Galius shook his head and glared at Karsten in utter disgust that he even suggested the use of his demon to help Galius. He asked him for trust, Galius found that trust led to death, and thus he never trusted anyone anymore... He scowled and grumbled out in a murderous hiss
"I'd rather die..."

(I am not god moding, this is agreed upon with Mammoth)
Karsten smiled and added, "Well, you might just get your wish this way." Then he started to turn as if accepting the answer. But he hadn't. He knew Galius wouldn't have accepted it either way seeing as he was a demon now. Before Galius could react, Karsten turned around and held his throat and soaked his energy out, but not enough to kill him.
The amount of power that the demon leeched out of Galius was immense, too much for a simple human. Now the demon wanted to keep it, knowing he would become very powerful with this kind of power. But Karsten wouldn't have it, he forced the demon to return it even though he felt the same hunger that had risen since he had transformed.
Karsten looked back at Maukri who had caught up by now and assured her, "Relax, I am trying to heal him..." He shifted his grip to place his hand over his chest and released the energy back into the body that had gone limp.

Energy entered Galius' body as quickly as it had left, and the first thing he did was shoot to his feet, blade pulled and at Karsten's throat. It seemed that while it was against his wishes, the demon had helped him. His eyes were like fire, the red iris looking as if it was almost ablaze as he glared at Karsten. But he lowered his blade, turning to walk toward the keep that they had set out for, his mannerisms giving off a silent "thanks."
Galius had regained most of his strength, and he was surprised Karsten had such powers, but his goal was so close, he had to finish what he had begun... he had to kill his brother....

Karsten was a bit surprised by the sword that ended up on his throat. A smirk made its way on Karsten's face as Galius lowered his blade. "You are welcome...", Karsten said then looked back at where they had come from. "I... need to feed. I will catch up, you both go ahead." He turned and jumped to the roof heading in the direction he saw the most energy, which was the tail behind Carella.

Karsten would not get close to that source, however, at least not for a while; abruptly, what little sun peeked through the clouds overhead was snuffed out momentarily by a massive explosion of pure black energy around where Carella was, which spiraled skyward... taking with it many of the beasts that had been following her up until now. Those left were somewhat crippled, and the part of the city that survived the blast literally sunk many feet down, buildings falling into the crater created although there were none destroyed in it; still, the falling rubble buried any survivors near the crater who would have gotten by the blast otherwise, including the one whom was at the very center of the blast. Soon, the black energy dispersed, leaving a dark radiance in the wreckage left behind, having buried anything in the center of the explosion under ten feet of rubble or more...
Maukri stood up straight at the sight of the column, jaw dropped in awe and shock. The black sheep of her little 'family', the one she had cared for the most, was gone, just like that. Her heart sank instantly, even as her feet took her towards the blast site, where most certainly Karsten would race for also as soon as he realized what had happened to his beloved...

Galius looked over his shoulder while he moved, the explosion apparent to him that that was Carella's final strike. He nodded his head, no mourning for her, just silent remembrance. She may have been a demon, but she was his ally... No... She was a friend. It had been a long time since he felt someone was his friend, and it was fitting that she be a demon. Galius chuckled. He continued moving, not stopping for a moment to look back. She made her decision, Galius was about to make his.
Before him were the gilded gates of the jewel of the north. Funic Keep. It was still in fantastic shape, and was quite the sight to behold, its massive gates a bastion for the government that used to exist here. Galius stood at them, and with a horrifying howl, he called out to his brother.
"TREMBLE IN FEAR, BROTHER! I HAVE COME, OPEN THE GATE!"

*fine shesh...*
Karsten stopped as he saw the explosion, the power released overwhelming and drawing in his demon. "No...", he said and increased his pace to reach where the explosion had taken place. He crouched down on a crumbling wall and looked around the blast area. All the energy had dissapeared from the area. He couldn't even see a trace of Carella's energy. He sat there, shocked for a while till he heard someone behind him. He turned around to see Maukri racing toward him.
He looked down at the crater and spoke in a whisper, "It's not fair..." He turned around and started walking back towards Galius and the keep he saw in a distance. As he got closer to Maukri, he looked up at her and said in a hurt voice, "She is gone..."

