Chaser took the weapon and simply held it, lacking any place she felt comfortable putting it. "Nothing personal, I'm just not a very trusting person. It's served me well many times..." She continued walking, becoming more eager to get through the narrow tunnels.
"Mistress sounds a bit weird, too." Although, it was less discomforting. "Just... call me Chaser. And stop saying I gave you life, I only-"
Stumbled into that place and had blood forcefully removed. No, she couldn't say it... Perhaps if the thing looked more like a robot and hadn't kept calling her "mother," but now it just seemed mean. It was bad enough to be an accident, but that?
"Mommy, where's my real daddy?"
"I don't know."
Nyx shook her head. "C'mon. It won't bee too much longer."

"Neutron laser pistol, eh?" Chaser turned to Dorothy and held out her hand. "You won't be needing that here, so please give it to me for the time being." She figured it'd be hard enough to handle the android if something were to go wrong, last thing she needed was for the thing to be armed. It may well have other things hidden away... but she could at least take the one that'd been admitted, and lock it up.
After a moment, Nyx added, "And please stop refering to me as mother. It's a bit annoying." Actually, it was perhaps the thing that disturbed her most about the machine...

"Well, do that, then, once we get there." She did not bother to stop, but kept going at a rather brisk pace. "For work, I am self-employed. I sell a particular product that I make myself to whoever offers me the most money." Well, the was the legit explaination. She was hesitant to say more, and after thinking it over, decided not to elaborate unless the machine - Dorothy - specifically asked. It wasn't exactly something that she was in the habit of telling; after all, presently, she had on no disguise.
"Actually, I'd rather you spoke more, of yourself or whatever." Anything that might clue her in as to where the android came from or what its purpose was. "Perhaps there are bits of your memory you can access?"

"Before I tell you that, I need to know how well you can keep a secret," Chaser said, quite casually. She could see no reason to totally block the machine out; however, whether she decided to keep the thing or sell it, she had to know how safe she'd be. "In the chance that something should happen, and someone should somehow get hold of... whatever you use for memory. Are you capable of completely wiping out everything you know about me?"

"I like my privacy, and I keep it by being the only one who knows the way to my home," she said, starting walking again, this time the right way. Telling the machine - Dorothy - to not remember was probably useless anyway, if she could pick up energy signatures like that. Granted, the tunnel maze would still take a bit of time to get through, especially not knowing which turns to take, but that energy would still work like a compass.
Anyway, the sooner she got back, the sooner she could run that check on her blood - just in case. And going the right way cut travel time down drastically.

"Don't bother then, and Dorothy it is." She sighed. "For the time being, I'd rather you tried not to keep track of where we go, or where anything is. Can you do that?"

"Well, is there any name you'd like to have? I doubt any I could come up with would be terribly good." Bucket-of-bolts. Puppet. Robot. Little Doll. Yeah, none of those would really work to well.
Her thoughts were interupted by its statement about the didtance of any energy. She stopped and turned, staring at the doll through her goggles. "Through all this rock - a variety of rock, mind you, some of which has a tendancy to screw with electronics - you can pick up an energy signal at that distance? No, I don't want to be carried, but... Just what all are you capable of? If you can tell me without hurting yourself again."

Chaser watched as the thing's perfection returned, although her view of it under the circumstances were very limited. The problem was, what to do now? Well, standing there, nothing was getting done. She didn't want to take it back to her home/lab though, not until she could figure out a little more about it. Best to walk. Chaser knew those tunnels well enough, but she could hope that leading the machanical doll down enough redundant paths might confuse it. It... the thing needed a name.
"Come on," she said, intentionally starting with the wrong - or at least, long - way. "You need a name, something I can address you as. Do you have one?"

"Water? That still doesn't really make sense..." Still, Chaser detached her water bottle from her belt and tossed it over. Didn't seem like there'd be any harm in it; if the thing did indeed just need water, maybe it'd also let her actually get some information out of it without the thing freaking out.
"Why do you keep calling me "mother" anyway? I didn't -" She stopped. The thing apparently believed that Chaser had made it herself; unless it was particularly clever, she very much doubted it was there for any sort of infiltration purposes. It could be useful to let it think she was it's master... but it would too soon be painfully obvious that she wasn't. Chaser knew little more about machines and electronics than any other person, only enough to get her by with minimal contact with others. She was no engineer or mechanic - she was a botanist. "I'm not sure who made you, but it wasn't me, and I'm the only living sentient being around for miles."

Chaser was to say that she had no intention of digging back through all the fallen stone to get whatever it was, but paused when she realized that only one thing had been given to the over-sized doll between her arrival and the thing's awakening. "Wait, you need blood to fix yourself? Please tell me I'm an idiot for even thinking that, because it just doesn't make sense. You're... well, it's rather apparent that you're a machine."

Checking herself over, Chaser was mildly surprised to find she hadn't received even a scrape - ooh, there was a bruise near her ankle though. But that was it. She looked back at the pile of rubble, well able to hear rocks still falling, though it sounded like the cave in was just about done. Even with her goggles, if was difficult to tell if there were any openings where that hole had been, but she couldn't find anything that anyone could possible fit through, and she was sure the collapse beyond would keep out anything anyway.
A grin forced its way across her face, and the woman began laughing; the sound was not in the least disturbing or cynical, as her laughter tended to be, but good humored. "Well then, that takes care of that! Well done, you crazy piece a'... whatever you are. Yeah, yeah, I'm fine..." She looked over toward the human-like thing and frowned a little behind her mask. "You, however, look like you could use a little work. I don't suppose your capable of, uh, fixing yourself?"

Chaser didn't much like being grabbed, but she wasn't about to complain about having her life saved. With the lights of that room rapidly being blocked and going out, she went ahead and slid her goggled back down over her eyes and pointed right, shouting the direction at the same time. Walking, it had taken the woman several minutes to get there from the smallish hole between the walls of this tunnel and one of her own. Running, they would get back faster. If they could just get through that, she believed they would be fine - provided the way wasn't blocked.

She didn't need to be told twice. Chaser turned back for the door and ran out, glancing back only a moment to see if the living doll was indeed following her. Other bits of debrie started falling too, and the woman knew better than to stop just at the door. She had to get back to a part of the tunnels that she knew was stable, or at least as close as she could get before the cave-in stopped - or she was crushed.

"Hey, what- why...? What's wrong with you?" Nyx didn't know what to do. Was the thing damaged? Not very useful if it couldn't even tell what it was.
A noise pulled Chaser's attention away. It was a low, heavy grinding sound... She was sure the place didn't have a whole lot longer to hold up. "You know, I really don't think we should stay here..."

Nyx stared at the female figure before her, dumbfounded. Most of the thing's responce was much like any responce one might get from any robot, but... "mother"? "Prison like existance"? She pushed that aside in her mind, just wantng to get to the bottom of this. It was just a mechanical puppet, after all.
"You can't expect me to believe you don't know who or where you are. You were just hooked into this bloody place, and it..." She trailed off, having no idea how to finish the sentence. "Alright, let's try this... What are you?"
