Athan tugged th e door to his room shut behind him, cursing it's rusty hinges under his breath. He really needed to find a car. Rented, bought, or stolen, it didn't matter to him, just so long as he had some way to get around besides his own feet. Walking was okay, but driving was better, though flying topped them all. Sighing, Athan headed down the road, yes, on his own two feet, back to town. Maybe I'll see Rayna again, he thought, though a sharp pain in his head reminded him that this wasn't a social visit. (((Uhm... don't know where I'm going with this.......... but Athan has to get back into to town... for some reason unkown to me as of now. )))

"you're not sure if you believe in angels? but," he sighed, "I don't know how to describe it, but I know they're real." *I can't tell her HOW I know they're real.* he looked at her, "it's a gut feeling, and I'm positive about it."

((lol. It's all good, Ven. Just jump on back in.))
*Rayna stared at him a moment, suddenly quite serious and unsure of how to act or what to say. She didn't want him to think poorly of her. Still, she wasn't about to lie about her beliefs.* "No offense to your beliefs or anything but all my life, I've had to take care of myself and a few of the other little outcasts stuck in this town. I don't know about you but no one up there's looking out for us... Otherwise we might actually be happy for once and feel good about who and what we are." *She lowered her gaze a little as she walked, briefly wondering why she couldn't seem to keep up her tough and confident facade around this guy.* "When one of your angels actually comes down here and helps us insignificant mortals, I'll believe."

*then you'll be believing real soon, just wish I could show you sooner.* "ever heard of guardian angels? obviously, they watch over you, but they can't help until it's life threatening. You were put on earth and allowed to make your own choices, you have all the power you need to make your life better, and angels just make sure you're alive to do that until it's your time. You just need to accept how you are, and not care what others think, that's the key to everything," he chuckled, "it's how I made it through."

*Rayna sighed softly and shook her head.* "Easier said than done. It's kind of hard to love who you are when everyone else mumbles insults as you walk by. Freak, witch, and psycho aren't exactly names that boost your self confidence." *She gave him a bit of a smile but was afraid that she was making a total fool out of herself.* "I've known kids that ended their lives from that torture... Kind of hard to believe in anything as good as angels when you have to see and hear about that." *As they rounded a corner, the park gates came into view much further up the street.*

"well I think you're a great person, great singer, and pretty close to an angel yourself, not just in how you look, but you take care of others even though you don't have to."

(((-gags- How sickeningly sweet. >_< ))) I shouldn't have to hitch a ride into town, Athan thought, shutting the door to the car of the 'charitable citizen' behind him. Especially not from some chick who does nothing but speak in sexual innuendos. So much for subtlety. This world is really going to the dogs, which makes it a lot less fun for beings like us, he thought. Quite the shame. Sighing, Athan momentarily leaned up against a building wall, running over his options in his head. So, I could find Fahne. Which would be fun, not to mention the fact that it would be getting what I was sent to do done. But all the same.....there are definitely other things out there to entertain me...... Scrubbing a hand through his hair, Athan set off down the street, with no where in particular in mind, just hoping his intuition would guide him, as it hadn't failed him yet.

*Rayna nearly stopped dead in her tracks from shock but somehow managed to keep her feet moving. She could feel the color rise to her cheeks as she stared up at him, wondering if he really meant that... She could easily see that he did... and it was probably the nicest thing anyone had ever said to her. He was absolutely amazing... Trying her hardest to stick with her usual ways, she laughed a little although it was easy to see that it was a cover.* "I'm flattered but really... I'm not all that great. And I'm certainly not anywhere close to an angel. Maybe a demon, but not an angel. I believe you're the only one in this town deserving of a halo. The only way I'd ever have a halo is if my horns were holding it up." *She grinned a little.* "Honestly, I just do what someone has to do. No one else out there is going to help people that need them. I've learned that from experience. Everyone needs someone to run to for comfort and it might as well be me."

((sorry I can't post for awhile))
Fahne nearly choked when she mentioned him with a halo, "I-I don't think so. I mean, if you think I deserve one, then so do you. i've been doing things for a LONG time because I had to, but then I got into the habit, and do things cause I'm a nice guy."

*Rayna smiled softly, shaking her head.* "Well, at least I can agree with one point of all that. You are a nice guy. And that's something that's very hard to find in this world. Believe me, I've been looking for years." *She laughed a little.*

"nah, I'm not that nice really, ya ruffle my feathers the wrong way and I can get pretty mean. It's only happened once, but I never forgave the guy for what he did," *even though he is my brother...* Fahne frowned slightly. "...." he looked around briefly, then took a deep breath, putting the smile back on hs face, "so, what other places are there to see...that are cheap...free is better." he chuckled.

*Rayna smiled and shook her head a little as they walked through the gates of the park.* "Not much. Everyone around our age hangs out at the cafe where I work if they're the quiet type or at the movies and ball field if they're your typical party type... and the ice cream parlor is popular too. But as far as free goes, there's pretty much just this park and the churches. My church is the oldest and most elaborate but the others are more fun for teens and what not."

"Then I'm happy I'm a park person, and that there's no movie playing right now that interests me." *cause I'm flat broke. I came to Earth with no money...boy was I smart -.- * " I really like your church though, it's the kinda place where you can go to all your life, but never see the entire place, least that's what I think"

*Rayna shrugged lightly.* "I don't know. I've been going there all my life and I really don't think there's much to see. I mean, it's beautiful, sure... But it gets boring and loses all meaning after seeing the same old thing week after week..." *She looked around as they walked down the path. She hadn't been to the park in at least a year. She spotted a small garden of red and white roses that she was sure she hadn't ever noticed before. She stopped for a moment and stared at the flowers. Red roses had always been her favorites.* "Wow..." *She laughed a little when she realized how foolish she must look, staring at flowers all wide-eyed like a kid. She ran a hand through her hair, shaking her head.* "I'd much rather be in places like this... Beautiful but always with a few surprises."

"yeah, sometimes a church can be a place of relaxiation and comfort sometimes. But you are right, it's much better to go to places that can contain so much beauty so often, and still manage to surprise you."He stood next to her, looking at the flowers she had noticed.