Maukri tried not to show any of her own pain, which was incredibly hard as she'd gotten close to Carella. Still... "I... I know... But listen." She extended a hand to him, continuing "We have a job to do. She sacrificed herself for us to be safe for a while longer... Make what she gave you... gave us all count. Understand? I know you two became close, but she's tough. Maybe she dropped it and ran, or may-" Maukri stopped herself, tears flowing from her eyes. "No... I... I can't... not... not now... oh, my baby..."
Taking a moment to catch her breath again, the elf steeled herself once more. It wasn't just him that needed encouraging; right now, Maukri herself was on the verge of a breakdown, and every moment longer she spent here was another moment closer to her total collapse. If she was going to break down, she wanted to get through those gates first. The closer they were, the better chance they had of surviving, since the enemy had less to put between them and their goal. Finally, she simply uttered in a cold but shaky voice "Lets go... kill that b-bastard. Make him p-pay for all he's done did to us an' everyone else."

He wished what she was saying was true, that she had somehow gotten away even though his vision was empty. There was no sign of Carella for a long way. Yet, he hoped that somehow she was masking her energy and that she was still alive. He put a consoling hand on Maukri's shoulder as she began to cry. Though he let go quickly enough once he saw her harden again, become the way he knew her to be.
She had gained a lot of respect from the demon in him and Karsten as well, to show such strength in face of a personal loss. It seemed she loved her 'daughter' more than she let on. "He looked towards the gate as it came in view again and said, "Yes, he will pay." His voice had changed but it wasn't just the demon who was angry this time. He looked at Maukri once as they reached near Galius and thought of asking her to go back to her home, take care of her the others but he knew the answer he would get and decided to keep quiet.
Besides, he had a hunch they would need her help before the end. He approached the gate and took hold of the two vertical bars that ran through it. He changed form again and growled loudly, challenging the tenant to open it. He began pulling the gate out, the metal creaking, the sound echoing through the now empty corridors behind them.

Galius burst through the corridor, cutting down cult members as they charged them through the opened gate. These cultists were no match for the fighters that had fought tooth and nail through the best that Warric had to offer. These final few were the remains, the last stand, the final wall before they could face that which they had journeyed so far to face. Galius stopped as the men paused, all falling to the ground. At the end of the castle corridor stood Warric, smiling as he called to his brother.
"Come! Fight your way to my throne, and we shall end this!"
Instantly, the men started convulsing on the ground, rolling over and spitting out as they shot to their feet, almost as if they were puppets, being controlled by a puppeteer. Galius cut every one down that got in his way, only killing enough to carve a path through the hallway. He left behind Karsten and Maukri, his bloodlust and anger fueling his fury. Finally, after making it untouched to the end of the corridor, and seemingly like he had never lifted a finger. There was no avoiding Galius, and Warric knew this, so rather than to waste time watching his followers fall, he decided it was time to get his own hands dirty. Standing beside him were two of his most horrid abominations ((These will be for you two to fight, i leave their descriptions to you)). Warric pulled his swords.
"So you finally have reached me!" Warric said, walking down from his high point, "You have set me back a great deal, Galius. I was on the way to returning order to this hellhole, and you have put an end to most of my plans. But no matter... I can fix this in mere weeks. Last chance brother, Join me, and from the ashes of hell we will raise a paradise!"
Galius spit on the ground.
"Very well then, goodbye brother!"
Warric and Galius both disappeared, and the clash of blades echoed across the room from different spots.

It wasn't so much strength of body or even strength of mind that was keeping her moving at the moment; it was a will hardened by losses in the past, although nothing near as painful as this. They had a ways ahead of them, and if Maukri broke down now, then everything would be over for her. She would fall without hardly a fight, and that would be that. Maybe she'd even become one of-
"no" she spoke out loud quietly to herself, not even wanting that to enter her mind, knowing that such thoughts would only drag her down. Pushing herself forward, the elven woman felt stirring within her, which only drove her to move quicker. Something was ahead, something she was to face and either defeat... or be defeated. Making it alongside Karsten just as the battle began, she looked forward to see two of the most hideous things that she'd ever laid eyes upon; however, only one seemed to be looking at her (have fun knight xP).
This one looked like an armored lizard, but it was huge, with no arms and one huge, gaping jaw that opened up sideways, decked out in what appeared to be something just shy of a gimp suit. As it dashed at her, the freak moved much to fast to simply be that; in a heartbeat, she dodged to the side, even as an extremely long, horrid-looking tongue lashed out, attaching itself to her leg and pulling the woman closer- presumably to devour her. "Like hell!" Mau *needed a shorter name x-o* screamed, bringing the sharp part of her bow down upon the wet, writhing extension, splicing it neatly as the beast screamed in agony, she herself jumping to her feet even as the acidic saliva bit into her leg.
Yanking the bloody thing from her leg, she took note that only the metal shin guards were melting, and immediately removed them. In fact, she quickly removed whatever else had been protecting her, dropping it as she backed up. Even in the darkness, her skin seemed to glow dully as it was exposed, the creature she was battling stepping ever closer to its 'prey'. It would find this one, however, to be a more difficult quarry than others it'd attacked in the past. Testing the strength of the 'skin'- if it could even be called that- Maukri fired off two or three arrows, the last one at the highest tension she could muster; none even scratched the surface, let alone make a breakthrough.
"Great" she mumbled to herself as the elf quickly took stock of her surroundings; no doubt this thing could climb, but could it outrace an elven archer on an adrenaline rush? She wanted so badly to find that out... Moving faster than most could think, Mau grabbed the side of the brick-and-mortar building behind her and scaled the wall as fast as she could, moving like a spider even as the rumblings of the beast down below could be heard. As she scrambled over the top, something familiar that happened to be red shot past her, digging itself into the roof even as the beast below began bellowing, running up the side of the structure- which was a good three or four stories high. "Marvelous" she mumbled, firing a few arrows at the tongue but seemingly having no effect.
Not wanting to stick around much longer, Maukri ran, leaping to the next rooftop even as the freak pounded its way to where she had been, screaming like a beast in the furthest depths of Hell...

