((This is set before the three movies and none of the main characters from the movies will have any major part to play in the story. No Neo-like characters allowed, meaning no one with the power to fly, dodge bullets like an agent, etc.))
*A woman walked through the streets of Zion, dressed in rather worn out clothing and carrying a large bag over one shoulder. It was easy to see that she was one of the many that had been freed from the Matrix, not one born of Zion. Although the plugs that lined her arms and spine were well hidden by her clothing, her hair only reached her chin and her eyes were darkened by the trauma of having her mind unlearn an entire lifetime. Her expression was hard and unchanging as she wove her way through the people, heading in the direction of the dock. Her pace was quick, as she was determined to reach her destination as soon as possible.
Finally, it came into view... She hurried toward the ship although when she finally reached it she couldn't help but stop dead in her tracks. Her eyes roamed over the entire length of the ship in front of her... The Charon. It was beautiful. Finally, she would be doing something to repay the civilization that had freed her. She had been training for such a long time. She could only hope that this would work out. Adjusting her bag on her shoulder, Nyx walked up the boarding ramp, anxious to meet the captain and crew and hopefully, set herself up with a job among them.*

Codek, the decker in the group, sat in her usually spot nearby the dive seats. Her oddly colored hair wisked around her shoulders as she went over a log of the last code she read. It was a simple one, calling agent's over to were the man she had injected was, and the accuracy of her reading and prediction was entirely amazing. She looked up from her spot as a woman walked up the ramp.
Immediately she stood up, moving the log underneath a book laid out on her table area. "Hello? You lost or something?" She asked the woman, moving over to were she stood.

*Nyx looked at the woman that approached her, studying her carefully.* "Not at all. I was told that the captain of this ship was looking for another crew member... specifically someone with extensive combat training. I'm here to apply for the job." *She held out her hand.* "My name is Nyx..."

"OH! Well then pleased to meet you!" She said, taking the poor girls hand and shaking wildly. She had a sort of mad gleem in her eye's, but she laughed it off. "Sorry about that...yeah our last combat dude got fried..." She says, pointing to the dive-chair with a burnt out port, "But that was because i missed something on this one string of code, BUT! Thanks to my idea that won't be happening again..." Codek finishes taking a breath and pulling the log out. She quickly showed it to Nyx, just giving her a peek. She pointed to a line that was totally diferent from theo ther's. "This code got 'im...but don't worry, im one of the best decker's around, so your safe. Just um...don't get...what's the word? Blown up? Yeah! Don't get blown to tiny peice's, its much harder to put back together and get back then the full body..." She finishes off with another mad smile. Looks like years in the matrix drove this woman insane, but its really hard to tell.

*Nyx raised an eyebrow at this woman's peculiar behavior and appearance, but she tried not to seem rude; she wanted this job bad enough to get along with just about anyone.* "Thanks for the warning, but I don't plan on getting blown up or fried. I know how to handle myself in dangerous situations."

Codek chuckled at Nyx. "Oh...don't mind me..." She said, pointing her in the direction of the bridge. "You'll see the captian up there...have a nice time!" She said, giggling dementedly and turning back to her terminal.

*Not sure what to think of this strange woman, Nyx simply gave her a brief nod.* "Right... Thanks..." *Shifting her bag slightly, Nyx walked in the direction she had been pointed, eager to get accquainted with the ship and finally get to work...*

"OH! And they call me Codek!" She says to Nyx as she walks off, laughing slightly before her features become serious all of a sudden. "I hope i don't mess up...i would hate to fry her..." she mutters softly to herself, a tear coming to her right eye.

Ket walked out of his cockpit and almost ran right into the newcomer. Backing up almost before he walked into her he cleared his throat in slight embarrasment and said in his baritone voice.
"Hello there. And who might you be?"

*Nyx immediately straightened when she realized that the man in front of her must be the captain. Suddenly quite tense and serious, she quickly replied to his question.* "The name is Nyx, sir. I'm here to apply for a position in your crew."

Ket smiled at the discipline obviously drilled in this girl.
"Chill Nyx. We're relaxed here. No need for 'sir' if you are just respectful. Now, what is your speciality, Nyx?"
As Ket said the last question he walked past Nyx and into the main decking area where there was more space then in the hallway where they had met. He turned around, tilted his head a bit to the right and raised his eyebrows in a 'well?' sort of way.

*Nyx kept her eyes on this captain, studying him carefully as she responded.* "My greatest skill lies in melee combat." *She had to pause to keep from adding another "sir" to the end of her statement.* "However, I'm nearly as skilled in hand-to-hand and ranged combat as well. You'll find that I'm quite efficient both in and out of the Matrix, captain."

*From behind Nyx's back Codek rolled across the hallway in her swivel chair and threw the Captian the 'Thumb's up', before rolling into the maintenance area and flying off her chair. Later, a loud crash and the sound of metal clanging on metal was heard from her location, followed by her usual "IM OK!" Saying.*

Ket stifled a snicker and grinned at Nyx.
"Welcome aboard mate. I warn you, this is no party ship. We have our humor and our jokes, as have already seen but when we crack down, we crack down. Understood?"

*Nyx gave a brief but firm nod.* "Of course, captain. I wouldn't expect anything less."
