*Amaera tried to remain modest amidst the applause and offers, but she was rather pleased with herself. She always was when she got such happy and warm responses. At least she may have gotten a few people to forget their worries for a while. She smiled brightly as she spotted Eldae approaching her.*
"That was a beautiful song you were singing just now."
*Amaera bowed her head slightly for a moment, her blue eyes twinkling merrily.* "I'm glad that you enjoyed it... I may not be talented enough to write something so beautiful but I certainly enjoy performing it. Receiving such praise makes it even better."

"Receiving such praise makes it even better."
"Well, I'm glad to hear you count my praise so highly," Eldae replied, grinning. "Music is one of those things that I could never master. I never could- ah, shall we say- 'put my mind to it'? I also could never imagine performing in front of a crowd of strangers like this." He swept his hand out in gesture at the room full of people.

"I also could never imagine performing in front of a crowd of strangers like this."
*Amaera laughed softly.* "I don't mind it so much as long as I keep in mind that I'm really comforting a crowd of strangers, not just performing." *She smiled warmly, glancing at the others in the room. She shook her head slightly, looking back to Eldae with a grin.* "Besides... For some reason I imagine looking into the minds of others proving a much more difficult task."

"Besides... For some reason I imagine looking into the minds of others proving a much more difficult task."
At that, Eldae grinned sheepishly. "Well... I can read minds, but it isn't my specialty. I can only read minds for short bursts at a time, and it is rather draining. Telepathy isn't my focus. I'm much better" Here Eldae created another red rose and handed it to Amaera. "at Metacreativity. You see, psions tend to focus on different aspects of the mind. I focus on making things. Others focus on movement, seing the future or far away places, or" Eldae grinned again. "reading people's minds."

*Amaera smiled at him, her fingertips gently tracing over the rose's silky petals.* "Honestly, I think I like your ability much better than mind reading. Our talents have more in common than most would think... You're able to bring beauty to this world and please people just as easily as I can with my music."

Eldae smiled at the bard, tears in the corners of his eyes. "You don't know how much this means to me, finally being appreciated. Most people I meet regard me as some kind of alien-power using freak. It feels so nice to finally be accepted."

*Amaera's smile brightened. She loved the feelings that blossomed inside her. Making someone feel good about who and what they are brought her more joy than anything else.* "I don't know if I could ever think of anyone as just a 'freak'... Especially you. You've only been kind and helpful since the very first words we spoke to one another. Besides, respect and acceptance shouldn't be earned. One should start out with them and only be able to lose them."

Eldae's own smile widened. "Thank you. It just feels so good to have someone to lean on, as it were." He looked outside. The sky was starting to get dark. "Looks like it is almost time to head out." Eldae said, motioning towards the window.

"Looks like it is almost time to head out."
*Amaera looked toward the window and nodded.* "Shall we then?" *With a smile, she gathered her belongings and headed out the door, eager to leave this place and see something worthy of rememberance.*

"Shall we then?"
"But of course." Eldae walked out the door and over to the fountain. The sunset played off the water, creating a beautiful effect. "Looks like Kaali isn't here yet"
(ooc: what are we going to do about sweety? according to the calendar she won't be back for almost a week)

((We could stall for a little while by having our characters talk some more and then write her in for the rest of the time until she gets back. Or we could go ahead and jump right in and write her in the whole time. Or we could just wait for her to get back. I don't care.))

As Eldae and Amaera were standing by the fountain, a young boy came running up to them. "You miss Amaera? And Mister Eldae? Got a message for you from a half-elf named Kaali. She says she took sick and asks that you wait for her. She should be better in a couple of days. She also says you'll be giving me a tip." At that Eldae grinned a little, and reaching into his coin pouch he pulled out a few gold pieces. "Wow, thank you Sir!" The messenger replied, then ran off.

*Amaera laughed softly as the boy ran off, shaking her head lightly. However, her look turned more serious as she glanced at Eldae.* "So... I suppose we'll be staying here for a while then. I'll have to visit Kaali tomorrow and see if I can cheer her up with some music..." *She didn't much care for the idea of waiting but she wasn't about to leave Kaali behind. She smiled a little, her gaze moving to the setting sun as her fingers lightly traced over the water in the fountain.*

Eldae smiled. "Your music could put a smile on the face of a demon, let alond Kaali." His smile fell. "I don't like waiting here, though. I have a feeling something will happen before we leave." When Amaera looked up at him, Eldae reasurred her. "No, I'm not trying to see the future. It is just a feeling I had. Besides," Eldae continued, "last time I tried to look into the future, I saw myself opening a door. I pondered it for ages, until I realized it was simply the door out of the room I manifested the power in."

*Amaera tried not to laugh but she couldn't help it. She felt better knowing that she wasn't standing beside some all powerful being. It lessened the gap between them and made her feel more worthy of being in his company.* "That's probably for the best... The future shouldn't be known. It takes all of the fun out of living." *She smiled softly, lowering her gaze.* "Try not to worry so much though... That takes all of the fun out of living too. If you don't know what's going to happen then you can't prevent it. So there's no use in thinking about it..."