The sound had brought a large force of cult members who were now staring at a humanoid beast ripping open their gate. Within moments the gate was hanging from its hinges but still blocking their way. Karsten let go and dug his shoulder in the crack, bursting through suddenly, the gates swinging widely before falling off to the ground, detached from its hinges. Before he could recover and get back on his feet, Galius had already burst forward and started cutting a path through to the thrown.
The demon was screaming to be let free to feed and Karsten didn't see a point in stopping him seeing as they would need the strength for what seemed to be the final battle. The demon went berserk attacking the cult members one by one, their weapons useless against his hardened exoskeleton. He leeched off as many as he could, filling himself with energy before be saw the beasts Warric had unleashed. One took off after Maukri. Karsten would have helped till be heard the challenging hiss from the other.
As the snake began uncoiling itself, it revealed its true size. Its body was encircled around the corners of the room they stood in. The front was a three headed serpent, the eyes glowing yellow in the darkness around him. It hissed again only to flare up its scale to display the razor sharp small edges spread across it.
Karsten remained in his form, having enough energy to keep it up now. He snarled before lunging towards the head it crush them but was stopped as he was caught in mid air by the tail and constricted before he could even realize what was going on. The skin began grating against his hardened skin but didn't manage to cut him still. So the serpent started tightening the noose around him, trying to crush him to death instead.
Having his hand caught in the hold beside his body, Karsten couldn't do much in terms of an attack but when the hold tightened he let out a growl and followed the instinct that had risen up in him. He leaned forward and bit down on the skin with his teeth. The sharp spines dug into his mouth but he knew he could heal them as they would be very deep. He tasted his own blood mixed his something else in his mouth and hoped it would be enough for the serpent to release or loosen its hold on his arms.

In the gray visioned world where Galius and Warric clashed, they moved around the room, a classic swordfight ensuing. With every blow, the two countered and deflected the others attacks before finally they had to return to normal speed. Standing behind the throne, Galius and Warric interlocked blades, staring each other down, the blue eyes of Warric to the red of Galius.
"You've gotten faster, brother." Warric remarked, breaking the deadlock by stepping back, "But i've gotten smarter..." He said, stepping on a panel in the ground that launched arrows at Galius' position from behind him. Before he knew what was happening, Galius was rolling to the side, arrows whizzing by him. Without a second to waste, Warric had come forward, striking with a fury as Galius could only defend. Galius rolled back and kicked Warric in the chin as he rolled to his feet, out of target of the arrows.
Warric charged and Galius tossed his blade in the air. Warric looked up for a split second and knew exactly what was coming. He blocked Galius' attack at the last second and countered with a swift slash across his back. Galius fell to the ground, rolling to his feet as the hot feeling of blood came down his back. Warric smiled as Galius' sword stuck into the ground behind him.
"So foolish of you, brother... Now you have only one sword with which to fight..."
Galius disappeared again, and Warric soon after him. The gray of the time-deprived world again rang out with the clash of blades, the two brothers equal on almost every level. Warric swung his blades high and low, attempting to take advantage of Galius' one handed fight. But his zeal led to carelessness. Warric lunged forward in a strike, and when Galius deflected and dodged to the side, he elbowed Warric in the neck. Warric stumbled forward and narrowly deflected a strike that would have severed his head as he stumbled backwards. Falling to the ground, Warric flipped up to his feet as Galius pulled his second sword from the ground.
The two again stood in the color, facing each other among the chaos. Warric, unharmed, and Galius bleeding from a large gash all the way across his back.
"Look at you, how do you expect to beat me, you're nothing more than a brute, swinging his blades with so-called precision. You have nothing on me..." Warric laughed, waiting as Galius came forth.
Galius swung high with his right and across the side with his left, both blows deflected as expected, but the cross kick to Warric's midsection was not. Warric was hurled back and coughed as the strike knocked out his wind. Galius was getting tired, all the phase-shifting was taking its toll. He knew if he tried again soon he may not come back out of it. But he also knew his brother couldn't either. He slashed at Warric, who was now on the defensive, but couldn't land a blow to the gasping brother. Even with the current state, Warric disappeared again, Galius knowing he had to follow or die. When he entered, he had only a second to deflect a blow in front of his face, causing him to roll backwards back onto his feet, only to deflect a second shot.
Again, the brothers deadlocked, leaving their time-lapsed world.
Warric continued to talk...
"How many more times shall we do it brother? Fighting for eternity in a time-lock would be interesting... Can you chance it? I know my limits, the question is, do you?" Warric said, laughing.
Galius twisted his blades and kneed Warric in the side, rolling around the side and managing to land a strike to the side of his leg. Warric returned with a kick to the side of Galius' head that sent him spinning. Before he could gain his bearing, he crossed his blades to prevent Warric from coming down on his head with his...

