*Amaera nodded, glancing over at Zerk nervously.* "Yes... All of the mages were dead... And so was he..." *She looked to Eldae again, lowering her voice so that Zerk wouldn't hear.* "I'm not sure I like having him here... You and the others need to rest and he can't be trusted to not cause trouble... He can't remember anything from today..."

Zerk sat down on the floor and closed his eyes. Shortly after that he had fallen asleep and fell over on the floor still sleeping.

(ooc: SWAT said he doesn't want to play his char. anymore, which is why I'm killing him off.)
Eldae watched Zerk fall over on the floor. He started to get concerned when Zerk's chest stopped moving. He bent down, holding a piece of metal in front of Zerk's mouth. "He's not breathing," Eldae said, looking up at Amaera, "and I can't detect anything in his mind. not even the chaos there was before. Just... nothingness."

*Amaera just stared at Zerk's motionless body, reeling from all of the confusion of the day. She sighed softly and closed her eyes, running a hand through her dark hair.* "Now what...?"

Eldae stood up, looking at Amaera with concern. "Are you feeling alright?" He sighed softly himself. "This city just keeps getting worse and worse. It's only a matter of time before things degenerate into open warfare. It's just that... I've lived here longer than I've lived anywhere else, except..." He trailed off, thinking of living in the forest of Cormanthyr when he was a child, before the attack by the Illithids.

*Amaera opened her eyes, looking at Eldae curiously.* "Except...?" *However, before he could even respond, she thought about what he had told her about his past. He had been through enough today... The last thing he needed was to talk about that... She shook her head lightly, gently placing a hand on his shoulder.* "Never mind... Come on... You should be resting. You've been through a lot. Take the empty room upstairs. I'll take care of getting rid of Zerk and watching over the others."

Eldae smiled gratefully, feeling exhaustion creep up on him. "Thank you," he whispered, embracing Amaera, then heading up the stairs, feeling drained all of a sudden, now that his adrenaline had worn off.

*Amaera sighed softly as soon as she was sure Eldae was upstairs, covering her face with her hand. She couldn't believe everything that had happened today... She felt so emotionally and physically drained... Still, she had things to do before she could worry about resting... She took a deep breath before walking over to Zerk's motionless body... Considering how much smaller she was and how exhausted she was, it took quite a while to get the body out of the house. It took even longer to dispose of it properly... By the time Amaera returned, she was on the verge of collapsing from weariness. Her feet heavy, she slowly and quietly went up the stairs, entering Kaali's room to check on her. She took a seat on the floor beside her, laying her head on the edge of the bed and closing her eyes to rest for a while...*

Eldae woke up suddenly, his broken arm throbbing in pain, and yet he somehow knew instinctivley that the pain wasn't what woke him. Standing up, he walked over to the window, being vaguely surprised to see flames, hearing the sounds of combat over the noise of the fire. "So its finally happened," he said softly to himself, almost in wonder. "A bit earlier than I expected, but I knew it was just a matter of time." Giving himself a slight shake, he picked up his backpack with his good arm, and hurried to the next room, hoping Amaera was there. Upon seeing her lying asleep sitting next to the bed, he walked over to her. "Wake up," he said gently, giving her a slight shake. "Someone's made their move."

*Amaera reluctantly opened her eyes to see Eldae there... Confused, she sat up slightly, groggily looking around.* "Hm...? What's going on...?"

"Remember how I once told you about how there were many different factions in this town, each one waiting for the right time to oust all the others? I think that one of the groups has made its move." He walked over to the window, looking out. The combat still seemed to be fairly far away. He walked back over to Amaera. "It seems like we have a little time before the combat moves to this section of the town," he said, offering her his good hand to help her stand up. He glanced around. "Where's Kaali? Wasn't this the room she was in?"

*Amaera frowned, looking at the bed that she had been sleeping against.* "She was right here..."

Eldae sighed heavily and sat down on the bed. He began massaging his temples, trying to think. After a few moments, he stood up, dreading what he was about to say. "I think... that if Kaali was feeling good enought to go somewhere, then she'll have to make do without us. We have to leave, and preferably before the fighting reaches us. If it does... well, if it does, we had just better hope that Tymora is looking out for us."

*Amaera sighed softly, considering this for a moment. She didn't like the thought of leaving without making sure Kaali was safe, but she didn't see where she had a choice. She didn't want to be around when the fighting reached the house... Eldae was injured and she wasn't exactly in the mood to fight anyone... She reluctantly nodded.* "You're right... Let's just get out of here..."

Eldae walked out the front door, looking around warily. He decided that his best chance was to go parallell to the fire and combat noise, rather than fleeing directly away. Motioning the way to Amaera, he began to head up the street at a cautious pace, keeping an eye out for ruffians taking advantage of the chaos.
