Captain Takeshi walked up the ramp of the Largos. It was a smaller frigate, but still impressive considering it was inside a larger ship. The compact design didn't allow for any crew quarters though, so it was a short range vessel. Like most frigates, it was designed around it's primary weapon. A cannon large enough to punch holes in anything that wasn't shielded. This cannon was a new model though. It was more compact while packing a larger punch than standard Oracle's Guard frigates. Takeshi had asked for a more standard designed frigate, but Admiral Rouge had decided to go ahead with using mostly experimental or otherwise untested equipment for both the Ulysses and the Largos.
Takeshi saluted Ice when he reached the top of the ramp. "Good work. Let's get this boat in the air." He headed for the bridge - just a short walk away - and asked the pilot to leave his seat. Taking up the controls himself, Takeshi initiated the pre-launch procedures. An alarm went off in the hangar signaling that the Largos would soon be closing its cargo ramp and the Ulysses would be opening the hangar door. "Just like old times" he muttered to himself.

Looking up from the surface of the third moon, a few marines stood in awe as the Ulysses came into view. Their lookout tower was the only one in operation that day, and they had wished that they had followed orders instead and had all of them up and running. They turned on the beacon to let the Ulysses know where to send the dropship they were expecting. They were even more awestruck, however, when they saw the Largos launch out of the side of the Ulysses. It had a graceful arrowhead silhouette. It seemed to dive towards the moon like the divers of the old Olympic Games of Terra, slowly rotating around so that it came level with the surface of the moon. It glided down silently, then touched down on the landing pad with only a dull thud.
:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::
Takeshi opened a channel to the ship. "Attention, we have landed at Lookout Tower Three, prepare to disembark." With that he left the ship in the XO's command and headed for the cargo bay.

Ted Boyd took in his surroundings as he stepped off the spaceship. What a change! For five years, he had made ends meet by selling old junk - er, 'antiques' - to fools with too much money. Only two weeks ago, he ran out of money, and feared the prospect of getting back to his boring old job. Then it turned out the Army really liked an old article he wrote in a run-down pub on Krakon and had offered him this assignment - an archaeologist's dream! A push in his back quickly returned Ted to the real world. "Move it fatty, you're holding up the rest". Ted mumbled a quick apology and started looking around for the other archaeologists.

((how long has he been in the rp? lol))
The Janitor pulled his hover cart off of the exit ramp slowly, being careful not to drop anything.
"I am setting up a repairs center over here!" He announced, moving his supplies under a small overhang, and going back to the ship to get more equipment to set up camp.

((Read the discussion thread.))
Takeshi walked down the ramp, shooting a glare at the person that had gotten impatient with Ted. He did a quick inspection of the landing pad to make sure everything was as it should be. Just as he finished, three marines from the tower arrived at the pad. They saluted Takeshi as he approached them. Returning the salute, Takeshi asked where the commanding officer was.
"Sir, she's gone missing" the marine in the center replied.
Takeshi eyed them with a hint of curiosity mixed with annoyance. "How long ago?"
Another marine spoke this time; the one on the left. "About two days ago, sir. She told us she was going to inspect the disturbance herself. We were instructed to activate the distress beacon if she did not return within forty-eight hours. We just hit that point about an hour ago."
Takeshi nodded. "All right, return to your post. Keep an active comm line open with the Largos" he said as he waved in the direction of the ship. "The Largos will keep the Ulysses up to date."
The marine on the right stared in amazement at Takeshi. "You mean that ship we saw was the Ulysses? Amazing..." He looked up at the small form of the Ulysses still visible in its geosynchronous orbit. Takeshi looked the marine directly in the eyes. "Oh! My apologies, sir" he said with a hasty salute. "I didn't mean to..."
Takeshi cut him off with a wave. "It's alright. The Ulysses is one of a kind. Just get back to your station and you can admire her all you want." He turned back to the Largos as the marines left. "Hey, is the team ready to move?" he shouted.

Illimana walked into main cargo doing the newly learnt Oracle's Guard Salute infront of Tekashi,
"Sir... I'd like to get onto the team being launched... I've been told that I could do good with my hand computor and rifle sir... I'll help with eventuall repairs of the site sir..." he stated eye to eye with Tekashi, "I trust whatever you say Captain, but I think I am really needed in this... I don't want in because of the action sir!" Illimana spoke tall and kept his face neutral,
The noisy room could have driven him mad, these short seconds felt like forever as he stood with Unarmed except for his computor and the a Light Armor Suit to his protection only!
((OOC: Sorry for the bad Intro... I just felt like getting him impulsive, you'll see in a flashback soon no matter the answer...))

Ice stepped off of the frigate and walked over to the Captain. His rifle was ready to be raised at any moment as Ice's eyes searched the surroundings. He dismissed the presence of the other Marines, only noting that his own sniper team was behind him and just as observant. A few of them already had their rifles raised. It might look wierd, but it was a Marine's impulse to do it after infantry school.
"Sir, where do you want us?"

