*Jadyn was quite surprised at how this boy distracted the T-Rexaur just to save her... She was on her feet in a flash, but she wasn't quick enough to help him as he was tossed back. Her violet eyes flashed briefly with concern but before she could even get to him, he was back on his feet and charging again. Rather impressed, she decided that she would check on him after this was all over. Instead, she focused on the monster again, casting Blizzard this time before going in for another attack.*

Clay saw her get up, and stepped back as she cast Blizzard. An idea struck him, "what if we confuse it? like attack at the same time, then it won't know who to retaliate at." he charged forward again, and attacked. Jumping back before it's tail hit him, "not to mention, we'll know when its tail is coming by when the other person jumps back."

*Jadyn gave a brief nod.* "That's the best plan I've heard yet. Let's do it." *She looked to him, timing her attacks with his. At being hit simultaneously, the monster became confused, trying to choose which of them to hit. Soon it started trying to attack both of them at once which failed miserably one of them would always notice when the tail swung at them and the teeth were easy enough to dodge. Finally, after much work, the T-Rexaur fell. Jadyn's arms ached slightly from the effort and she knew that she would have a few bruises from her fall. However, they had done it and that's all that mattered to her. She quickly sheathed her blades, taking a seat on a nearby log to rest for a moment. She hesitated a moment before looking to the boy.* "Not bad for your first day at Balamb. You're not hurt are you?"

He stretched slightly, " not bad at all. I've never faught a t-rexaus with less than 4 people, so this was a good day. And I'm fine, sure I'll ache a bit when I wake up later, but I'll be ok." Then it hit him, "y'know, you've helped me find my room, and we just killed a t-rexaur, and I still haven't introduced myself. I'm Clay." he nodded, giving a light bow. "Nice to meet ya."

*Jadyn's violet eyes showed her amusement as she nodded. Not used to being so friendly with people, her voice still sounded rather cold as she replied.* "Nice to meet you too. As I mentioned earlier, I'm Jadyn." *A bit uncomfortable, she quickly turned the conversation to something she was more familiar with... studying weapons.* "I've never seen a gunblade so close before. Would you mind if I took a look at it? Once we get out of here that is."

Clay was a bit uncomfortable about letting her see his gunblade," um..." he nodded, "yeah sure, just be careful with it when you do. So," he motioned with his hand, "lead the way Jadyn." he propped his gunblade on his shoulder.

*Jadyn nodded and got to her feet, silently leading Clay around the path and out of the training center. Once they were outside in the hallway, she glanced over at him.* "We could get in trouble if we have out weapons out around here... You don't mind going outside for a while do you?"

He shook his head, "nope, I don't mind at all, course I don't mind getting in a bit of trouble either. But it's your choice. Either way, you'll be leading me around." he thought that now would be a good time to smile, but was afraid it might hurt him since he hadn't in years.

*Jadyn raised an eyebrow at him, probably the most emotion she had shown all day.* "I'm not exactly the trouble-making type. But if you are then perhaps I'll have to keep a close eye on you." *Of course she wasn't serious or terribly disapproving but she knew that it would seem that way. It always did. She began walking again, going much slower than her usual strong and swift pace.*

Clay followed her, "hey, I don't find trouble, trouble finds me...or atleast those who cause trouble find me. heh...I wasn't very ....popular..at my old school. To say the least." He kept in step with her, his gunblade resting on his shoulder.

*Clay's words struck a soft spot in Jadyn although she tried not to show it. She was beginning to wonder just how much they had in common. She avoided looking at him as she nodded.* "Then you're not alone."

He was shocked to hear that, of course he shouldn't have been, taking into account he knew nothing about her. "hmm...it's really not that bad though. Atleast people leave ya alone, especially if they fear you because they don't understand you. That atleast works for me, I don't know about you. But just wait, someone from my old school called and 'warned' a student here about me. I've already heard some of the old rumors pass between some kids." he scowled at that, but shook it off. "I'd say the only good thing about 'em, was that I was left alone for the most part."

*Jadyn couldn't help but look at him, for once curious about another person. She knew for a fact that almost everyone in Balamb was intimidated by her strong but cold nature except for about three of the younger girls who admired her for her skills and ambition. But she hadn't really noticed anyone else like her... She wondered if Clay really felt that way or if he felt like her inside... She tried not to think about it.* "What are the rumors?"

"So ya haven't heard em yet. Well, let's see. There's one that said I was a mute, because I never talked, which I never did, unless it was school related. Um... I was also and escaped convict, or an escaped lunatic posing as a student. There was one where I was said to have been kicked out of another school, and also a similar one where I was kicked out of juvenile detention even, for fighting, which really made no sense to me. But hey, " he shrugged, " people are idiots. And my FAVORITE one, my favorite! Is the one where the kids said, that I never talked because of a horrible abusive past, and now in present day, if anybody were to talk to me, I'd snap and attack em. That one is pretty much the main reason why I was left alone, but also a reason why others wanted to try to fight me. Which they did atleast once a week."

*Jadyn frowned, her violet eyes showing hints of sorrow. She didn't want to get personal with anyone but she felt the need to say something. As they made their way outside to the long entrance to Balamb Garden, she hesitantly spoke, trying not to sound even the slightest bit emotional.* "Hm... You have it rough. Luckily no one in Garden has dared to challenge me since I was fourteen... outside of training sessions that is." *She paused a moment, wanting to ask what his story was but she decided that it wasn't her place. She took a seat at the top of the wide staircase, off to the side so she was out of everyone's way.*
