"You are right, I am sorry to judge your commitment so soon. I should have known you had your reasons. I just... don't want you to get lost...", *like me*, he thought to himself but didn't say it.

"it's hard to get lost when you don't call a place home anymore."

"We are so much like you and I", he said smiling. He got up, looking towards the forest.
"Shall we move on then?", he asked. "I will stay with you a while longer. If thats fine with you..."

She nodded, sighing as she stood up, "guess it is time to move on... Let's follow the water then."
Tala started walking towards the forest, keeping the water in view.

"How about a hunt then?" It had been sometime since he had been strong enough to hunt. It was thrill he seeked more than the reward.

"doesn't sound too bad." she nodded, changing to her wolf form.
She tested out her paw a bit. It hurt some, but it was good enough to use.

He smiled and changed into his wolf form. He smelled the air for his prey. He could smell something directly ahead of him. He nodded in the direction giving her the chance to lead.

Tala took a deep breath of air, taking in the scents, and then headed off in the direction of their intended prey, moving quickly, but silently.

He followed staying beside her as quietly and quickly, alert. He suddenly sensed another strong smell. This was not a prey, this was a predator. As he slowed down falling behind a seemingly oblivious Tala, he began to smell more approaching. He dashed sideway, picking up speed cutting diagonally between Tala and these new predators. He looked around to see if Tala had noticed him gone.

Tala had begun to notice the change in smell, but then it was overwhelmed by Cezar.
She continued moving forward, wanting to see why he ran ahead and messed up her smell, but then she got a good whiff of what it was, and looked around for the pack.

His little ploy had worked. The pack of wolves had sensed them too and were trying to flank them as if they were the prey. But his sudden move towards them had caught them before they could surround them. He was now face to face with one of the largest natural wolves he had seen. He gave a loud growl, as if telling them that he was not going to be their prey. He hoped Tala would have heard it as well.

Tala moved next to Cezar as the large wolf growled back, others in his pack seeming to get ready to take offensive.
She wasn't sure what to do. She knew about the hierarchy of wolves and such, but even then... they were still outsiders, and if the wolves knew they weren't real... it could still end badly.
When she was right next to Cezar, she knew she had to decide either to fight or submit, if they still had that chance.
Tala just started growling, while she didn't get openly offensive, she did try to seem like atleast somewhat of a threat.

He had been here once before, but last time he was alone. It had been tough to fight the pack off last time. But they were much smaller in size and starved. This time the pack looked stronger and there were more of them. But he had Tala with her.
They could tell right away that he was not a pure wolf. He was expecting the same thing his time. He snapped his jaw at the largest of them, as he seemed to be the alpha wolf, the leader. He had studied the behaviour enough many years back hoping to learn something. And they had taught him a lot about this form.
He just hoped the leader would take up the challenge now, otherwise they would be in trouble.

He didn't dare a glance towards Tala. He knew if he took his eyes of the alpha, it would be taken as a sign of submission. He started moving sideways and the large wolf followed. He knew Tala would be safe for now. The rest would usually not attack till this challenge had been dealt with.
They began to circle each other. As he circled around, he could now see Tala. She looked confused but she stood her ground, which was good for both of them. Cezar had one advantage in this fight. He wasn;t just fighting on pure instincts like his opponent. He waited for his move, he knew what he had to do, all he had to do was wait for the right instance.
