Taurëndil smiled softly. "I've been taught otherwise." He pulled out his holy symbol, a silver disc with two white hands bound with red cord shaped in it: the symbol of Ilmater. "The Crying God's worshipers are often mispercieved. Most think of us as crazy people who revel in our own suffering." His smile thined a little. "But that is not the case. Pain is... a burden. If by that burden we can allieve the pain of others, then that is a good thing. It is not always needless to suffer alone and in pain... indeed, is it not better to suffer alone than to share your suffering with others?"
"The way I see it, you don't owe anyone any favors... They're no more deserving of happiness than you are. Besides, somehow I don't think being alone and miserable is going to make anyone else happy... Especially the people that do find themselves wanting to care for you. By watching you suffer, you make them suffer as well." *Zahrah shrugged lightly.* "But once again, I don't know much about suffering or caring... I just think that people should try to find happiness where they can." *Don't know much about suffering... Hah. Well at least I mostly told the truth... Zahrah casually looked around the room, trying to keep her eyes far away from his. She stopped when someone approached them and addressed Taurëndil.*
"Wanting to care for me? And who, pray tell, would that be?" Before Zahrah could answer, he heard a familiar voice and turned to see someone dressed in all black except for an aqua star emblem. "Ryu? Is that you? I haven't seen you in ages!" He turned back to Zahrah. "I must beg you pardon, M'lady, for I fear I must take my leave of you for know. Perhaps we could finish this most interesting conversation later?"
"Whats been going on here? I've only been here two days and been ambushed 5 times...So the rumors are true than that the Guard is failing? My clan is willing to help if you need us. Anyways I've come here personally to help you find the people that killed your bride to be." Ryu pausing "Here this its from the leader of the StarShadow clan he asked me to deliver it to you since I was on my way here." *hands Taurëndil a letter*
Taurëndil took the letter from Ryu. "I hate to admit it, but Cormyr... is in a bad way. Despite the fall of the Dragon, many leaderless hordes still roam through our lands. We seem to be lacking in adventurers." He smiled wrily. "I appreciate your Clan's offer of help. Dark times are on the way... Cormyr might not weather this storm." He tucked the letter into his pocket to read later. "And I appreciate this as well," he said, patting his pocket. "I may be able to find peace in this storm at last." Taurëndil frowned. "You mentioned rumors... any specifics? And about those ambushers... were they human, or... other?"
"Ah the rumors I heard was that the Guard was failing here and that a large horde of mixed creatures is planning on attacking here within the next few months" Ryu said calmly "And for the ambushes they were mostly gnolles and some rouge mages." Ryu looked at Taurëndil "And that girl...do yourself a favor I know its been hard for you but its time for you to move on you can't stay held in one moment forever" Ryu said sincerly to his friend "I've been here watching and heard what you two talked about."
Taurëndil pondered for a few moments. "Gnolls and rogue mages, eh? That's not good... That means the Zhents. I wouldn't have thought they'd have the nerve to operate in Cormyr itself, even after our troubles. If they are the ones directing the remaining hordes..." Taurëndil shuddered slightly. "This should be reported as soon as possible." He looked outside the inn, into the darkness. "Culspiir won't be in this late... I'll bring him this information tomorrow. After all, it is his duty to act as the representative of the monarchy. He'll see that this gets reported." He thought for a few moments, then returned to what Ryu had said about Zahrah. "Eavesdropping, eh? I could really get to hate you ninjas, given half a chance." He gave his friend a friendly clout on the shoulder. "So, would you like a drink?" Taurëndil said loudly, leading his friend out of the shadows and towards the bar. "My treat."
*Zahrah sighed softly and finished the rest of her drink. She tried not to look over at Taurëndil, a little uncomfortable with herself at the moment. So instead, she kept busy by observing the people in the room, looking for anyone worth stealing from...*

"I'd accept your offer but I don't drink I like to keep all my sences at 100% what good is a ninja if hes not 100%?" Ryu said firmly "Haha forceing me out of the shadow alright only cause Im in friendly company though."
Taurëndil laughed. "You never were one for-" He broke off, stiffening. "You might want to go find some shadows," Taurëndil said in a conversational tone of voice, walking back towards the corner where his weapons were, turning his head all the while as if scanning for something. "Because I sense evil somewhere..."
Taurëndil walked over to the corner and picked up his shield, hefting its familiar weight. He concentrated for a moment, then whistled softly. He couldn't tell exactly what the evil was, but there was more than one, and they were all outside heading towards the door. Picking up his still-sheathed sword, Taurëndil moved calmly towards the door.
