Eldae smiled again. "Yes, cartainly we can use your help. But perhas we should take this conversation somewhere where we cannot be magically overheard. I believe there is a fountain outside with such properties that we can put to our use." Standing up, he paid the barkeeper for his drinks and started towards the door.

"I am Kaali. " And then smiled slightly, "And Yes. I had no idea on what you were reffering to. But may I offer my services to you? A helping hand if you will."
"Yes, cartainly we can use your help. But perhaps we should take this conversation somewhere where we cannot be magically overheard. I believe there is a fountain outside with such properties that we can put to our use."
*Amaera nodded as Eldae stood up, paid for his drinks, and made his way to the door. Amaera followed silently, the girl known as Kaali right behind her. This was just getting better and better. A new adventure with new people. Not to mention the fact that someone actually had need of her skills...*

The trio walked out of the bar and into the street. It was pretty much deserted except for a few Red Wizards doing business and a beggar jingling his cup of coins. Eldae walked over to the fountain, a statue of four leaping dolphins. "Beautiful, isn't it?" he asked his companions. "Somehow or other, it survived the strife that followed the Shaking Plague. It is impossible for magical scrying to take place focused on this area. Normal eavesdropping still works, so talk softly."

*Amaera nodded, unable to hide the smile on her lips. She was beginning to wonder if this elf knew everything... She glanced at the other girl with them before looking back to Eldae. She kept her voice low as she spoke.* "All right then... Shall we have a look at that map of yours? I'd like to know where we're going."

Eldae looked around as well, making sure no one was nearby. He took out the map. It was an old piece of parchment, and weather had taken it's toll. The map was faded in several spots, but it seemed to be leading to somewhere in Cormanthyr, near the ruins of the Elvish court. "Now, from what I can gather," Eldae said, "the map leads to a pedestal in a clearing. Unfortunately, the clearing seems to be in the drow occupied area. We don't stand a chance of fighting them off, our best hope is to avoid them all together." Here he smiled. "Fortunatley, you two are rangers, which means I get to walk a little distance away from you so I don't draw all the drow towards you with my clumsiness."

Kaali pursed her lips as her eyes scanned the map carefully. She blushed, "Fortunatley, you two are rangers, which means I get to walk a little distance away from you so I don't draw all the drow towards you with my clumsiness."
She mumbled under her breath, "Lets not start on clumsiness in moments of stealth." And continued softly, "Isn't there any way by which we can merely avoid the company?"
She ran her finger gingerly over the top of the map, over a faded pathway. "If we were to follow this path, would be able to avoid the drow's?"

Eldae looked at the path she was indicating. "That? Hmmmm...." Eldae pondered it for a moment. "That just might work. It could probably take us around the drow, but," At this Eldae pointed out a location on the map, near the path. "This city was sacked by an army of demons long ago. It should be safe by now, and I doubt they would leave the ruins anyways. I say we take the path." (ooc: feel free to add plot elements of your own here, people)

((For now I'm just playing follow the leader. )) "This city was sacked by an army of demons long ago. It should be safe by now, and I doubt they would leave the ruins anyways. I say we take the path." *Amaera nodded.* "Whatever you think best. Is there anything we need before we get started then?"

Eldae looked down at his arms. "Well, I'd like to scribe a few more tattoos on myself before we head out." At the others' looks of incredulity, he continued. "I'm not joking. I store powers in them for later use. If you like, I can write some on you as well. It doesn't hurt, and they disappear after you use them."

*Amaera laughed a little and shook her head.* "No thank you. I have enough tattoos as it is, despite the fact that I keep them covered. Besides, I can get by just fine without storing power." *She gave him a quick wink.* "Anyway, do what you must. I'm in no rush."

"Anyway, do what you must. I'm in no rush."
"Okay then," Eldae responded. "It should take me a few hours to draw some more tattoos. What say we all meet back here at this fountain at..." He looked up at the sky. "around dusk. I don't want to wait for too much longer, something doesn't feel right. The longer we wait, the more chances something bad will happen."

"Agreed... Until dusk then." *Amaera gave him one last smile before turning away from the fountain and heading back to the pub. A few more relaxing performances would do her some good. However, she also secretly hoped that the other woman would return there as well... She wanted nothing more than to get to know her new companions.*

Eldae went back to his room at the inn, where he got out his ink and needles and began concentrating on the powers he wanted to store. He maaged to draw three new tattoos, but ehn he heard a snatch of song, and his thoughts turned to Amaera. Try as he might, he couldn't focus on his designs, so he gave in and went downstairs to listen.

((Prepare for something a bit long here because I just have to use this song. By the way, song is copyright Judy Hope.)) *Amaera took her seat in the corner of the room again. This time however, it was her harp that she lifted, not her flute. She hesitated for a moment considering her options. She didn't much feel like reciting a story, nor did she feel like simply playing... Deciding that a simple song would be best for now, she chose one that an elven bard devoted to Corellan had taught her. Hesitating only a moment, she began playing softly. As her long and slender fingers moved over the strings with great skill, her voice rang throughout the room, clear and beautifully haunting.* "The harsh wind is dying To soft breezes sighing The wild waves so high Are now gentle and low The sun breaks the shrouds Of the dark angry clouds And a shaft of bright silver Lights the temple below." *She paused after the first verse, simply playing softly for a moment. It was then that she noticed Eldae enter the room. With a brief smile, she began again.* "And the people are singing Bright voices are ringing Songs of beginnings A new hope is born Welcome the dawning The Lord of the Morning Has brought a new day Has brought a new day And an end to the storm." *She paused once again, slowly closing her eyes as she prepared to sing the final verse. Her voice lowered a little but she remained loud enough to be heard throughout the room.* "Voices are grating Words full of hating In the heat of the moment When anger is born Now voices are gentling Words are relenting Forgiveness and friendship Come after the storm."

As the song ended, and the room burst into applause, Eldae made his way over to the elf., a feat made difficult by the number of people offering to buy her drinks. "That was a beautiful song you were singing just now," he said.
