I've got the basic set up for both of 'em done, I just want to know if anyone would be interested.
One is a modern fantasy roleplay that will hopefully span the globe. At this point, I'm calling it Saxum Fatale. In kind of the... Epilogue (as it were), we're introduced to a very, very young Crimthann Fairradeach, and his father. His father is a thief, and a good one at that. The most recent acquisitions of his are two of the fabled "Treasures of Ireland", the Stone of Fal and the Spear of Lugh. Bad guys break in, Crimthann is hidden away with the stone, and baddies kill/remove his father, taking the Spear with them.
Fast forward some twenty years, and Crimthann is out to get the Four Treasures of Ireland back, with a small gang of thieves.
What I essentially imagine is a group, or multiple groups, going after mythical treasures; and possibly some inter-group combat situations. But, I'm really just kicking this around.
Basically: Role playing an international crime story, set in a modern-fantasy world.
The other one is as of yet, unnamed.
The basic story is (I hate to say it) A bit of a rip off of the matrix. It's a future fantasy, post apocalyptic thing. I've got a fairly long-winded exposition of the plot, but I'll simplify it as much as I can. To fight wars, humanity created machines capable of critically thinking and evaluating combat scenarios. The machines are created in man's likeness. In order to prevent the machines from turning against their creators, they are programmed to enjoy the killing.
But, the Assassins eventually think: if killing gives me pleasure, why just kill my "Enemy?"
Humanity is overrun, so on.
The war is essentially tears the planet apart, and neither side has an edge on the other. To combat the Assassins, the Humans reopen a project that was turned down in favor of the robot killers. The SuperHuman Advanced Destructibility Experiment, or S.H.A.D.E.. Humans in the project are subjected to experiments to increase their physical abilities, as well as latent abilities such as psychokinesis.
Subjects for the experiment are hand picked for their abilities, and their abilities are basically customized by the procedure. Subjects are codenamed Shades.
So, players will have the choice of playing as Assassins, Shades, Humans, or another race (As long as that race is feasible.). Also, I don't really like calling the machines Assassins, so I'm VERY open to alternative names.
I have a few more ideas, but these are the ones I've been thinking about right now.
Anyone interested, at all?
