He followed her quietly to the room. He didn't react when some of the soap water splashed on his neck and shoulder. He knew they were just having some fun and he was in no mood to spoil it for them over nothing of consequence. He just smiled, looking back at the girl who had thrown it and was now giggling and proceeded to the room. He listened quietly to her history understanding a lot of what he wanted to know. He could see her eyes slightly damp and he didn't believe that was a reaction to any soap water. He smiled again and shook his head to answer her.
He thought it was only fair to tell her about him. He kept looking at her and put crossed his arms in front of him while leaning on the wall behind him before speaking, "Its ironic, me running into you. We are different in a few ways but now more than ever, we have so much in common." He paused and then continued to clear the confusion he had no doubt caused in her mind. "My father was a fallen angel, or so the reaper told me, my mother a human. Another love that was forbidden. He never told me but I can guess it was because of this love he became a fallen one. When this war started, he... we... were hunted down in the city, the demons drawn to him like hungry rats to food." He paused as the memories of what happened returned, something the reaper had dug up to make him remember who he was and why he was chosen as the vessel.
"My parents were... tortured while I was made to watch, my father was then killed but my mother... Anyway, I was flogged, beaten up, and thrown into the dark alleys of the city. They thought it would be a better punishment than just killing me. It seems even though he was a fallen one, he had allies, you know, up there. To cut the long story short, the reaper came down, took me at the age of 11 and stayed with me till a few days ago. I have been hunting the demons since I was 12, took me almost an year to recover, even with the help of the reaper. They just don't seem to stop coming. So here we are... both demons... and both human, just surviving."

Galius had already walked out of the room where Maukri was speaking, and saw the two demons talking. He overheard both sides of the discussion. His facial expression didn't change, he found himself curious about both of them, but didn't feel any caring. He knew that he liked both of them, even if for nothing more than partners in battle, but he wasn't able to find anything within himself that told him he would care if either of them were slain. Never before did the thought bother him. Never before did the lack of humanity that was so apparent trouble him. Perhaps what remained of his humanity was fighting back...
Once finally the discussion between the two had ended, he rolled his eyes. They were so sappy, yet to proud to admit either had feelings for the other. It was another human trait that annoyed him. He had never felt love toward anyone, nor did he care to. Love was a liability. Those who put others in their mind before themselves ended up dead. The only two people in the world he'd ever gave a d**n about both shared that fate. He straightened his hat and laughed as he walked by, mocking the two.
It was pathetic, two big powerful demons acting like that. It made him laugh, and as he walked into the kitchen he was hit by a slather of bubbles in the face. Suddenly, every girl in there got silent, their eyes in shock at who was just hit by the bubbles. He took off his hat, slapped it against his leg, and wiped his face off. When he put his hat back on, he smirked and grabbed a glass of water that had yet to be poured out. It had the slight taste of soap in it, but he didn't care. He had forced himself to carry on despite nothing to drink for days upon days. He was completely dehydrated. When he turned from the room, a collective sigh rumbled through the women, who slowly started goofing off again. He flopped himself into a softer chair than the rest, and lowered his head, knowing he could finally get a little rest.
It would be a long time before he got the chance again, so he decided sleep was appropriate...

*so... few more posts and then we move on? can't stay safe for the whole rest of the RP XP well, we could, but that wouldn't be much fun...*
A door opened, revealing a fairly stark closet except for a suit of armor hung in the center. Maukri stared at it for a long time, just taking time to remember how things were before all of... this... happened. She hadn't touched the suit since retiring to a nursing career, which was fine and all. Still, she actually had come to miss the call of battle, that rush of adrenaline just before a battle started, the smell of death that always seemed to just hang in the air, the flush spirits-raising feeling of victorious and absolutely defeat of the enemy...
But no. She had a family to take care of, a family of young women who were living in a nightmare world and had miraculously hung on for this long. They were all she had left, and however little she wished to admit it, if she lost them...
Peeking out her door, she caught glimpse of Carella, this family's black sheep. Personally, Maukri knew that tossing her out had been a bad decision only afterwards; she was a troublemaker, yes, but her solemn vow to never harm one of these girls had been carried through to the end. Now that she was back, this was a sign to Maukri, personally... perhaps it was time that she stop acting like she was in charge and begin trusting those she'd protected for so long under her wing...
*cheezy moment coming up here XP feel free to skip...*
Carella smiled, closing her eyes momentarily, her heart stirring faster and faster. "Human... hmm... that's relative, I'm afraid. There isn't much left on this end, but... maybe its enough to still have some heart left in me..." She leaned closer, her face stopping just inches from his. "Maybe... would you be ok with that? We might never get another chance..." She looked him in... well, where his eyes would have been. Even after all the stupidity he'd displayed, there was just something she couldn't shake about him; he was the only other one like her that she had met. Unconsciously, her foot closed the door for her, shutting it tight where it was. "I mean, I'm not exactly ready for a family yet, but maybe just a taste would..."