Takeshi returned Illimana's salute. "Don't worry. You're already part of the away team. You'll be working mostly with Garet and the other archaeologists. Unless..." He paused as Ice approached. "Ice, perfect timing. What would you say to having some advanced scanning gear come with us when we go to find Lieutenant Commander Grace? Illimana here happens to be the best computer operator in the fleet." He gestured towards Illimana so Ice knew who he was. "Of course, we'll need to have a couple of the archaeologists come along as well. Maybe Garet and Ted? Hmmm..." He paused in thought for a moment. Pressing his communicator and directing the channel to The Janitor, he continued. "Janitor, bring one of your carts with some of the more mobile equipment. Grab a scanner too. We're going on a field trip." He pressed the communicator to shut off the transmission. "Ice, you know your team better than I do. You also know more about what snipers are good at. You send your team wherever they're needed, but you'll be coming with me." He smiled at the idea of the first away team the Ulysses had ever sent out. His visor was still closed, so only his lower face was clearly visible. "Where did Garet get off to?"

"Shut it, big mouth," Garet said to the Marine who jabbed Ted. He had gottne onto the ship quietly and thought about a few things, but not for long considering it was a rather short drop in the Largos. He had seen the marine jab Mike on the way down the ramp.
"This is the field, soldier boy. If your not careful and make friends, you may not like it if you find you have no friends. Especially if thinds hit the fan down here, you get my meaning..." Garet continued. It was a mild tell off, and a clear warning: Don't make enemies if you can help it or it could cost you your life.
The soldier muttered quick apologies, more because of Captain Takeshi glaring at him than Garet's little tirade, and continued on.
"I'm Garet, the head archaeologist for this mission. Hey, he quicly added, recognition coming to him,"Aren't you that guy that wrote the article on the Krakon? Ted Boyd?"
Garet heard his name a realized that Captain Takeshi had said it. Garet waved his arm let him know where he was. He had only heard his name, after all....

Ted smiled at the recognition. "Yes, yes, fascinating history. I really love those old superweapons. That's why I love this assignment. You're the head of the mission? Pleased to meet you." he said.
Ted heard his name. "We're being called. I'm going to the captain, I think we're going to the ruins soon."

"Alright, on my way." The Janitor said, flicking the on switch to one of the ready hover carts that were being parked outside his small post.
"Charlie Murphy! I am leaving you incharge until I get back." Turning to his second in command, Corporal Murphy, he said, giving his "apprentice" the chance he has always wanted. When he reached Ice and the team he was going off with, he decided to sit on his cart, letting it haul him and his cargo while using a joy stick to control it.
"This can also be used to carry wounded..." He added randomly.

Illimana spaced over and around and found some guy waving after speaking with Takeshi, *Garet?, Must be...* he thought as he waved back to him, "So, Captain, you mean I am going with the marines?" Illimana spoke questioning, his face was pleased with the news and as of this awaiting reply of Takeshi's... Looking around as a patrol ship entered the hangar, the jets changed direction as the pilot started the landing... *hm...* Illimana thought, he'd only been here for 2 days, and this was his first true peak in the whole hangar...
((Sorry missed that one, But I shouldn't had missed it... But I changed that little thing so...))

((Gin... the group is on the ground... on a landing pad on Neo Terra's 3rd moon >.> ))
Takeshi waved back to Garet, motioning for him to come over with Ted. "That you are, Illimana. We're going to look a little deeper into this place." He waited for everyone to gather. "Okay, we're going to be heading a little deeper into the dig site. Our primary goal is to find Lieutenant Commander Grace, but our secondary goal is to figure out what happened here. Illimana, you're in charge of our scanning equipment. Also, the archaeologists may need assistance with something that you can do, so please help them. Garet, Ted, you two are just going to keep an eye out for anything interesting. I'll leave the definition of interesting up to you two. Go ahead and let us know if we need to stop for you to examine something or flag a location to return to. Janitor, you're the lockpick. You get us in and keep our exit open. Ice, you and I are the muscle. We keep everyone safe, just in case. Everyone ready?"

"I am ready." The Janitor said, handing a scanner to Illimana.
"So will there be a gate i need to jack open or will i need to blow on?

Garet's sensing just suddenly picked up. He had coem over with Ted and now that he knew someone was missing, this just became military. His own military training allowed him to sharpen his own senses to where he could detect small things that would normally go unnoticed. Now it seemed that he was going to need those senses.
Garet just nodded when Takeshi gave his intructions. It seemed that this was a search and rescue, but why would someone have goen missing? Cave-in, maybe? The only thing he could think of was to kepp his eyes and ears open when they got to the site...

Illimana nodded in agreement and saluted Takeshi and asked, "Where to now?" he said after taking the scanner Janitor gave... He took a short moment to check out the Scanner and his own equipment... *Good, check... Check and Done...* He thought...
