At first, Eldae thought another wolf had joined the battle, when he saw it attack the others. Realizing it wouldn't be able to stand on it's own, Eldae decided to help. Focusing his mind in a different fashion, he pulled more ectoplasm, this time concentrating on shaping it into a construct. As the creation formed into a vaguely human shape, Eldae sent it into the battle, following it himself.

Blood Lark leaped at a dire wolf, sinking his teeth into its throat, the coppery taste of blood filled his mouth. Two others turned at him, he snarled he lunged at one snapping at its exposed side. He saw three people coming into the fray, but wasn't there only two before?

*Amaera drew her swords and followed Eldae into the battle, wondering if there was anything he couldn't do... Her blades whirled and slashed, each time finding their mark. Each movement made her fighting look more like a dance as she dodged and lunged. She looked away briefly to see if Eldae and the wolf were all right, barely avoiding a nasty blow from a dire wolf.*

Eldae fought through the wolves, whacking fiercly with his staff as his astral construct fought independantly. A slash of a wolves claws ripped his staff in two, and before he had time to react, a wolf had knocked him over and leapt on top of him.

*Amaera was immediately moving toward Eldae the moment she saw he was in trouble. Right before the wolf could bring any serious harm to him, she slammed into its side, practically tackling it to the ground. She used the momentum to roll to her feet, turned, and plunged her sword deep into the wolf's flesh before it could attack again.*

Eldae could feel the wolf's breath when Amaera slammed into the wolf, knocking it off of him. As he got to his feet, he saw Amaera slay the wolf. Not having any time for more than a hurried "thanks," Eldae focused his mind again, this time a sword coming to his hand, which he used to return to the battle.

*Amaera barely heard Eldae as she lunged for another wolf. The pack's numbers were rapidly decreasing and it wasn't long before the last wolf fell. After seeing that their enemies had been defeated, Amaera leaned against the nearest tree with a relieved sigh. She looked to Eldae, managing a bit of a grin.* "You... are lucky that I didn't run..." *She sheathed her swords but paused when she felt a burning pain and something wet trickling down her left arm. She frowned when she saw the dark liquid and realized that she had been cut. She shook her head, ignoring it for now.* "Is everyone all right?"

Is everyone all right
Blood Lark padded up beside Amaera. He saw Amaera was bleeding and wondered if he should heal it. He gave a howl of victory and changed back. "That was most entertaining, should we not return back to the city now, it's getting late."

"That was most entertaining, should we not return back to the city now, it's getting late."
Eldae looked at Blood Lark with astonishment. "Well, I certainly wasn't expecting that." Glancing off into the darkness, Eldae continued. "Yeah, we should be getting back to the city. I'm really not in the mood for another fight tonight in this forest.

"That makes two of us... Let's hurry before something else comes along." *She quickly pulled her cloak so that it fell over her arm, making her way through the trees without another word.*

Blood Lark watched the two silently for a moment, he considered the possiblity of just running back into the forest and forgetting this quest, there was no real point in it for him. But something told him he should go, that this was of importance. He shook his his head, bones rattled in his hair, and followed several paces behind the two, once again not wishing to become too close to either one.

The city was a welcome sight when it came into view. Eldae let out a sigh of relief when he saw it, but he didn't quite let down his guard. He had lived in this city for many years, and knew of the battle going on in the shadows. The last thing he wanted was to be ambushed by some thieves when his mind was tired. he tried not to show it but he couldn't help but stumble as they were walking through the streets. That battle had taken a lot from him.

*For once Amaera was glad to be out of the forest and back in a city. However, her joy and relief turned to concern as she noticed how Eldae stumbled slightly as they walked down the streets. She gently placed a hand on his shoulder, stopping him for a moment.* "Here..." *She lifted his arm, draping it over her shoulders for a little bit of support in case he should need it.*

Eldae leaned on Amaera's shoulder gratefully. "Thank you. My minds a bit tired from that battle." He stopped, turning to face Amaera. "Speaking of which, I never did thank you for saving my life from that wolf."

"Speaking of which, I never did thank you for saving my life from that wolf."
*Amaera shook her head lightly.* "I couldn't just stand back and watch as you were torn to shreds, now could I? Despite the fact that you have enough power to crush me where I stand, I'm a little fond of you." *She grinned up at him.*
