You may choose to join either side, the Byzantines, or the Praetorians. Having Byzantine generals or elite warriors would be very interesting for anyone playing as a Praetorian. An army numbering merely a thousand fights against an incredible force. 400,000 Byzantine footmen, cavalary, archers...the works... Everything you could possibly imagine against 1,000 men/women. All elite warriors, trained extensively to be the ultimate killing machine. Yes, this is a crummy take off of 300 It takes place in a large valley, surrounded by snow covered mountains. On the plains snow is abundant as well. The elite force gathers at one end of the valley, while the first 50,000 troops gather at the oher. The Byzantine troops slowly advance on the Praetorians (yes that is a Roman unit, however it's being used as the "Good guy" army in this.) As they meet, they clash, and clash hard, and the fighting begins...

The commander, Shirazuki, stood ready with his spear out at hand, watching as the Byzantines forces grow nearer, he readied himself. Spear out towards the enemies, his sheild raised to cover his head to his toes. Once the enemies got within spear range, Shirazuki threw his spear out, killing a Byzantine foot soldier as the enemy kept comming. "Today, no one dies in my army. Push these enemies back!"

Theseus raised his shield, soon followed by the Byzantine forces slamming against the Praetorian shields. He instantly dug his feet into the ground, kicking up dirt at the same time, and forcing them back, so far the only casualty was done by his commander. Once the Praetorians had shoved them back once, they lowered their shields, slaughtering without mercy or regret. Theseus did the same, raising his sword into a footmen's chest, and impaling another in the neck. He tore his sword out of the man's neck and raised his shield again to block an incoming strike.
Behind the Praetorians were two archer towers, set up at the entrance of the valley, firing fire arrows into the oncoming Byzantine army. It was all utter chaos...

Shirazuki lowered his shield once more, throwing his spear out into a Byzantine's forehead, then pulling the spear out, he raised his shield. Blocking the attack from a foot soldier of the Byzantine. "Come on men, push back these cowards!"

Hearing the chant of his commander he was motivated to push the Byzantines back. As he pushed, he could feel his comrades, behind and beside him doing the same to push them back once more. Everything stopped. It was quiet for 2...3...seconds...And with a sudden flurry of movement the entire Byzantine army was pushed backwards. With that Praetorians, ran into the crowds slaying all in their path, screaming fierce battle cries that could strike fear into the heart of the bravest. Theseus was one of the first, charging in hew slew, without remorse, without pity. It was one way or another, stabbing, cutting, gouging, impaling. He spun numerous times, blocking or dodging every attack that came his way, and before long his sword was completely painted in blood. Using his shield, he knocked one footman's helmet off, stabbed another behind him, and using a shield, ducked under a warrior that charged at him, pushing him up and over Theseus to the ground behind him. The man fell onto one of the Praetorian's spears. Theseus continued his slaughter mercislessly...

The Byzantines kept trying to push, but the Preatorians were still too overpowering. "Keep this up men!" Shirazuki shouted, as he threw his spear into another footmen's throat, raising his sheild to his head as he blocked a sword. He laughed as he slew and slaughtered a few more enemies as he kept killing, without remorse nor feelings for the men he was killing. "Give them no mercy!" He killed one more as he watched his men kill some as well.

Before long, the first wave had been pushed back. The Praetorians took no casualties. The Byzantine, thousands. For now, the enemy was trying to regroup, reorganize and, prepare for the next wave. The Praetorians were now scattered about the field closely, killing off the wounded and suffering.
Theseus walked triumphantly, his shield and sword spattered with blood. He stepped over corpse after corpse, looking for anyone who might be wounded. Seeing one man, he jabbed his sword's tip through the man's visor of his helmet, penetrating his skull and allowing him peace with death. The Praetorians gathered afterward and reformed their ranks, waiting restlessly for the next attack.
((Shirazuki is one my friend's that I know. the only reason he got on here really was just because the place we usually RP at was down. Unless he makes a post within the next day I'm going to be taking over command. If he returns after that, he may resume command.))

The sounds of armor clanking and swords clashing sounded in her ears. There were screams and agonized moans coming from beyond the hill, she heard again. They were familiar...just like the ones she saw and heard before. The smell was getting stronger at every step she took; it was just beyond the hill before her. Everything seemed to be getting redder every second, but she proceeded on.
She soon reached there, the tip of the hill, and before her...was the battle being played before her very eyes. "Another war..."
Two different forces, both with opposing ideas and beliefs, fighting it out in a war. It was always like this, and it kills so many. Before this, she would try to stop them, but now she found it useless. Humans have so little time to stop and listen to her, for they would be killed the next second. Why would they bother? The moment a battle begins, it is no longer a battle to prove rights. It is survival of the fittest.
She stood there, watching them below her like the Watcher above would do. They were small, pathetic, and insignificant, she thought, but you still wish to prove your strength in this fruitless battle.
The white flowers of the battleground were slowly crushed, their beauty fading away as the crimson blood spilled across their very petals.
"Purity hath gone," she murmured softly.

As he waited apprehensively for the next wave, an awkward feeling came upon him. A feeling he couldn't quite explain. He stood a slight bit higher, still keeping the Praetorians in perfect position, and looked around the battlefield. Over each hill and across each valley he saw nothing. And then a small figure far, far away caught his attention. Theseus could not recognize it, so he assumed it to be a statue from years passed and ignored it. As he looked back towards the Byzantine army, they began their charge, coming closer....closer...closer....until they slammed into the Praetorians. Again, the screams of the Byzantine troops could be heard, and again the Praetorians roared with triumph.
