I am relatively new at this but...I have played a bit of Final Fantasy so if you'll permit me to start a FF7 based thread I would be much oblidged.
Telling whether it was day or night would be quite a feat...in the section 4 slums darkness was simply a part of life. Trash was the carpet for the ground surrounding various different stores and homes.

The sign would occaisionally flicker but still had most of it's lights which was quite unusual for a slums shop.
As you walk past the metal door frame you see counter at the far end, made of metal and rusted screws, behind which is a average height man with a hoodie on.
This man is known only as Vincent, or the weapon shop owner. People have said that Vincent was once a legend, a mighty killer quite unequaled for a long time. After the lady of dreams was taken from him by Shinra for experimental testing Vincent began his rage of doom. He hated Shinra and everything with it. The number of Shinra operatives that were killed while attempting to stop Vincent was unimaginable.
After 15 years of bloodshed, Vincent sent the President of Shinra a message which read:
Greetings President,
I am Vincent. My name and my desciption I am sure you know, for I have killed many of your men. I have a proposition for you...I have had enough bloodshed in my life and I would very much enjoy settling down. Leave me alone and I shall leave you alone.
-Vincent
The president pretended to consider the matter, although he knew that if he continued to fight this man that many many more of his men would die. The president agreed and hoped that Vincent would never more be a part of his problems.
Although this is only a tale, many believe it to be true and when they build the courage to ask Vincent he simply replies, "My past is no longer my problem."
If you look to the right you see nine circular tables surrounded by four chairs each. You look back to the owner and he says...
"Greetings Stranger, fancy a gun or a drink?"