Karsten tried to ignore Galius just like Carella had. It was a bit hard not to react to him, the way he laughed but there was no point fighting among each other, especially here and now. He watched him leave the room, possibly to go rest. Good, he could stop worrying about him killing all the women in here for once.
He turned back towards Carella as she spoke. He knew exactly what she had on her mind. He moved closer to her, a combination of the will of Karsten and the demon driving his body now. He would not harm her, or not let his demon harm her, he would make sure. He smirked slightly and spoke, "Well... you are right, its relative isn't it? I am not ready either but... what the hell..."
He moved forward quickly and kissed her, wrapping his arms around her at the same time, pulling her closer to him. There was no needs for any more words, they just made everything they would do or were doing now, seem wrong, and unthinkable.

*since M seems to be off in lala land right now, guess I'll post here ^-^*
Morning came all too soon for the two, the sunrise scene pouring in upon the bedroom where they still slept. It had been one wild night, and Carella was too beat to even move a muscle. Even while being incapacitated in blissful exhaustion, though, she hadn't felt so good... ever. So this was what lust felt like, she thought in her sleep, still clinging to Karsten as she dreamed of sweet things that had seemingly been lost long before.
Stirring slightly, she cracked her eyes open to find that she was nearing the end of her humanity, the last traces of the girl Carella being erased even as she laid there. It didn't frighten her, however; in fact, she found comfort for the first time in years in the fact that she had no choice in it. She would shed her human soul soon, forced against whatever will she had to devour that which she would no longer need to complete the inevitable. However, their time together had taught both much, and the two sides of the woman, the human of which showed last night upon a rare occasion, were in a sense already one...
Abruptly, she heard a creak coming from the doorway, and before she could react the mattress was overturned upon her and her partner, causing Carella to blindly scratch at the bed like a feral feline in fright. A hearty voice which she recognized instantly laughed as if this was all a joke, then stated "Well, look what I find in here! A rat playing with my baby girl... What a revelation." Maukri stood before the two, a broad smile plastered upon her face, one that could either be interpreted as a friendly smirk or a psychotic maniac about to draw blood.
"And YOU!" she almost screamed, pointing to Carella, "were supposed to be up two HOURS ago. If you're staying, you're working. I don't care about your 'friend', but you, young lady, are going to be working twice what I gave you last time, or so help me! I brought you up in this world, and I can just as well take you down!" Carella cowered, hiding herself behind the mattress once she got herself up to see the head nurse's face. Turning around, she commented as she walked out "However, given the current circumstances, I'm in a good mood. So I guess you'll be getting off the hook... again..."

Galius was standing behind Maukri as the day cracked, he had been up, had cleaned himself up, and had cleaned off his gear. Upon hearing Maukri break in on the two lovebirds, Galius laughed again, the same sadistic mocking that he had done before. He gently pushed Maukri aside, practically telling her that they were going to leave, no matter what. He walked into the room, no doubt making the naked pair uncomfortable. He stood among them, unphased, not moving an inch, his face showing impatience. He was ready to get a move on. There were pale ones that needed cut down outside, and a good night's sleep had given him complete rejuvenation.
He awaited them to get dressed, smirking as he forced them into an uncomfortable situation by standing there as they dressed. Once they were ready, and had readied their gear, it was time to move out...

