(( Its upto you, I wold prefer if it was, though still with the main story as the base. If you don't want it to be, go ahead and fix it Here I am assuming, they are sitting by the fire right now )) Scoltun had walked towards the stream of water flowing down over the entrance of the cave. He washed the knife off Zyphan's blood, then came back and sat near the fire next to Zyphan behind her stretched wings. he adjusted his own wings, and opened them to let himself sit. He couldn't retract them as well as she could so they would come in the way when he tried to sit. He hesitated for a while before he raised his hand upto neck and moved his hand across the feathers there. He smiled as he felt the smoothness of the feathers. He was sure the sensation would distract her from the pain if only slightly. He was curious how much her wings were different from his. To him, they were much more beautiful than his own rough textured wings. He wondered if she would minhd him touching her wings like this. She hadn't said anything when he had done it last time.

Zyphan's eyes had lingered on Scoltun's wings as he opened them, and the dark hues that were so different from her own light tones. The difference fascinated her, yet the fact that she had met someone else who had wings also was amazing.
A blush flooded her cheeks when he felt her neck feathers, and her stomach did an odd flip. The sensation of his fingers brushing her feathers felt so comforting, and the pain seemed to seep away to a distant throb. Zyphan sighed, almost complete calmness taking over her system now. "That feels good..." She did not move, did not do anything that might disrupt the feeling making her so relaxed, so... the avian didn't know. She didn't know what was going on, or why it felt so good, or why she was feeling all these weird sensations at the moment.
Her thoughts traveled to the skies, her mind having been put into a state of utter calm, and she thought of sharing the skies with the avian next to her, of flying in sync and sharing the joy of flight with him.
With everything happening so fast and Ayden locked away somewhere and everything all confusing, the comfort brought by Scoltun was greatly accepted by Zyphan. She didn't know what was happening betweent them, just that she wasn't alone in this mess and he appeared to care for her like Ayden once did, before she got more independent.

He smiled when he heard her say how good it felt. He could almost feel her body relax in front of him. He moved a bit closer to her now, moving the wings so they wouldn't push at hers. He then started using both his hands to gently massage her wings, back and shoulders. His own body had been stiff all this time first from the pain and strains from the escape, then the surgery he had performed. He let his body relax now.
His wings were now spread, around his and Zyphan's body in front of him. They seemed to have formed a covering around him and a bit of the fire allowing less of the heat to escape and at the same time, allowing his wings to dry off quicker. He didn't say anything as he didn't want to ruin this for him, for the both of them. For a few instances, he forgot about all the problems and just wanted to enjoy being with a beautiful avian.

Zyphan bowed her head, the gentle pressure of Scoltun's hands on her back and wings mesmorizing her with their tenderness. She was warm now, and dry, and the pain was just barely there, her mind was distant, sluggish to think what with the mood surrounding the two avians. She was warm, and comfortable, and at the moment not in danger.
The fire crackled and popped in front of her and Scoltun, eating up the wood fuel, and the waterfall rushed un-haltingly over the mouth of the cave. With these simple sounds and the comfort of her new friend in her presence, Zyphan began to grow drousy, despite everything that still needed to be done.

He kept the gentle massage up and soon felt himself supporting her. She seemed to be falling asleep or had reached a point of relaxation that she was about to doze off. He moved one hand behind her back to support her weight as she seemed to start leaning back. He smiled and moved closer to her ear and whispered, "You can sleep, you are safe with me. Nothing is going to bother you..."
She still had her top off and in her hands. His clothes seemed to be drying quickly as was hers. He suddenly realized that if wasn't going to be of much help as they would have to exit the cave in the same way as they came in, through the waterfall, which would drench them again. But at least, for now, they would be warm and dry.

Zyphan mumbled her thanks, leaning back more. Her shoulder throbbed again from the movement, but she ignored it, pulling her shirt tighter around her chest. For some strange reason, she trusted Scoltun to keep her safe until they had to move, and was very much at ease under his comforting touch.
As she drifted off, brief thoughts of their approaching quest came to the surface of her mind, but she pushed them away, looking only for the comfort of sleep. Zyphan's mind became fuzzier as the gently rhythm of Scoltun's hands relaxed her, calmed her, and soon she was alseep, still leaning against him.
((I don't know how we'll get to the next day if zyphan's asleep, but scoltun i'm sure can come up with something. if he falls alseep, then i'll have zyphan wake to a beeping tracker or something...i dunno. we'll see how your next post goes...))

Soon enough, as he kept up the constant massage, Zyphan had fallen asleep with her head resting on his chest, her wings comfortably out of the way of getting tangled between them. He stopped massaging but didn't get up for some time, not wanting to wake her up. He waited for a while till her breathing realaxed and began to have a slow rhythm to it. He slowly took hold of her head and back and laid her down gently on the floor, moving out from behind her.
His wings were now completely dry and so were his clothes which he then proceeded to wear, quietly. He smiled as he saw Zyphan sleeping calmly near the fire as if not having a care in the world. He moved towards the bag and looked through them to see what else they had with them and found the other empty bag. He then proceeded to split the load into the two turning around to see Zyphan not having been woken up by the noise.
He then went to pick up the tracker and embedded in in a peice of wood to make sure it will float in the water. He was about to throw it down into the waterwhen he heard something. It was distant but was apporaching fast. They had already got air support? By the sound they made, he guessed they were the advanced military helicopters. He didn't throw the tracker in the water just yet but ran back to Zyphan and started shaking her, "Zyphan, wake up, they are coming, Zyphan..."
((This ok or did you have something else in mind? It was obvious they would get air support eventually to track a couple of avians... ))

((no, this is perfect. it's a great way to start their quest. =D ))
Zyphan mumbled in protest, but the sound soon reached her senses, and she opened her eyes to see Scoltun above her. "What is it?" She wasn't fully awake, but her mind was quickly becoming aware that things weren't as calm as they were when she fell asleep. She found her clothes to be dry, and carefully, but quickly pulled on her shirt and jacket, wincing as they rubbed against her incision. Once again, she turned to Scoltun as the sound grew closer. They know where we are... We should be leaving soon. This thought ran through her mind, once she realized that the sound outside belonged to helicopters.

