Something wasn't right in Xavier's school. It had been a gradual thing at first. It had started when Jean and Storm had left the school on a mission for the X-Men. When they didn't return and all contact was lost, everyone was worried but no one panicked. It had happened before. Then it was Cyclops after he went to look for them. Then Nightcrawler. Then when Wolverine came back to the school after one of his usual excursions, he left too. One by one, all of the X-Men at the school had gone. The Professor grew paler every day and every student now cast fearful glances at one another in the halls. With their teachers gone, they had been allowed a week long holiday. However, that week was drawing to a close and there was still no sign of the X-Men...
"Stop holding back and knock her down already, Leandra!"
*Leandra looked down from her perch on the boy's shoulders to see that he was getting tired of holding her up. Leandra looked up at her opponent again which was none other than her friend Mika Allen.* "You heard him..." *She grinned, showing off her small fangs, as she pushed the girl forcefully back into the water, her abnormal strength making it nearly impossible for the other girl to stay up. Leandra laughed as Mika fell from her partner's shoulders, back into the pool that they were all playing in. However, her laughter was immediately cut off by a large wave of water that came crashing down on Leandra's head, knocking bother her and her partner backwards into the water. Leandra came up sputtering, moving her thick hair out of her eyes.* "Hey! No powers, Tsunami!" *Mika just giggled as the two were immediately engaged in a splash war, something where Leandra was definitely at a disadvantage...
When she had had enough, Leandra lifted herself out of the pool, immediately shaking her head and flinging the water out of her hair. She wrapped a towel around herself and slipped into her sandals, heading back toward the mansion.*

Sitting outside under the sahde of a tree, piper was comfortably reading a horror novel. Comepletely absorbed in the book, she paid no heed to Leandra and her friends, sitting several feet away from the mansions back door.
The thing that stuck in the back of her mind, was the fact that today was her birthday and everyone in the mansion would know...and embarass her by throwing some large party or something. Piper cared not however, and continued reading through the pages of 'The Minds Eye', a tale about a young girl who was insane and thought there to be ghosts and other things living inside her room. She bobbed her head a little to some unheard song inside her head.

((It's a good thing I have so many X-Men characters, otherwise I'd run out of friends for Leandra to interact and plan with here. lol.))
*At the door to the mansion, Leandra was immediately greeted by Carmen Delgado, who had a rather smug look on her face as usual.*
"Hey, Lea, Kali just got back with the cake. Do us a favor and keep the little Changeling occupied for a few minutes while we set up?"
*Leandra simply nodded, glancing over her shoulder at the girl sitting under the tree.* "Sure. I'll find some way to keep her out here, even if I have to throw her in the pool."
"Thanks! You're a doll."
*With that, Carmen rushed back inside, leaving Leandra shaking her head. I hate it when she talks like that... Leandra unwrapped herself from the towel, quickly drying off once more before leaving it by the door. Running her fingers through her wet hair, Leandra made her way over to Piper, a curious look on her face.* "Reading as usual?"

Alexiss shook her head as she eyed the splash war from inside the house. Honestly.... she thought as she made her way down to the kitchen, hankering for something to eat.
She greeted a few of the senior members as they passed by, she rubbed her hands together as she entered the kitchen. She pulled the fridge open, her ebony eyes scanning the contents. Soda...juice...left overs....dunno how old pizza...o well... She pushed the door close and eyed the fruit that sat on the middle of the counter.
She pulled a peach out and bit into it, moving to sit on one of the seats. She pulled the newspaper over to her side, her eyes scanning over the headlines with something akin to disdain. She never did enjoy reading what was happening in the world, too many bad things happening too quickly....

Piper looked up with a quiet grin, nodding, "Yup..." she said, putting her bookmark in the book and closing it. She looked up seeing Lea's curious look. She quickly pulled some hair and shortened it so it was out of her eyes.
"You want to read it for a bit? Its a really good book..." She said, smiling. Her voice was, as per usual, quiet and sweetly toned.
Piper quickly ran a finger along her bikini bottom to bring the straps up higher on her hips, they had slowly made their way down a bit, and she didn't want the thing to fall off when she stood up.

*Leandra shrugged lightly, taking a seat next to her.* "You know I'm not much of a reader. I never really had the patience and I can't stand to sit still that long. What's the book about?"

Piper suddenly sparked up, "Oh! Its about this girl whos insane, and thinks theres like, all these ghosts and creatures living inside her house. And she like, speaks to them and stuff, and at one point in the book she thinks her mother is trying to kill her." She says, showing the title of the book. The cover page was black, with a dieing rose on the front. It also had a Medal on it, a Readers Choice award.
"I really like it so far..." She says, touching the other blood-red strand and shortening it so it would be uniform with the other.

*Leandra raised an eyebrow, resisting the urge to laugh.* "Yeah... It definitely sounds like your kind of thing. Why do you like it so much?" *This is definitely a subject I can keep her busy with...*

Piper tilted her head to the side, smiling. "I just really love reading books like this...you know i love horror novels..." She says looking to the mansion quickly.
Her gaze rests on the door for a moment, quickly returning to Lea's. "I think im probably the only nerd in this house who reads books like this."

*Leandra frowned, giving her a rather chiding look.* "First of all, that Vampyr girl, whatever her name is, sits in the library all the time with that kind of stuff. In fact, she's probably already read that book. I think she's read just about every book in this school. Second, you're not a nerd. Nerds are highly annoying people who think they're smarter than everyone else, hack computers, and spout useless facts and statistics every time they open their mouths. You, on the other hand, are simply unique. And hell, who here isn't?"

Piper giggles a bit, her face becoming slightly red. She rubs a hand on Lea's hair, 'accidentally' triggering her powers and causing her hair to become perfectly straight and extremely long, changing it a pink color.
"Oops!" She shouts, quickly retracting her hand and scooting away a bit.

*Leandra's eyes widened when they focused on the hair that fell over her shoulders. With a yelp that sounded much like the roar of a lion cub, Leandra immediately looked up at Piper, playfully baring her fangs at her with a hiss.* "That's the last time I try to be nice to you!" *She hissed again, shaking her head almost as though trying to fling the pink hair off of her.* "I HATE pink!" *Without warning, she pounced lightly on Piper, pinning her shoulders to the ground.*

Piper had look of nervousness on her face, sweat began to form on her brow. "Sorry?" She asked, letting out a nervous 'Heh Heh' and looking towards the pool. She tried to move her arm to touch lea's but felt it would have been useless.

*Leandra couldn't help but laugh, letting go of Piper as she flopped back to sit on the grass again.* "You should've seen the look on your face..." *She stopped laughing, giving the girl a dangerous but playful smirk. She pointed to her hair.* "Now fix this, before I get angry..." *She extended her clawlike nails, digging lightly into the dirt beneath her hands.*

With a sigh she stood up and laid a hand on Lea's hair again, making it look normal. "There you go...and that was a cruel thing to do!" She says with a giggle, placing a hand on her face and hair, so she looked exactly like Lea. Trying to look menacing, she gave a sort-of roar and started scratching at the air a bit with her nails, before collapsing to the ground in laughter. Her book had landed safely on her folded up pants.