((That was a very untimely post M, lol. Now I have to make changes... ok made))
Karsten slept, or his body did anyway. If he hadn't known of Carella's orgins he would have guesses easily after last night. Her hunger seemed never to end so much so that it took every bit of energy he possessed from before to satisfy her. He had never thought much of the talk he overheard sometime of humans talking about people dying of exhaustion during this, but now he knew what they were talking about.
His arms rested loosely around her, both of them hardly moving more than an inch all the while they slept. He had seen her yesterday, both visions, the conventional sight showing him her beauty and the other overwhelmed by the surge of energy through her body. He saw her again as he sensed sunlight pouring into the room, they had taken over. She had changed over the course of the night. Her energy seem to flow more smoothly through her body not like it had been before. She was at peace he guessed.
He was caught off-guard when the mattress was turned on both of them. When the woman's voice reached his ears, all the demon in him wanted to do was rip her to shreds, again. She had interfered with a moment he was cherishing... and now was calling him a rat! Karsten had a lot of problem controlling both him and the demon to not harm her. He knew what she meant to Carella so he calmed down.
Once she went out of the room, he looked at Carella hiding behind the mattress and spoke, "Well, I was expecting a more... pleasant wake up. You think she is pissed because of all the... commotion last night?", he asked with a bemused expression on his face.
He didn't turned as he heard another laugh. He turned, his expression more of frustration and annoyance than anger as he spoke, "Would you like me to throw you out or would you be kind enough to give us some privacy here while we dress? Don't cross the line Galius, not with me..." He got up slowly and dressed partly, standing bare chested in front of Galius, his many scars still showing as he waited.

Not even a word, barely a glance, Maukri left with a smirk, closing the door behind her. The kid was alright; he'd been able to control that much, and if he hadn't, no matter how she felt about him, the girl was programmed practically to fear and protect that which she cared more about than her own life. Maukri had given her the mother she never had, and in the short few years they had been together, many sacrifices had been made, but never at the expense of what they had... Besides, she wasn't one to push people into too uncomfortable a spot, and it was hard to put her in one with something that simple; she'd undressed and redressed herself many times, perhaps hundreds if not thousands, before young men around her in the army, and Maukri had a habit of putting the overly-eager ones in their place very quickly...
She saw that they were getting ready to leave, and knew in her heart that the time was right for this; she walked back to her office, sitting down and draining the remainder of the whiskey in her stash, leaving the bottle on the table. She then set upon the closet once more, opening it up and admiring the suit of battle-grade armor once more. This would be the last time she might ever see it in such good condition, because soon she might be off to war once more, albeit against a different enemy and under a new flag...
Carella eyed Galius as he stood there, not quite afraid of him but most certainly annoyed to a variety of degrees. She stood up and turned around, clothing herself at the fastest pace she could afford. This time, she ignored the silly Karsten's comment; it was an empty threat at best, hollow at worst, because even he knew what this man was capable of, and that he'd probably just as soon let the two follow behind him as kill Karsten and rape Carella without even a second though. That was unsettling, but if it ever came to it, she would tear Galius apart slowly, limb for limb, as well if she were ever to been given the motive...

Karsten turned around when he heard shuffling of feet to see Carella get dressed. He looked back at Galius and shook his head. She just made his threat useless. He was even more frustrated and he chose to take it out on this cocky man.
"You think you can walk in all the way to your dear brother, kill him alone? I know you have not though far enough but just used a bit of that tiny thing you have for a brain and think back and answer one question to yourself, would you have reached this far if you had been all alone? Not even an angelic reaper could survive like that in the city, you think you are better?"
He paused as he finished dressing and turned back to face Galius, "I would have a go at you, but I am not a spoilt child like you seem to be who thinks he could take everything just because he can without being affected by the consequences. There is no wonder why you are alone Galius. What kind of living creature could stay around you without having thought of killing you or themselves."
He knew he had gone a bit overboard but it was better this way then him sucking Galius dry of his essence out of frustration.

