(I thought it would be interesting to delve into the relationship between the Tok'ra and the human race; maybe even look into their future and a possible conflict with the Goa'uld. This is not SG-1 but another Stargate team.)
Joshua waited on the catwalk in front of the gate. He watched as the Chevrons locked in place... Today he was going to the Tok'ra homeworld with a select group of government and military leaders for a peace conference. The Tok'ra had informed them a few weeks past about a failed invasion attempt by the Goa'uld against the planet A-1285. They had no information on the planet, but apparently the Tok'ra had played a great role in keeping the planet safe from attack. He remembered the time SG-1 had been held by the Tok'ra until a host was provided for Selmak, whose host was dying. It occured to him that even though they had been allies with the Tok'ra for years, he and many others still did not trust them. They knew everything there was to know about the Tok'ra due to Jakob Carter's blending with Selmak. He also remembered how they had been told that the Tok'ra were possibly their biggist alley against the Goa'uld. Still, he didn't feel right standing there with these important people about to go to another planet with beings he didn't trust.

Colonel Hogan stood with his team in front of the gate. He could tell this would be a rather boring mission. The Tok'ra were never very interresting. But they were allies and had much useful information. His team looked a bit nervous, and they had good reason to be. It wasn't every day they got to work with the people who ran the country's defenses.
The chevrons were all in place and the wormhole was established. He still wasn't used to the feeling he got stepping into it, but then no one ever gets used to being broken down into separate atoms, transported across the galaxy, and put back together again in a matter of a few seconds.

Joshua stepped out on the other side of the wormhole. He stood still for a second, slightly shaken. A 'welcoming party' had been sent to take them to the underground Tok'ra base. "You think they'd of sent more than two guards to escort us to their base," He wispered to Colonel Hogan as they began to follow the Tok'ra guards.

Hogan just laughed. "At least they sent someone. I hate trying to find those d**n rings." The important people looked completely lost and confused. They all jumped when the rings shot out of the ground around them and Hogan hardly kept a strait face. It's not a good idea to laugh at your boss.

As they were transported underground, Joshua could hear slight screams from the government people. After he was in the tunnel, he couldn't help but stay there and watch as group after group of leaders were transported by the rings. "I think I'm going to be sick," Said a young man in a business suit. He continued to walk alongside Hogan "Didn't they all get files on the technologies they would experience here?"

"Oh they got files. The problem was reading them." They had gotten plenty of files, but how much could you prepare for that sort of thing anyway?
Their 'welcoming party' led them down the long cooridor to a room with a huge round table in its center. The walls were smooth and shiny unlike the rest of the compound's rough crystal walls. The Tok'ra representatives were seated in every other chair. The others filled in the gaps and SG-7 stood waiting to see where they were supposed to be during the conference.

As the four of them stood there waiting to be seated a slight din developed as everyone began to introduce themselves to those around them. It looked as if they were getting along so far... After a while they were seated and the conference began.

Hogan was already having trouble staying awake. A peace conference had seemed exciting in the breifing room, but now that he was here he wished he hadn't taken this mission. The conversation was too predictable. The Earth representatives asking for access to new technology and the Tok'ra trying not to give them anything. He couldn't wait for lunch. Maybe they'd get a chance to look around the base on their own. You'd think that with their advanced technology they'd have cool stuff to play with, but no. The Tok'ra were a very boring race.

After about a half hour, even Joshua was losing interest. At first there was talk about two Goa'uld motherships being sent to A-1285 and how they had been defeated... But now the interesting conversation had dwindled to the earth representatives complaining that they were exposed to attack from their enemies and how they needed new technologies... He rolled his eyes, they had tried to get the Tok'ra to give them something for years. It was impossible. They wouldn't give up anything for fear that humans would use it against their own enemies on earth. He noticed Hogan kept shifting in his seat, he even began to nod off several times...

Hogan was almost ready to just lay down on the floor and take a nap when lunch was announced. They had an hour to themselves. Maybe he would 'eat some bad cheese' or something and get 'sick'. Then he could avoid having to sit through the four hours until dinner. The rest of the team looked like they were considering the same possibility.
About the time they finished eating a Tok'ra approached them. He asked them to follow him. After a nod from a superior the team went with him. Maybe they'd get something more interresting to do.

Joshua was walking alongside the Tok'ra that was following their team. "So, uh, are you guys planning on helping us out any? Like, maybe one of those... uh, you guys have advanced communication devices, don't you?" The Tok'ra just looked at him and said,"Humans would have no use for anything we have to offer, and if they did... what would you be able to offer in return?" He could see where this was going, he motioned for Hogan to help him.

Hogan could see that he was supposed to say something here, but what? All their attempts at getting stuff from these people had failed, and if this conference wasn't changing that how could he? He decided to let it go and change the subject. "So where are we going anyway?"

*Not a d*** clue* Joshua thought to himself. He looked at the Tok'ra, hoping for an answer but he just continued to walk down the tunnel. Suddenly, something caught his eye around the corner of the corridore that branched off from their current path... "I'm gonna go over this way." He announced as he turned and headed down the tunnel.

The Tok'ra who was leading them had gotten a bit ahead and not noticed Joshua turn off. Hogan was interrested in what Josh had found and followed him. He motioned for the rest of the team to keep going. Maybe the Tok'ra wouldn't notice that there were only two people with him now. Hogan followed Josh down the corridor hoping to find something interresting.

The object that had caught his eye was actually lodged in the wall of the tunnel. It was a small blue sphere about three inches in diameter and it glowed white. The light coming off it was quite intense, and the sphere seemed hollow. He couldn't figure out what it was, but it was at least something interesting. He noticed Hogan had followed him, "Any idea what this is?" He asked as Hogan bent down to examine the object.
