The flare of a beam shield caught Claude's attention. It was moving much faster than any of the other Mobile Suits in the area, and it was heading directly for him. He fired a few beam rifle shots at the new target, feeling out the dimensions of the MS and and the size of the shield. "Well now, looks like this is finally going to get interesting." He slid the beam rifle back into its slot on his left shoulder; then he pulled out the weapon on his right shoulder. He had depleted most of its ammo in the last battle, and he only had one shot left, so he would have to make it count. It was a simple Minovsky particle field gun. A nice little toy to disrupt sensors with.
Claude fired the shot, having it detonate about half way between himself and the oncoming MS. With the shroud now masking his actions, he released his Bits. The formed up in front of him in a perfect hexagon arrangement. He had then wait to activate though. Throwing the Minovsky particle field gun to the side, and compensating with a thruster burst, he readied his beam spreaders. The flare of the beam shield was still crystal clear through the M-field.
When the flight MS broke through the M-field, Claude opened fire. The beam spreaders fired their shotgun-like bursts towards the MS. Just as the MS came close, Claude fired one last volley from the spreaders then slid to the side, angling his Bits a little as well. The Bits activated, forming an I-field barrier. The barrier wasn't going to absorb the hit so much as help deflect the MS in a different direction. Immediately after the impact the bits disengaged the shield and began to reorient themselves. That hit had taken half of their energy, and Claude was not very thrilled to see that on his HUD.

Irous's had smiled at the M-field, it was a good opening tactic. The beam spreaders and the I-field made him grin darkly as he recieved an overload warning from his forward beam shielding. Too many MS were simply run down and spitted by his dive attack, a dull conculsion. He spun, transforming back to his combat form, a kick from a thurster mid-transformation spinning him in a corkscrew path to throw off his opponent's aim. His black and yellow wasp patterned MS was wirey, long limbed, and slender. There was an X shaped pack of thrusters across it's back, with a purely odimental X on the face, the longer upper limbs protruding like annteana. His left arm flicked out, tossing a flat disc Claude. Tiny thrusters in the disc kicked in, and it banked for its target. It was a bit, of a special and unusual design. As it drew near beam sabers erupted from it's edge, ready to shred it's target.

The quickness of the yellow suit's reaction surprised her but Jehanna had expected it to respond in a similar fashion, the way most funnel-users would. Fixing the positions of as many of the funnel bits as she could in her head, she put all her extra power into her main thrusters in order to dodge the volley. One funnel's shot still pierced her leg around the ankle, but it did not deter her. Without stopping, slowing down, or aiming, Jehanna let loose a flurry of rifle fire, as fast as she could pull the trigger, at the many small targets.

"Why do they always send the special models after me?" Claude complained to nobody in particular. He kicked his thrusters into reverse as he retreated from the bladed bit. Sliding the beam spreaders back into their holsters, he ejected the beam shield and sword from Black Death's wrists and into the hands. They flared to life, and his bits then arranged themselves around his left wrist, ready to provide an emergency boost to the shield if needed. They were only up to 55% charge now, which wasn't enough to block much, but some is better than nothing.
With a sudden jerk and twist, he flipped his suit around and flared his thrusters to full power. He charged the strange bit, but came at it on the side instead of head on. Using his shield as a wall, he blocked the blades as best he could and thrust his own blade into the center of the bit. The bit's blades slowly died out, but sparks coming from Black Death's left upper leg revealed he had taken a hit. One of his beam spreaders was cut clean off, along with a small chunk of the MS's leg. One of the leg thrusters was also a little damaged as well. Claude turned his suit around, bringing the beam shield up between himself and the wasp MS, ready for the suit's next attack.

Allistaire Raines watched the mercenary at work. "Get off the d**ned ship," he said as he readied one of his beam sabers and his shot claw. He looked around, spotted the nearest enemy MS, and began his methodical advance.
The pilot must have been distracted; he never saw Allistaire coming. Allistaire fired his shot claw into the suit's back, reeled it in, and delivered a well-placed thrust to the MS core, disabling all of its support systems, and rendering useless. It was a matter of time before the pilot ran out of oxygen. In truth, Allistaire preferred a living pilot, as long as the enemy equipment was trashed. But some deaths were unavoidable.

The funnels darted and dodged around Jehanna's fire, the small, quick targets proving very difficult to hit now that the person directing them was aware of the threat to them. They were spiraling out, moving to surround Jehanna, their return fire coming from more and more diffirent directions. Jehanna's fire managed to bring down two more of the funnels, but by then, she was completely surrounded.
Irous applauded Claude, his mobile suit's hands coming together in silent claps in the dead of space. His gravely voice grated across the open comm. " Not bad, you're more worth my attention then most, though I'll have to collect payment for breaking my toy like that." He charged, his right arm whipping back as the heat rod extended to strike. The row of beam shielding flared to life, wide enough to cover the entire suit from the front.
" The man might be on to something," Aras said as the OSSF ship continued it's plunge. " Let's get out of here," Sara agreed, and the twins launched off the craft. Its gunners only managed a few hasty shots before the two MS were out of range, and they quickly made to regroup with Allistaire and John. " So what now?" Aras asked, watching as the giant ship began to turn. It rocketed by one of the orbital defense platforms, and there was a sudden burst of fire from both craft, but the OSSF ship was traveling fast now. Its upper edge glowed brightly as it scrapped the upper atmosphere, and soon only the glow marked it out as it vanished in the distance. " Think they'll survive long enough for a sling shot orbit?" Sara asked.

