempted to blow up the entire town with his C4.

Hogan decided it was time to stop playing around. It was time to use his P-90's full auto capabilities. After a few more seconds of fighting Hogan Josh and the man they had saved were the only ones left standing in the town. Everyone else was dead or inside hiding. "So what'd you do to piss those guys off?"

The man looked toward them, "I took my horse back that they stole." he said, pointing at the dead men laying on the ground. Joshua was surprised that something so simple would drive men to murder. Then again, he wasn't used to this place or this way of life. "Hey Hogan, do you think this guy can help us?" Joshua said nodding at the survivor.

"I dunno. How about we ask him?" Hogan looked at their new friend. "You know your way about these parts?" The man nodded. "Good. We lost our map and a guide would be of great service to us. Can you spare a few days?"

Fyren dug his P-90 into the dust as he leaned on it heavily. The earth was starting the spin very dangerously. "Oh, pretty colors," he whispered the world turned black.
(Eh....sorry for disappearing for so long)
