The pounding rain did little to alleviate Stone's foul mood. He'd been searching for a bite to eat for the last few hours to no avail. Trashcans that typically offered some redeamable food were rendered useless thanks to the driving rain. Passing pedestrians sometimes stopped and gave him money, but once again, the rain was doing its part to keep him hungry. What was a man to do? He couldn't even use his ablility all that well in the rain. Frowning he decided to try and get in from the rain.
An abondoned building was where he had been spending the night lately. It was located right next to a set of railroad tracks that had seen better days. Well, everything in this part of town had seen better days. Inside the building, all of the rooms leaked, almost as if the roof on the building was put on as a joke. He'd have to find someplace new. . . .

A young girl walked down the street as the rain poured. *How'd I get stuck in this horrible storm?!* Her hands covered her head as she ran in the rain looking for a place to take shelter.

Stone was lost, completely lost. He was already blind to begin with, but now having to see through an animal's eyes in this downpour was just horrible. None of the buildings looked familiar, nor did the streetsigns, not that he could read them in the rain. His owl perched on his shoulder gave a small hoot.
"Yeah, I know the rain is ruffling your feathers isn't it little guy. I'm sorry"
NO, there's somebody ahead, somebody running like they have someplace to go. Maybe they'll have food.
"Yeah, well they'd better."

She ran as fast as she could. Hopefully she would get somewhere soon. If she was lucky, she could make it to her apartment quickly, but she was getting tired and there wasn't much chance of her getting any energy to help her a bit with the sky being covered. So she just kept up her pace, hoping to reach someplace soon.

Through the rain a figure was rapidly approaching, the sound of footsteps could barely be heard, even with the owl's heightened hearing. As they approached Stone mentally tried to prepare a speach, something pathetic perhaps. Something that would get him something to eat.
The figure drew near and all that came to mind was, "Excuse me, do you have any food?" As soon as it was out Sone mentally kicked himself. How, stupid of a thing was that to say?

She stopped and stared at the man. "um.." she didn't really know how to answer his question. I mean, it wasn't a usual occurance for her to be stopped in the middle of a sidewalk being asked for food. So she did the best she could, "um... yeah.. not with me... but I guess I could get ya some..."

It had paid off, he wasn't sure just how. He offered this total stranger a dazzling smile and offered his gratitude.
"You have no idea what this means to me; if you ever need ANYTHING I'll be there for you."

She chuckled and smiled, "all right... well... um... let's get ya something to eat then... just.. follow me." *thank god Rachel is out of town. She'd kill me if she knew I brought a strange guy into our apartment.* She walked off, motioning for him to follow.

Stone followed behind the female intrigued by her voice. She seemed totally unworried by his ragged apearance. He knew his duster was old, and considerably worn. His jeans, what was left on them, were held together by patches roughly sewn on. Why was she so trusting?
As he followed her, the scent of rain mingled with her scent. It was amazing really. Feminine of course, but not fruity like so many women liked. She smelled faintly of sweat and some other fragrance, he wan't quite sure just yet. Whatever it was, it smelled good.

"I can't believe how quickly the rain started. I had thought I'd be able to make it back home before I got caught up in it. But... boy I was wrong." quietly chuckling, she continued to cover her head with her arms.

Talk with her, you don't mean to frighten her now do you?
"It did come pretty quick, but it should go away shortly. . ." he paused and sniffed deeply, very shortly.
"That fragrance you're wearing what is it" he asked. I don't think I've ever smelled it before.

"fragrance...? do ya mean the cucumber melon smell? I love that stuff. It always smells so good, but like with alot of stuff, too much just ...bleh... Not to mention it's really expensive so I don't buy it much."

"You should." A red tinge crept up over Stone's face and he was glad the rain was still coming down. It offered something to hide behind.
Yeah, that was an intelligent thing to say. Now she thinks you're some homeless bum that's trying to hit on her. You pervert.
"I'm sorry, it just smells really good" he stammered. With a sigh he asked, "can I just start over new?"

"huh? why? It does smell good though. My room mate is always stealing mine. But I get her back when I hide all her make-up. And then I never surrender it until she relinquishes what's rightfully mine."

She's a feisty one. You like that don't you? I know you, remember I can read your thoughts and emotions too.
"Pssst, shuddup" he hissed quietly. "Oh, no reason. I just forgot my manners and didn't introduce myself. I don't think I got your name either."
Are you even listening to me. She's going to think you're some kind of pycho.
"My name's Jon, Jon Stone. What's yours?"
