( It's the substance, not the length of the post that matters. No worries ) "Jad," the man replied. " I guess we should..." he cut off at an a bark from the wolf. " What? I already spoke your name and they heard it." The wolf growled at him. " Fine, whatever...this is Om'aso" Jad introduced the wolf sarcastically and with a roll of his eyes.

Aueron had noticed the two figures ahead on the road, but hadn't bothered to realize what sort of worth they could be on their 'quest' until Iro spoke up. The swordsman turned his head so that his voice could carry behind him decently enough, and replied to the traveler who just spoke: "You know her, then?"
At a first glance, she appeared to just be any normal woman--lightly older than he, long red hair, and wearing mostly tan and white clothing, so he thought nothing of her and was just going to pass by. But, if Iro was truthfully introduced to her previously, then it'd only be right to go by his word; of course, Aueron himself would be sure to look into it... if his death was to be caused by a mistake, he would take great care to ensure it was his own. The weather appeared to be mostly stable so far through-out the morning into the beginnings of the afternoon, unlike the previous night when snow suddenly fell from summer's sky. A calm, gentle breeze brushed back Aueron's long, dark-brown hair, stretching the small boy-ish ponytail somewhat along the width of his back as well as catching the underside of his cloak that hung on his right shoulder and causing it to sway away from his side.
The ambience of the worn and time-beaten gulch was relatively quiet, allowing the sounds of his shield clanking rather minutely with the sheath, both on his back, and his leather boots scratching the rough sand and rocks that laid before their relaxed wake. All along he avoided staring directly towards the woman and the 'unknown' elf next to her, but neither did he let them make any obvious movements unknown--he wanted to appear as though they needed to address something with them, but harmless as well.

Aeron nodded to Jad and then with a slight look of confusion, to Om'aso. "Great, we should go, um, lead the way Om'aso." he said, kicking his horse forward a few paces in anticipation of the travel that was to come. The sight of the great beam of light seemed to have burned itself into his mind, and it's sudden disappearance many hours before still seemed strange to his eyes. "Does Om'aso know anything else about what happened?" Aeron asked Jad, turning in his saddle to face him.

~Isra shook her head. "This is getting old," she muttered. "I hate playing games like this." She turned and faced the direction she believed the people were in. "Come on out, you're not fooling anyone. If it's a fight you want, come get it. Or run, if you're scared. I couldn't care less. But don't creep around as though we wouldn't know."

Iro watched Isra turn and shout at them. He hadn't meant to "creep" up on them, though he supposed he had in a way. Shooting a quick, furtive glance at the swordsman to determine if he was going to follow his lead or not, Iro approached the other traveling pair. "Isra. We're on a quest to save Saloria but we need more people to help us. Will you come? Short and to the point. There was no point in beating around the bush on this one. The guard had said to hurry after all.

" If he does, he hasn't seemed fit to tell me," Jad say with a glare at the wolf. " Though I doubt it. He likes to pretend he knows more than he does." He seemed about to explain more, when Isra's shout carried to them. "...do you think that was for us, or are there more people slinking around this road? By the wide blue sky, this is an odd day..."

Aeron tilted his head to the side as he listened to the shouting in the distance, before shrugging his armour covered shoulders in response to Jad. "Should we...go and have a look?" He asked raising an eyebrow to no one in particular. Bane merely snorted "We of the Clan do not creep around, werewolf, go and see to the matter, there could be more who know of the light!" Bane's face was split by a grin as Aeron turned slowly to face him, a look of tired annoyance on his cold features. Aeron rode forward, but not before leaning down to whisper in Jad's ear. "If you get any chance please do me the favour of killing him, I would repay you greatly." And with a heavy sigh he trotted further down the path until his eyes fell upon the two figures in the distance. He cared not for cover to hide under, this whole "mission" seemed a complete and utter shambles and he grew tired, wanting only to return to his tavern and drink himself into unconsciousness once more.

~Isra took a startled step back. Though she had prepared herself for a fight, or even a chase, she certainly hadn't prepared herself for this. "Iro? It's you." she blurted out. Then, remembering his comment, she sighed. "What the hell kind of 'hello' is that?" she said, half-jokingly. She looked back at Kaine, knowing that he was probably confused. "Kaine, this is Iro. I guess you could call him a friend."
Isra looked back at Iro. "Saloria's in trouble, huh? And you need some help?" Isra sighed. "I don't see any reason not to, seeing as I do owe you, after all, but...." She looked back at Kaine. "What about you? What do you think?"