Galius stepped forward, the demon before him now acting as cocky as before. Galius relished the thought of a battle, but not exactly with this man. Nonetheless, he didn't take threats lightly, and insults even less. He stepped forward and looked Karsten dead in what would have been his eyes. He knew he had some sense of sight. Galius didn't waver, he didn't fear.
"Never forget I saved your life more than once. Keep your mouth shut you ungrateful disgrace." Galius wouldn't settle this one with his blade, he didn't want to kill the demon, which was awkward enough, but he chose his words wisely, and knew they would hurt. His eyes and body language let the next message fly. He simply turned and walked away, saying how little he cared for Karsten's help. He had been a burden for this whole battle. Galius walked to the courtyard that he had entered from, and didn't even look back. He walked up the the exit and waited for the heavy stone to be moved by the demons... So began the fight again....

*the boulder weighs like two tons, M O.o that's why its there in the first place... if a human could move it then the place would probably be f**ked by now*
"And just where do you think you're strutting off to?" came the voice of the head nurse from behind. Fully dressed in an archer's battle armor, she carried a three-and-a-half foot-long oaken longbow in her hand, parts of it having folded steel attached to it, like three curled shining petals of some deadly plant on either end. A quiver she'd been filling in her spare time since the day she'd 'settled down' was attached to her back, covered with a leather piece to keep them in. Her leather-bound armor shone in the first lights of day, even though pieces of it had been removed to lighten the load. Most of the pieces had been visibly altered recently, with the exception of the headband, which retained its usefulness without needing a makeover.
"I thought about it last night," she started, strutting towards Galius as if she barely saw him, "and I've also discussed it with the girls, since none of them could sleep anyways. We decided ta let ya go... on certain conditions, of course. Your punishment will be putting up with me for however long this d**ned suicide mission takes. How much fun does that sound to ya, asshat?"

He smiled as Galius turned around and walked away, his mind, or at least the demon's mind, completely unfazed by what he had said. He turned to Carella and smiled, "He talks... Come on, lets get going, before he dies and loses that map. I have a clue where we are going. You might want to take leave of your friends. Should I... wait outside?" He didn't want to be around if she didn't want him around when she said her goodbyes.
He felt it was best if they drew the horde of the pale men away from this building. This was what was left of humanity and they both were nothing more than guests here. Somewhere along the way, he had lost his reason, his beliefs and his humanity when he accepted the demon as a part of him. He was surprised himself how so many years of teaching by the reaper could be forgotten within days. But he didn't want an answer to that question, neither did he know.

Galius closed his eyes as the woman behind him proclaimed her intent on following the group. He sighed and shrugged. He turned around and leaned on the rockface, awaiting the demons to move the stone. If he was going to have to travel with this one... things were going to get complicated... and perhaps exceedingly annoying...

Carella shook her head. "Its ok" she said, her voice normal for the first time in... well, since she could remember recently. "If you think they're scared of you, its probably because you've been licking your lips at them every time a glance falls to you. Besides, I think it'd be better if we just left now... we did kinda keep them awake last night, and most of them will probably be sleeping it off for another few hours."
Just at the thought of it, she stifled a giggle. They had been way too loud last night, and the girls not on watch would most likely be pretty pissed to be awoken by the perpetrators. "I'll just say bye to the girls on duty; won't take but a few minutes." She slipped the last of her outfit on, dirty as it was, and left a quick kiss for a temporary goodbye to Karsten as she left to say a possibly permanent goodbye to those still up at this early hour of morning...

Karsten nodded and returned the kiss when she did. He smiled as she left, turning around to as his eyes followed her walking out the room. "I will be waiting outside...", he said after her and started making his own way outside. He could understand she would feel sad about leaving them again after just being reunited for such a short time with her old friends. He reached outside and raised a brow when she saw the leader standing outside in a rather fancy uniform and Galius, no doubt waiting for the stone to be moved.
He approached the two and nodded at Galius, his frustration gone now that he had vented it out, "Carella will be right here..." He could have moved the stone alone but if he knew Galius, he would bolt straight out and not wait for Carella. He would obviously stay back and wait for her. So they would get split up at the start itself. He turned to the woman and spoke, "So whats the idea? You going to come with us? And who is going to be taking care of... this place? You are leaving them leaderless?" It was obvious Karsten didn't want her coming along with them. In a war you didn't want the guards who protected the castle walls charging to the front. What was to become of the castle then?
