His father yelled and slammed a yellow paper onto the kitchen table. He had really done it this time... expulsion... not for a semester or anything, but for the rest of the year... of course he had expected it after what he did.
"YOU BROKE HIS ARM DARREN! What could drive you to do something like that?! I don't even care how you did it, but WHY?! What could have snapped in your head that would make you do that?! Did you even think of the consequences?! Not only are you expelled, but now WE have to pay the hospital bills because you were so foolish! We're lucky we're not being sued! I can't believe..."
Darren tuned out the rest of what his father said, honestly not giving a crap. His father had yelled at him so many times over the past 3 years that he had grown used to it, and actually expected it... didn't mean he cared about it...
Then there was his mother... she never yelled at him, but she had this look that ate away at Darren, though he never admitted it. He would never admit that his mother could sometimes make him regret his actions. Now was one of those times where he felt a tiny twinge of guilt. She was just looking at him with her large blue eyes, shrink-wrapped in tears ready to fall, and he felt bad... kind of...
One thing about Darren Michaels, he never regretted a single thing he did. He knew what he was doing before he ever did it, and he never regretted it afterwards... but his mother would make him understand sometimes that it wasn't right... he may not have cared... but he understood.
After a few more minutes of his father screaming at him, Darren got bored pretending to listen and just walked away, ignoring his fathers yelling at him to stop his ass and get back there.
His back was to his parents when he heard his father start to come after him, but like always, his mother stopped him, not wanting any more anger in her house... sometimes she was just too sweet...
Darren went up to his room and shut and locked his door, hopping into his bed once inside. He pulled his knife from a his bedside table and examined it, shining it and then sharpening it.
How had he broken that kids arm... he didn't understand it either, he didn't even know why... he just felt an intense anger and then the kid was on the ground cradling his arm. Darren didn't even realize he had done it until people started yelling that he was gonna get expelled for it.
Sighing, he just shook his head. Things happened... Darren stood up and walked over to his dart board.
He couldn't help what happened in his life... sometimes, things just happened to him he couldn't explain, so he ignored it and moved on. He threw the dart at the board, hitting it in one of the black squares outside the bulls-eye.
His mind was lost in deep thought for quite awhile. By the time he came back to the real world, the moon was large and bright, high in the sky.
"sh**... what time is it?" Darren looked over to his clock... midnight.
*I should probably get some sleep tonight...* he thought boredly, and was about to get undressed and get into bed, when he heard his front door open and close...
"what the hell..." he was confused, then he heard talking from downstairs. His room was close to the stairs in the living room so it was easy to hear what was going on, but things were still jumbled.
Quietly, Darren opened his bedroom door and peaked his head through.
"fine..." he heard his father sighed, "we'll send him to your school..."
"you should have sent him sooner, as soon as he entered high school. I don't care why you didn't, but he must go now. I just hope it isn't too late to reverse the process." Darren looked confused at his stairs. He had never heard that voice before... it sounded familiar, but he knew he couldn't place it. It was a woman's voice, and he could tell by the way she spoke that she was extremely angry.
He heard the woman sigh. "I have to go... just make sure he's at the train station tomorrow with his things at precisely 6 o'clock. The train won't wait for him. When he arrives at his school I will be there to escort him to our academy and once there he will begin his education. Good night Mr. and Mrs. Michaels." he then heard the front door open and close again, and moved to his window to see who it was that left, but to his shock, he didn't see anyone there.
"Weird..." he sighed and walked to his bed, falling back on it. His mind was tired, worn out from the stress of the day... sometimes life was so weird.
Curling up on his comforter, he closed his eyes and forced himself to sleep, after all he had a train to meet at 6, and if he got to leave this stupid little town, hell, he didn't care where he went...

The next morning, Darren stood on an empty platform in the middle of what looked to be a mountain range...
He had been woken up at 5 to find that all of his clothes and some of his belongings had already been packed and he needed to quickly take a shower. Once he was clean, he threw a few more things into his trunk, knives and music, and then was rushed off to the train station, where he was left here... seemingly in the middle of nowhere.
Then he heard what sounded like a car driving over twigs, pull up to the platform, and a petite woman stepped out.
"Darren Michaels?" she asked. This was the woman from last night. Her hair was bright red, and she appeared to be fairly young... looked nice enough.
"yeah..." he looked at her nonchalantly, speaking to her with his deep, smooth voice.
"Good. My name is Miss Fairsen. I am the the principal of your new school. Now if you'll just get into the car, I'll take you there." she smiled and got back into the car.
He shrugged and followed her, tossing his back into the back seat and sitting in the front passengers seat.
Miss Fairsen tried to talk to Darren, but he ignored her and all of her questions, zoning out until he reached his new school.
It was a short ride, and time barely passed before the school came into view... It was as large as two mansions put together, and white... all of it, white, not even a smudge of green from the surrounding foliage.
Miss Fairsen parked the car grabbing Darren's bag as he got out of the car. Darren was too busy staring at the building... it was massive... he thought he saw something flying around the top, but couldn't make it out.
"welcome to the Angel Academy." Miss Fairsen smiled and led him inside.
*Angel Academy... oh god, I've been sent to a reform school...* he sighed and walked inside.
Inside were vast halls and rooms, and students walked about... all in white... some had blue jeans and different colors... but the majority wore white or other bright colors... And Darren just stood out like a sore thumb with his black clothes and combat boots...
He could feel eyes on him as he looked around.
"YOU BROKE HIS ARM DARREN! What could drive you to do something like that?! I don't even care how you did it, but WHY?! What could have snapped in your head that would make you do that?!
