Ignoring the dwarf's muttered comment, Li bowed slightly from his seat. "A pleasure to meet both of you!" he said with a flourish. Then, turning to Sid, he said in a quiet, almost secretive, voice, "Now, you're looking to travel, and I'm looking to travel. From the sounds of it, your quest is exactly the kind of quest that will bring me to my goals as well. What do you say to working together? I can pledge my sword, shield, and bow to your cause, and all I'll ask in return is a share of the wealth we find on the journey, particularly of magical nature. I am no mercenary, so no further compensation is needed. What say you?" He directed that last question at both Sid and Khondar. He didn't like the idea of working with a dwarf, but Khondar seemed particularly stout and would surely be a powerful ally.

"Sounds great!" The now incredibly happy scholar exclaimed, nearly falling backwards onto Khondar. "I hope that this adventure will bring my life-quest to fruition!" She says with a laugh, holding an empty cup in the air.
Her tunic's sleeves fell down to around her elbows, revealing arms which had no real build to them. Clearly this girl was a scholar- and a rich one at that -since she lacked a tan or any muscle build.

Khondar gave the elf a curt nod to show that he was a little annoyed about the race of his traveling companion, but that he atleast put his pride aside for the benefit of the newfound group. As long as his new companion didn't cut far into the dwarf's profits he was okay.
"So when do we set out," asked the slightly woozy dwarf.

Li smiled at Khondar. "Why not tomorrow morning? That will give us all a chance to finish our drinks," he said. "It would also give me time to finish reading the scroll I purchased earlier today. I bought it from a local that another source had led me to. The scroll supposedly describes where to find a relic of long ago. I have yet to have time to finish deciphering it, though what I've figured out so far is that this relic affects a large area all at once. Perhaps you could help me decipher it, Miss Loreweaver?"

"Sure! Although magic is not my expertise...I'll use my-" She pauses to do the dramatic finger in the air gesture. "Superior Linguistics skills and my knowledge of the past to aid this...translation." She finishes her dramatic statement by falling backward off of her stool.

Li jumped from his stool to try to catch Sid, but didn't quite make it in time. "Um... maybe we should find a place for her to sleep?" he said to Khondar. Li motioned for the bartender and asked if there were any rooms available. He paid for a large room with three beds, telling the bartender to keep the change, and tossed the bartender a single coin that seemed light in color like silver but gleamed more like a diamond. "You'll find that to be quite valuable. I would appreciate no disturbances during the night," he said to the amazed bartender. "Mr. Battlehammer, would you be so kind as to help me get Miss Loreweaver up to the room?"

The disgruntled dwarf reluctantly wobbled off his wooden stool and grabbed roughly onto Sid's arm. He hoisted her off the ground and made a slow, but steady pace over and up the steps leading to their room for the night. All the while he was complaining about the embarassing scene and about people not being able to hold their ale.

Li'telanis glared at a couple of humans that had started laughing when Khondar had begun to take Sid upstairs. "If you value your tongues, you will not disrespect my acquaintances," he said icily. He quickly followed Khondar and helped get Sid up the stairs. At the top, he used the key from the bartender to open a rather large door. Inside was the most luxurious room in the entire place. It had three large beds with big fluffy blankets, a wood stove with bundles of wood and a small flask of oil next to it, and a screened bathtub that could be heated with the stove. How the tavern could afford to keep a room such as this was more than questionable.
Despite being luxurious, it had a foul aura about it. There seemed to be a darkness that betrayed the secret dealings that had been done in the room. "Hmmm... maybe I should have asked for a different room," Li whispered. "No matter. I'll just put an alarm up." After Khondar and Sid were inside, he spoke a few words in Draconic, waved his hand in an intricate pattern, and then traced the door's frame with his finger. "That should do it."
Li walked to the bed farthest from the door and opened the chest at its foot. He placed his bow and sword inside, locked it, then plopped down on the bed. He sat there staring blankly out of the window in a trance.

Khondar looked around the room suspiciously for a few moments, then over to the elf and his ward. After about a minute or two he decided it was safe enough to take his armor off for the night, but the dwarf kept his axe and hammer next to his bed within easy reach. He placed his armor and other belongings into the chest and locked it tight. Then the dwarf practically threw himself onto the bed not really in the mood to talk to his newfound companions

As the sun came up, Li stood up from his bed and picked up his weaponry, which he had removed from the chest earlier. He cracked the window open slightly to let a little light in. While waiting for the others to get up, he organized the information he had managed to decipher from the scroll so that Sid would have an easy time reading them if she had a bit of a hangover. He stepped behind the bath screen when he finished to adjust his wings under his cloak. Wondering if he should go for a short flight before the others awoke, he heard noises from one of the other beds and looked over to see who was waking up first.

Sid sat up, her right hand clutching at her forehead. "Owww...my aching..." Looking up, she turned sharply away from the window. "Ah! Who turned the sun on!"

Quickly double-checking that his wings were hidden, Li stepped out from behind the screen and walked quickly over to the window. He drew the laced curtains closed to dull the light from the tiny crack in the window. "Terribly sorry Miss Loreweaver! I forgot that some people are a bit... more sensitive to light. Would you like me to get some breakfast?" He walked away from the window and towards the door a ways while he talked, stopping near Sid's bed.

"Huh...? Oh...sure...that'd be great." She says, rubbing her head a bit. Note to self: No more Firewater. She ached all over. Her tongue felt swollen, she looked like hell too. She winced with each little noise that happened around her- god hangovers stunk.

Khondar awoke from his deep sleep when conversation began in his inn room. He crawled out of bed and the first thing he did was make his way to the locked chest containing his weapons and armor. After he was all suited up, Khondar reached into his back, pulled out an open bottle of ale and took a swig. The dwarf felt it was important starting each morning on the right foot.

Li raised an eyebrow at Khondar as the dwarf drank some ale. "How about you? Would you care for some breakfast as well?"
After waiting for a moment for Khondar to answer, he went downstairs and ordered the food. The place didn't have much in the way of variety, but the quality seemed to be good. A short while later he returned with the food on trays. He set the trays on the table and looked over at Sid and Khondar. "You two can help yourself. I bought a little more than I thought we might need, so we can take some of it with is."
