"I never said we shouldn't name him," Wang Chung said. "I just wondered what the significance of Twinky was... it sounded unusual." (OOC: When I referred to The Dark Tower in the description of this storyline, I never realized we'd have an Oy.

"Twinky?" Chung asked, looking at Symphonia, then checking the direction she was looking in to make sure they weren't being followed. "Why Twinky?"

Wang Chung followed Phobia as she turned down a seemingly random alley. He kept an eye out for opportunistic homeless people... one of the Crimson King's followers often took the guise of a homeless person, and Chung didn't want to encounter him.
When Phobia decided on the spot to adopt a puppy, he didn't say anything... there didn't seem to be anything sinister about the creature, and he knew that when stories like the one he was currently acting out were told in books and movies, the heroes often had animal companions, so the dog might actually be a good omen.

Wang Chung helped Symphonia up -- she might still be a little dizzy while recovering from the fainting spell, and he didn't want her to fall again -- then followed Fan to the back door, looking back to make sure Phobia was following.

"I think she just fainted..." Wang Chung said before looking around. The bar was empty -- apparently, nobody wanted to stick around and explain what happened to the cops. He went behind the bar and searched for a few seconds, then found what he was looking for and came back, holding something under Symphonia's nose. "Smelling salts," he explained to the other two.

Wang Chung looked worriedly toward the door. He knew that sometimes, in cities like this, cops could be more trouble than anything else. He gave a warning glance to someone who was looking at Symphonia, then looked at the other two, still waiting for a response from Fan.
"Is this man who can get us sweet rides trustworthy?" he finally asked of Phobia.

Wang Chung whipped an arm around Symphonia's abdomen, not grabbing her hard enough to hurt her but still keeping a firm enough grip to prevent her falling on the floor. He caught the napkin dispenser in midair with his other hand, and placed it back on the table. Then he eased Symphonia gingerly into a nearby chair, and got up. "Can you two keep an eye on her for me?" he asked.
Without waiting for either of the women to answer -- he would have to place a tremendous amount of trust in them eventually, anyway -- he went over to the bodies and examined them carefully. "They're all dead," he reported when he got back. Then he turned to Fan. "I think we need to know who we're dealing with here," he said. "That got pretty nasty -- if those people are after you, I want to know what I'm protecting you from."

"You know them?" Wang Chung asked Fan curiously, but in a low voice so as not to draw attention to himself. He checked that his katana was clear in its scabbard, but made no move to draw it just yet -- unless he absolutely needed to use it to deflect oncoming bullets or something, he preferred to stay out of this particular fight until he knew what it was about.

"You are wise not to trust people too quickly, Symphonia," Wang Chung said. "But I can assure you, I mean you no harm. In fact, I came here with the purpose of making new friends."
He looked out at the bikers worriedly -- he knew trouble when he saw it, and these people looked like a lot of trouble. But as long as they were normal mortals, he could handle them easily if they chose to attack him or his new friends. He noted that the scummy-looking lot at the card table on the other side of the room had also turned their attention to the door.

Wang Chung grabbed a napkin from an old-fashioned dispenser on the table, and handed it to Phobia. "There you go," he said as he got up and went to the counter. When he got back, he had a plate that matched Fan's. Before he started chewing -- he had to wait for the steaming food to cool a bit anyway -- he said, "To answer your first question -- yes, that's eel. It's an acquired taste, but I like it. To answer your second question -- I just got into town myself, and have no idea what to do. It seems that there a wide variety of entertainments to be had, though."
A woman passing by in a ridiculously short skirt said agreeably, "You can get anything you want at Alice's Restaurant." She didn't pause to wait for a reply.

Wang Chung was surprised by the sudden extreme amount of energy displayed by the three women. He wondered if something had happened that he wasn't aware of -- a magical spell being cast or something -- or if this was just normally how they acted. He grabbed the menu off the table and flipped through it -- the dish that Fan had looked good, and was starting to spark his own appetite.
He asked Symphonia politely if she could move -- he would have to wait for a server to come by again if she remained on his lap, and he wasn't sure when that would happen as the waitresses were often delayed for long periods of time by extricating themselves from the grip of a male customer.

"Hello, Fan," Wang said, standing up and bowing himself -- an old habit from days long past in Japan, but a hard one to break. "I am Wang Chung, and this is Symphonia." He hoped the blond girl didn't mind him introducing her.
Just then, someone bumped into him from behind. He turned to see who it was, and was presented with one of the most exotic-looking creatures he had ever seen (and he had seen a lot). The creature introduced herself, and Wang Chung bowed again and said, "I am Wang Chung. It is nice to meet you. Unfortunately, I just got here and haven't had time to look at the menu yet -- but one of the people I've been talking to may know what is safe to eat here." He indicated Symphonia and Fan.

"It's very nice to meet you, Symphonia," Wang said. There was something unusual -- an aura of power -- about the girl. She definitely had something going for her that nobody else in the bar did, but he wasn't sure what. Before he could dwell on it too much, though, a commotion at the bar attracted his attention. Someone had tripped and crashed into a waitress, spilling a tray of drinks. He moved to help, but all of the drinks had already landed upright on the floor, without a drop spilled. He saw the eyes of the woman who had crashed into the waitress and realized they were a bright, intense purple. "Well, you don't see that every day," he remarked drily as the violet-eyed woman helped the waitress pick up her drinks and put them back on the tray.

"It reminds me of home," Wang Chung said. His accent wasn't as thick as most people would probably expect, but it was still easy to tell he wasn't from around here. He turned his head slightly to get a look at the girl who was speaking to him -- she was pretty, but she looked too young to be in a bar. However, as someone who looked much younger than he actually was himself, Wang was never one to make judgements where that sort of thing was concerned.
"I am Wang Chung. What is your name?" he asked her. He had expectations where this was concerned -- she definitely looked like a Summer or a Tiffany -- but he figured it'd be better to ask than to assume.

(OOC: Jess, I have no idea if you wanted to have your character meet up with Wang Chung later or already be a part of his traveling group. Just RP it however you want. I know the first post of this thread isn't great, but with only two characters posted I didn't have a lot to go by.)
Wang Chung looked around at the gaudy neon lights proclaiming the names of buildings such as The Astro Lounge and The House of the Rising Sun. Yes, this was definitely the place. He entered the building that looked the least like a brothel -- a run-down place called Alice's Restaurant -- and tried to look inconspicuous (which was difficult, as anyone who cared to look could clearly see the hilt of a katana blade protruding over his shoulder).
He surveyed the crowd, for the most part a scummy-looking lot (although there were a few, like him, who obviously didn't belong here), and took only the briefest notice of a woman pole-dancing on the other side of the room. The men at the table nearest to her were actually ignoring her as they participated in a probably very illegal card game.
He ordered some sake from the first waitress who walked past, and was surprised when she didn't even raise an eyebrow at the odd request. A few minutes later, she came back with his drink.