"It'd be in all of our best interests to bring along a forth member as well," Aueron said in his normal, near-monotone voice towards Kain as Isra finished speaking. "Our time is short so we have no choice but to explain on the way, seeing how dire our mission appears to be--we have been told that our journey will not be without 'complications' so it is your choice in the matter. Just be sure to choose quickly," the swordsman explained in a rather quickened pace, hoping to continue on as soon as possible.
The charm he held in his hand brought forth thoughts of that guard... he had indeed been at least vague about most of the inner details besides what they had to do at first, and why. He hadn't asked for names, or given his own, but only promised he would lead them every step of the way through the charm he had given Aueron. Was everything he said really the truth? Why had he even told them in the first place? What an odd world they seemed to live in... it seemed only his sense of curiousness pulled him along so far; already he had sacraficed his preferance to travel alone--what might be next could be his, and the others' lives if this guard was purposely leading random, young travelers to their doom.

Tugging at his beard in thought, Jad glanced a look back at Bane, confused. Om'aso barked softly. " Agreed, who travels with someone they would gladly see killed? You see my shaggy friend, this is why I tend to avoid 'civilized people' " he said with as much contempt as he could put on the last two words. With a sigh, he trotted after Aeron, though he kept himself off to the side and half hidden, letting the man before him draw any attention from the people ahead.

Kaine scratched behind his long ear, trying to appear as dismissive as possible, hiding the fact he was mortified by the proposal. "Save Saloria eh? Sounds kinda like a fairy tale, to me." As with any logical process, first came denial. "Besides if all those stories were true, then she's locked up in a tower with the best warriors stationed at intervals, what on earth could we do. Me, I can barely keep myself alive." Bargaining tends to come shortly after.
The man, despite his reluctance and fear, held a solid, strong stance. Truthfully he was fully prepared to brandish his weak, dulled blade against any of these strangers. He was outnumbered, certainly, but wit always won in the end.
((Sorry for the slowness :3! I was planning a trip! Hehehe!))

~"Fairytale?" Isra said aloud, almost angry. "How can youi think of it as a fairytale? Saloria is the only thing keeping this world alive. If she dies, you die as well. Keep that in mind." Still unsure whether or not she had been convincing or not, Isra allowed her expression to soften.
"Besides," she said in a much lighter voice, "What kind of man would you be if you let a woman go off alone with a group of guys she barely knows?" Though Isra knew that she also barely knew Kaine, still, it was her best shot.

Kaine frowned, the features of his face transforming from comically laid-back to sharp and severe in a mere moment. "Saloria isn't felt nor seen. She's an entity locked away in a tower nobody enters and nobody comes out of. Even if she did once upon a time exist, how is it she's still alive? Surpassing the age of our parents and grandparents and ancestors? I can't feel any changes, magic itself is dwindling!" The man's voice, once low and almost calming, came to a fierce growl. "Before long who knows if even our own species will be naught but legend and if the time comes that is so then we no longer exist either! Legends may have been a fact and a history once upon a time, but they never forever in absolute truth."
Kaine studied his pale fingers, the short, chewed nails, scraping over the stained leather strap holding his supplies to his back. "I'm not a religious man. I base my world on what I can see and feel and taste. Not wayward dreams children are told in order to help them retain hope when faced with the worlds' tragedies."
The elf ran a hand back through his hair, entangling itself in his ebony locks as a toothy grin painting his face with a blessed familiarity. "I can follow ya, if you'd feel more comfortable with some guy you've known for a half hour more than these. I owe you for helping me anyway. But I ain't so keen on puttin myself in danger for a priests' scripture."

~Isra sighed. "Fair enough. Thank you." She turned back to Iro and his companion. "Alright, we're in." She looked first at Iro, then the other man. "If Iro hasn't already told you, I'm Isra." She extended her hand to be shaken.

About time. Aueron had nearly left in the middle of the elf's speech to find another instead of waiting around on what little time that was supposedly given to them. The quest they were on seemed to have so many faults within its basis, riding on the very fact that Saloria was indeed a realistic entity and not just some political-play to make the "Holy Kingdome" seem far more superior to the others and give it an excuse to make a massive army to protect the Shining Tower.
But... doing nothing could also bring dire consequences. It's a 50-50 gamble; either everything the guard said was a lie, or it was the honest truth. But, if they did nothing, and it appeared to be true, then the entire world... all life in itself, would cease to exist. Aueron personally was against letting something like that happen; after all, he was intent on finding out what his life's purpose would be... perhaps helping to save the world? Or serving as a further example that trusting complete strangers was foolish on so many levels. Only one way to find out...
"We must save introductions for later," the swordsman replied to Isra, "getting to the port before our ride across the sea leaves is most important at this time--let's go." With a pull of his side-resting green cloak, Aueron turned and led the way down the dirt-road, walking briskly, but slow enough, for now, for the others to stay close behind. "Once we get on the boat, we'll clear everything up. Alright?"
