"Good God d**n, what did you get us into?" Xavier said, exhaling a puff of smoke. He wasn't so much speaking to Kyra, just thinking aloud. He began scrolling through his options:
1. leave with the girl, find a safe haven, wait for evac. 2. leave the girl, get back to Seattle. 3. Take the girl back to Seattle. 4. Kill the girl, call the mission a wash, and leave for Seattle. 5. Stay here with the girl, try and salvage this mission, and hope not to die.
He looked back over at Kyra as she cleaned her glasses, noticing her brilliant eyes for the first time. "Now, why don't you get contacts, with eyes like that?" he asked her.

Make up my mind, Esariel thought, but he ran away from the church as the other angels had, just the same. "Guess we're not going in, after all," he told Adrian.
Something had spooked Rapheal. He looked around, but all he could see was the other angels, the not-quite-full-blooded demon, and the unlikely pair on the motorcycle. What was out of place?

The woman blinked, raising a brow. Despite her wishes, the visible side of her face became painted with a pale pink wash. Compliments were a rarity, most people were intimidated by her severe personality. "I have them..." Kyra spoke the phrase as if it were a question, a raised influx at the end. "I tend to get a bit more respect with the spectacles though." That being said, she set the things back on her nose and took her jacket away from her face, checking to see if the bleeding had slowed.
With a sigh she set the coat in her lap, looking off to the fight taking place in the distance. "I really don't like not knowing the best course of action." The woman quietly mused, glad to change that potentially awkward subject. "Is it really safe to just sit here?"

Xavier took off his own sunglasses as the remaining lights of Atlanta turned on with an electic buzz. "Well," he said slowly, "is it safe to go anywhere? I'm clearly not from around here, miss." he kicked the motorcycle's kickstand out and stood out on the edge of the parking lot, which sat on a hill overlooking downtown Atlanta. a few vampires had noticed their presence, but until now had discarded it. It seemed, however, that that paradigm was shifting...
"I hope you're good with that six-shooter," Xavier said, unholstering his Glock and looking around for a safer place for cover. He saw none, and instead opted to stand with the girl between him and the hollow high rise project, gun at the ready.

Kyra slid off the bike, looking concerned by the change in atmosphere. "A six-shooter?" Her jacket fell to a pile at her feet. "There something going on? I don't hear anything..." She pulled her gun out and pulled down the hammer. It wasn't the most cautious of choices, but would lower reaction time if there was some sort of ambush.
Aside from the sounds of her own breathing and the gravel shifting beneath her feet, the woman really couldn't sense anything cutting through the quiet that settled over the lot. She took a deep breath and released it, trying to remain calm. Truth was, however, she was losing her line of sight, only able to make out vague shapes illuminated by the moon and having vision removed was unsettling for any mere human being.

Xavier instinctively reached back with his right hand, and placed it on Kyra's shoulder. This was not so much to comfort her as to have the ability to manipulate her movement if need be. The first vampire careened up over the hill, looking directly at them. It tilted its head to the side and smiled wickedly, revealing its fangs. It lunged towards them from across the parking lot at an amazing rate. Xavier remained calm, waited until it opened its jaw and fired, squeezing his left index finger slightly enough to release a cartridge into the vampire's brain, destroying it. Ashes scattered across the parking lot, and from over the hill, shrieks of other vampiric hosts could be heard...

"Jesus Christ..." Kyra hissed between her teeth, bitting the cuff of her shirt and ripping it away from the button closing it against her forearm. Using her wrists, she pushed Cavalier's hand away, turning towards the most open area she could access from her sandwiched position. "Sounds like eight, to me." She had done enough work with military personal to understand this situation, to assess it, but never before had she found herself in as many perilous scenarios as she had that day. If she were more sensitive she would have burst into tears. Instead the woman made due with a racing heart and short breath.
After a moment of stillness, Kyra moved. She fell quickly downwards, sitting on her heels and fired a shot to her left. An unearthly wail rattled from behind the unfinished building, masking the echo of the gun. The recoil and shock of such quick events knocked her back onto her rear, clumsily bumping into her companion's leg. "Well... maybe seven now."

((is Raphael the name you're trying to go for? one of the more well known angels from christian mythology?))
Adrian looked up as Raphael got spooked. He grinned a bit when he saw the werewolf on top of the building. Right after Louie jumped down, Adrian charged the door and activated the vibration of his sword. He shot a jet of coldfire at the door just in time to stop the explosion from launching debris at the group of angels. Then, bursting through the frozen door and shattering it, he plowed into the church, hacking away at the remaining vampires. A few of the angels had also jumped the gun with him and hadn't waited for Raphael to order the charge.
Adrian's sword moved with a gracefulness almost unseen even among the most powerful of angels. It seemed as if the blade was one with his body, moving into seemingly impossible positions to strike from the best angle. Charred vampires fell into piles of ash as his obsidian blade cleanly removed body parts. "I hope you didn't want too many for yourself Esariel!" he yelled out in a slightly taunting manner.

Esariel's spinning blade removed the heads of two vampires, and he called back, "I seem to be doing just fine, Adrian!" He saw other, more sinister demons moving at the rear of the enemy formation, and knew that the vampires were there simply to wear the angels down and make them easier prey. "If you have sensitive eyes, you may wish to cover them!" he shouted, and with that warning came a burst of blinding white light that sent the vampires scattering in all directions -- most of them left the church entirely, and the handful that remained were quickly mopped up by Adrian, Esariel and the other angels. He saw the beams of light touch some of the demons; all of them looked unnerved at the contact, but unfortunately only one disintegrated as a result of it.
"Now, to defeat the true enemy," he said, walking toward the demons with his blade held high.

A bright light was visible even from where Kyra and Xavier were at. Xavier's first thought was that it might be some nuclear device. But there was no sound, so he figured it was some celestial feat. In any event, it wasn't close enough to scatter the vampiric threat present to Kyra and himself. He began blasting vampires as they presented themselves, ushering Kyra towards the highrise. "If you have any ideas, now would be the time to share them," he said in a calm voice.

"I'm thinking." The woman growled. The light illuminated the vicinity for a moment. Kyra took the brief opportunity to scan the surroundings. There had to be something of use at a construction site. Indeed salvation showed itself! Possibly...
The engineer pulled her cell phone from her pocket, gripping the handle of her pistol between her teeth, replacing it into her jacket when her hands were free. "You have a phone?" She asked, quietly, though perhaps a bit disdainfully, allowing Cavalier to herd her towards the building. Not really waiting for an answer, her thin, deft fingers started to manipulate the little device, a sharp click echoing off the steel beams as the battery cover clattered to the cement.
