((This is an RP that takes place in a Big city like New York. Doesnt actually have to be New York since I never been there myself so I dont have a clue what it looks like. Anyway, thats the setting and its an underground war....think underworld only with aliens, preds, and humans. And the whole "government coverup" thing is in effect which the aliens dont really care about lol. Once again, anyone can join at any time.))
Bright lights and loud music. This was the usual happenings of this noisy city. The streets bustled with the late night traffic as people scurried about busily to get home to their families.
"Taxi!"
A man raced to grab a cab but was cut off when a rather large woman reached it before him. He arrived just in time to watch the vehicle speed away and almost cried when he realised that this was the last one for an hour. With a disturbed look, he decided to walk the lonely mile home.
The street was quiet as he turned on a lonely road. No lights were seen coming from any of the windows on any of the floors of a particular building. Though this struck him as strange, he was in too much of a hurry to consider any further.
Rounding another corner, he saw a figure lying on the sidewalk just a few feet away. The person, a man, was wearing a very odd looking mask and didnt seem to be breathing.
"Oh my God!" he said as he ran and knelt by the stranger's side. "What happened?"
No response. No sound came from the man except a deep gurgling sound from his throat. He reached over and touched the mask which then seemed to tighten its hold on the victim's head and caused the weary traveller to jump.
"What the hell!?" he screamed scrambling to his feet. "What is that?"
Behind him a deep hissing sound was heard. He was too afraid to look but his curiosity got the better of him. His head turned and his eyes came to rest on a creature never seen before. Four long spikes shot from it's back upwards and a long head which extended backwards was the most notable feature. A clear liquid dripped from its flat teeth and a long whip-like tail flashed wildly in the air.
Gripped with fear he turned to run but couldnt move an inch. Pain shot up his spine, the result of being impaled by its spear-like end and lifted from the ground effortlessly.
"Ugh!" he squeezed out before going limp, yet another innocent caught in the crossfire of a war that raged silently below the radar.
The morning came and a crowd was seen gathered around a pool of blood. A broken manhole cover and several claw marks told the story of what had happened. And once again, the news reported that this was just another victim of a serial killer on the loose.
The police did their job well, the cleanup was successful and the truth was hidden from the populace. They couldnt let everyone know of their own involvment in starting a city wide conflict between two species, competing for domination.
