*Lilith held back a yawn, hardly paying attention to anything around her as she and Chance made her way through the building. Her eyes were tired from crying and her body was sore and screaming for rest. Still, all she could think of was what had happened, trying to come up with some way to keep both her and her brother out of trouble... Although she was sure that she would most likely wake up to find her mother and brother gone in the morning, her mother's mind filled with some lie that would make everything Lilith's fault. Lilith shook her head lightly, knowing that there was no real point in worrying about it. She tried to turn her thoughts to Chance instead, which really wasn't difficult. She was so thankful that he had come, even if she was sorry that he had to get involved in her family's problems. And she was almost just as thankful that he was with her now. While one part of her wanted to rest and just shut down for the night, another part was reluctant to part from her friend...*

Chance was relieved to see that most of the school had shut down for the night, whch meant they wouldn't have to encounter many people. He lead Lilith to her room and stopped them in front of her door as she looked as if she might have kept on walking if he hadn't. He stood in silence for a few moments, trying to think of something to say.
'So.... I'll see you whenever you next wake up. And if you're smart that won't be for quite a while,' he finally said.

*Lilith nodded slowly, not quite sure what she could say to show him how much she appreciated everything he did for her... She turned toward her door, thinking it might be best if she just left... But then she looked at her hand... the same hand that had been so afraid to touch anyone for years... Just once... I want to... He doesn't mind... Just once... She turned toward him slightly, and, trying not to think about it, she reached out and gently took his hand in hers...* "Thanks, Chance..." *She managed a grateful smile before opening the door, letting her hand slide out of his as she entered her dorm.*

'Yeah.. good night,' Chance replied as Lilith entered her corm and shut the door behind her. He stood outside for a few seconds before turning and heading back to his own dorm, which he found occupied by both of his room mates. ((I really don't feel like writing a convo for them right now, so I'll go ahead and let you post once more before I do that. ))

*Lilith closed her door quietly behind her, listening as Chance's footsteps faded away down the hall. She leaned against the door with a sigh, trying to let everything sink in. On one hand she wanted to cry, thinking about her brother. On the other hand, she wanted to laugh at what had just happened with Chance. It was amazing... For the first time since that day she had touched her mother, she had willingly touched another person... Skin to skin, hand to hand, feeling the warmth of another body... The simplest gesture made her feel so wonderful... It made her feel human again, not like the monster people saw her as. She was amazed that a simple touch of the hand could make her heart race... She briefly wondered if it was just Chance that made her feel so good... but she quickly shook the thought out of her mind. With her emotions torn every which way, Lilith undressed, climbing into her bed. It wasn't long before she was fast asleep...*

((All right, the Ven is done procrastinating. She apologizes for her unwillingness to post. )) Chance felt two pairs of eyes following him as he walked tiredly over to his bed and plopped down on it, sighing softly. Jay quickly went back to his book while Seth continued to look at him with a mix of curiosity and suspicion. Chance just rolled over onto his side, facing the wall. He suddenly felt very tired. before he hadn't even noticed because he was too worried about Lilith, but now he was starting to worry about the consequences of his actions. Lilith had said that her mother and brother would probably just leave, but even that wasn't very inconspicuous. He didn't even know what had driven him to just charge at Adam like that; there must have been something smarter to do. 'Fine, don't talk to me.' He didn't even need to look to tell that Seth was sulking. 'Stop acting like you're two,' Chance responded wearily, slightly annoyed that his train of thought had been de-railed. 'Who said he's acting?' Jay asked dryly. Normally Chance would have laughed, but he was too distracted at the moment to do so. 'You guys suck,' Seth said matter-of-factly and began trying to think of something solitary to do. Jay didn't respond at all, while Chance just shrugged absentmindedly, his thoughts beginning to reassemble themselves. He finally came to the conclusion that even if he did get kicked out of school for his actions that it was worth it. ((Right... well... I suppose this is a crappy place to leave off, but I'm not sure what else to write. and is it Sunday or Saturday? [In the RP. ] I can never remember.....))

((It's Saturday now. Be proud of me! I have a sudden burst of motivation, thank God! )) *Lilith woke up with the dawn the next morning, her body aching from the events of the night before. It took a few minutes for her to recall what had happened, and when she did so, she might not have believed it to be true if it hadn't been for the physical marks... She dressed even more conservatively than she usually did, wearing a black, long-sleeved shirt and a pair of jeans along with her jacket and sunglasses. Hesitant to encounter certain people, she didn't even bother with breakfast. Besides, she didn't much feel like eating with so much on her mind. So she walked down the halls rather aimlessly for a while, her hands in her pockets and her head down, before deciding to visit the library. That was one place where she could be sure she wouldn't run into her mother or brother, if they were still around...*

(( *Ahem* Well... I've decided to post. You don't have to reply if you don't want. I can't say I blame if you if you don't want to. )) Morning came too quickly for Chance; the only blessing he felt was that he woke to an empty room. He wasn't sure how many people he'd want to talk to ever again and on top of that he wasn't sure what to do about Lilith. Of course, finding her was an option, but things would probably be quite awkward between them and he wasn't sure if he wanted to add that factor to how he knew she must be feeling. Chance spent some time in bed turning the ideas over in his mind and came to the conclusion that ceiling, in fact, did not hold all the answers, so he made the journey from comfy warm matress to messy somewhat dirty bathroom to take a shower. The only thing that had become clear afterwards was that Chance definitely didn't want to see anyone today. He felt like he had done something wrong and should be getting trouble, but he wasn't yet, at least. It bothered him for some reason; not so much that he wasn't getting kicked out of school, but that he felt his decision was erroneous. The last time that had happened Chance couldn't remember and it wasn't something he was familiar with nor something he wanted to become familiar with.

*Lilith sat by the window in the library, thinking about everything that had happened. She caught sight of her reflection for a brief moment, and she immediately frowned. There was a light bruise on her cheek, which she immediately pushed her hair over to hide it. She sighed softly, turning away from the window and getting up to look for a book to read. However, it was then that she heard the sound of the professor's chair outside in the hallway, along with voices... voices that she immediately recognized. She crept to the door, cracking it open to watch her mother, brother, and the professor head down the hall toward the professor's office... Her frown deepened... This definitely wasn't looking good.*