(( Good )) He was trying to think hwo to get out of there and avoid getting caught or even shot at the same time. "Its those d**n helicopters again. Anyway, I figure we dive down from here and stay close to the water. At a point where we can get out of sight of the men, I will throw the tracker in the water and hopefully it will confuse them long enough to get far away, maybe then we will be able to track your friend Ayden." He turned to Zyphan asked, "You ok? We will need to fly really fast if we can even think of escaping them..." He did remember about the wound on her shoulder and even though he had bandaged it, it might hurt and prevent her from flying properly.

"Well..." She reached back and felt the bulge under her jacket. It stung pretty bad when she touched it, but she didn't think it would cause much trouble to fly. "I'll take some more pain meds, then we can get out of here." Zyphan saw he had split the packs, and shouldered one of them after removing the jar of pills. She would have to fly with one strap off or prevent reopening the incision, and that wasn't on her list of things to do.
Walking over to the waterfall, she prepared to stop it just long enough for them to get out, that way they wouldn't get soaked. "Okay, I think I can do this." She turned to Scoltun. "Ready? Don't worry about the fire or anything. I just want to get out of here." By now, the choppers could be heard clearly through the flowing curtain.

Scoltun nodded and picked up the other bag. He thought for a moment then approached Zyphan and said, "Let me have the other bag. You just make sure you get out of here ok?" He looked down at the flow of the water. If she felt she could freeze it for long enough for them to get out, then he would trust her.
"As soon as I am through, I would head down and then we will fly on level near the water. You know this area better, so you should lead. Take this tracker, drop it in the water where you think we can then hide from the helicopters for a while", he said to her and extended the wooden piece with the tracker embedded in it.

Zyphan took the tracker from him, and took a deep breath. Hopefully, her shoulder would be able to hold up from the movement of her wings. "Okay. Let's do this." She waved a hand over the curtain, and first, it parted, then froze, leaving a hole leading straight into the sky. The helicopters were loud now, and almost to the cave.
Testing her shoulder, she flapped her wings a bit before launching herself smoothly from the entrance, not turning back to see if Scoltun would follow; he would launch when he was ready. She stayed low to the water's surface, but her shoulder was starting to throb more painfully now with every down-beat of her blue-gray wings.
Almost immediately, the choppers altered their course to intersect the two mutants, but they weren't fast enough, and soon Zyphan was past them, headed towards a secluded and remote mountain valley only five minutes' flying time from where they were. If she could keep up her current speed, it would be easy to drop the tracker and make the choppers think they were still following the river, when in reality they would be almost a mile from the drop point.
Her incision sent a stab of pain through her shoulder, but she kept flying, gritting her teeth through the pain, determined to get Scoltun and herself to safety.

Scoltun jumped down watching as she froze the water long enough for both of them to jump out and fly clear. He realized he should have waited for her when they entered to avoid getting drenched. It was just a passing thought. He followed closely the bes he could looking back as to see the helicopters closing on them. He could barely make out a few men sitting in the doorways training something at them.
He looked back at Zyphan and saw her falter a bit. He frowned as he realized the surgery was hurting her during flight. He was surprised by the strength she was showing.

Zyphan heard the zing of something being fired in her direction, and dodged a tranquilizer dart just before it hit her. "We'll be there soon. I'm gonna fly into the trees a bit to discourage them from firing at us. Watch your wings with the trees so close." She didn't know how agile Scoltun was, but figured he could handle herself.
She darted into the tree cover growing along the river, staying close to the water to make the signal seem real, yet staying hidden to increase their chances of not being fired upon. The choppers were beginning to slowly fall behind, but they were still too close. She faltered for a second, losing a bit of air, but beat her wings harder, determined to make it to the clearing.
After about five more minutes' of flying, she could hear the choppers farther off, and turned back to see them a good mile or two back, still tracking them. "I'm going farther into the trees now, so it'll get harder to fly. Try and keep up until we get to the clearing." The avian hoped she could make it; her shoulder was throbbing painfully, and she could feel the stitches chafing against her jacket. Gritting her teeth against the pain once more, she flew on into the trees, keeping an eye out for a thin patch, dodging trees left and right.

He could barely keep his speed in the trees as he followed her in after he avoided a tranquilizer dart himself. The clearance wasn't enough for his wingspan and he winced as his wings hit the outstretched branches of the trees to his side. He kept flying though, trying very hard to keep up. All he could do right now was concentrate on flying fast enough to keep up with the avian in front of him while trying to avoid the trees.
As she entered thicker woods, he hesitated for a second before finding an opening to dive in himself. He knew this was the only way for their plan to work and he would have to bare a bit of pain in his wings if thats what was required. He dropped down lower so as to avoid getting his wings tangled in the branches. But that also meant the ends of his wings received a lot more lashing from the thick trunks. He winced, but didn't utter a word as he continued to fly trying to forget about the constant beating received by the ends of his wings.