Maukri was preoccupied with her own issues, which mainly consisted of a very large lizard with a very grotesquely-overgrown tongue. And she was running out of arrows. This new abomination landed on the roof behind her and screeched at her, right before charging head-long at her. Nothing she did seemed to be stopping it; her arrows bounced off its thick hide, the tongue had regenerated, and even the lucky one shot that went into its mouth simply got stuck. She was quickly running out of options...
In her distraction, the freak gained on her, knocking her off the roof and into the side of the next building, where she hung on a windowsill for her life, not wanting to drop fifty feet to the ground in her condition. That bastardy tongue whipped out, lashing the wall just next to her head. However, Mau managed to get a foothold, and pulled herself up just as the tongue lashed out again like that of a chameleon's, hitting nothing but stucco where her body should have been. The stuff was eating away at the walls, however, so she didn't have much time.
Rather abruptly, the thing lashed its tongue through the open window, narrowly missing her head by barely an inch but catching a few of the hairs- which instantly disintegrated- and whipped itself around an overhead beam, pulling tight as it yanked its huge mass through the window somehow. Maukri instantly dove for cover as glass shards, stucco, wood, and all sorts of other things flew about as the armored turd flew through the window with the grace and finesse of an enraged elephant. "Gee, how great it would be to have flaming arrows right now," she thought to herself, backing up to the door behind her, "but no, you had to go and waste them all on potshots that didn't really do much but piss those bastards- Oh sh**ohsh**ohsh**sh**SH**!!!"
The huge thing got itself dislodged from its party-crashing routine, and was on its feet in a heartbeat, charging straight for Maukri. With no time to think, she dove out of the way, starting to tire greatly by now but still managing somehow to stay upright... Thinks just kept getting better and better.
Now with only four or five arrows left in the quiver- she'd lost half of them diving her ass out of the way several times- Mau needed these to count. Pulling one, she took aim just as the freak turned and charged her, its mouth gaping wide open. Even as she turned her bow sideways to hopefully keep it from crushing her immediately, Maukri couldn't help but shake that feeling that this was how she was going to die...

The serpent did loosen its grip, enough for Karsten to free his hands from his sides. But it also came at him to tear apart his face with its fangs. Karsten was sure that if the venom of this beast made it into him, even the demon couldn't have saved him. There would have been no time for it. With his hands free, Karsten was fortunate enough to catch hold off the two fangs with them. What he didn't expect was the jerk that came next. The serpent lifted its head high up, lifting Karsten along with it still holding on to the fangs.
It tried to shake him away but Karsten gripped the two fangs tighter and never slipped. The serpent was getting furious now, lashing out its tail at the walls. Karsten was aware that the two other heads were of no use at this point to the beast. They possibly couldn't bite each other.
Then the motions suddenly stopped at the snake bowed its heads suddenly, trying to slam Karsten to the ground, crushing him. Karsten had to think quick. He swung his legs and jumped down the throat of the middle head. He would have been dissolved if he had reached the stomach but Karsten had dug its claws in the neck lining of the beast. The beast cried out in pain as Karsten began ripping the snake from inside.
It was just luck that when Karsten bore through the snake, cutting it in half, he was low enough to have taken all three sections or heads. The snake's body went limp as a goo covered Karsten emerged from the shreds of the the body. He took deep breaths before he looked around and saw Galius bleeding. He growled and said, "Need a hand?" He didn't wait for an answer as he started running towards the two, claws dripping with the discolored blood of beast.