"I doubt it," Allistaire replied, shucking the defunct MS from his shot claw. "Well our mission objective is complete, but i'm not objecting to helping these UESA chumps take out the garbage, either. Its your guys' call."

Aras laughed. " What, you're not satisfied with just disabling the OSSF's monster?" " It's cause he can't claim a kill," Sara said. " Men, it's always all or nothing for them." They regarded the battle. The OSSF forces were falling back, without their craft, there was nothing to keep the UESA warship from joining full in the battle, and the vessel's weapons were taking their toll, picking off any OSSF MS that strayed from the swarming battlefield. It would be a long flight back without their carrier, and after the battle, many of the mobile suits would be in no condition to make the trip. " I think this fight is over," Aras said. " Yeah, I'm leaving the clean up work to the UESA," Sara said. " I'm a pilot, not a janitor."

"Fine," Allistaire said. "And for the record, once that ship inevitably crashes, I can claim all of them as kills." He fired his thrusters, and headed back for the Lanchester ship.

If their mobile suit's could have displayed emotion, the twins' would have been grinning. They turned and chased after Allistaire, pulling up on either side of his suit, trapping him between them. " So, I think something was said earlier about dinner?" Aras asked sweetly. " I seem to remember something along those lines myself," Sara joined in.

Slowng down and finding herself surrounded, Jehanna cursed herself for letting that happen. She thought she could just barely feel the smugness emanating from the other pilot. It was time to change tactics, anyway. Taking one last, well aimed shot at the MS itself, Jehanna twisted out of the way of the incoming funnel fire and quickly stowed her rifle. She used the momentum of her dodge to change direction and start an all-out dash for the yellow suit, grabbing at and throwing all of the funnels that she came close enough to. Hopefully, it would be enough to distract the pilot just a little bit. When no more were in her path, she pulled free her beam saber, ready to plunge it into her opponent.

Claude grinned under his helmet at Irous' comment. He flicked his comm on in reply. "Well, with what I get paid, I could buy ya two of those little toys. Might even get some myself." He let out a soft cackle, then his Bits flared out around him. He held his beam shield in the center of the rotating Bits. Just as Irous got into striking range with his heat rod, Claude's beam shield expanded within the I-field that the Bits just started generating, creating a wall of pure plasma. Taking advantage of the automatic shut-off of the beam shield, he thrust his own beam sword right at the attacker through his own shield, creating a hole just big enough for the sword. The I-field wrapped the rest right back around, so there was no gap in the plasma wall; there was just a very inhospitable blade sticking out of it, pointed right at Irous' MS. Claude had left his comm on, so he made an almost teasing offer. "What do you say to trading some tech after this?" he said with a maniacal grin. Black Death's faceplate glowed crimson, almost as if it was grinning as well.

"Yes, dinner for three. Clothing optional," he said as the ship came into view. Truthfully, it would be hard to detect unless you knew what to look for, but then again, Allistaire knew exactly what to look for.

The yellow suit darted back, pulling a pair of beam daggers, catching Jehanna's saber between them. The funnels raced after her, but she was between them and their controller, unable to fire without risking hitting the yellow MS. The enemy suit pushed Jehanna's beam saber up, and kicked against her chest, knocking them away from each other. Then it turned, and sped off, it's funnels struggling to keep up. " Looks like they've sounded the retreat," Lira said, coming up along side Jehanna. She motioned at the remaining OSSF forces, all moving away, back towards the moon.
Irous grinned like a maniac as he drove right into Claude's blade, shield, and field combo, his own beam shields flaring like a burst of lightning as he slammed his suit into the other MS, pushing them both back. Overload warnings screamed in both pilot's ears as the energy between them crackled and surged. The heat rod glowed like a length of steel fresh from the forge, ready to strike the second his enemy's shielding failed, if that was what was to be, if not... Irous swore a vile oath when he heard it, the mission abort code. With a snarl he twisted, energy sparking as the two beam shields scrapped over each other, and then he was free, his suit twisting into flight mode as he blasted off. " Some other time my friend," he said to Claude. " The next time we meet..."
" I'll take the clothing option," Aras replied dryly. " Can I go for a half and half?" Sara asked, darting into the just opening hold of the stealth ship, cutting right in front of Allistaire. " Ladies first," Aras said, also cutting the man off to land before him.

"oh, Aras, you lack vision," he said with a chuckle. He docked Executioner, climbed out, and then headed to his quarters to freshen up.
