"thank you sir." Cardea bowed to him, "I'll let you continue with what you were doing general." she bowed once more and then walked off to clean up some.

He bowed again, keeping his mouth shut. He didn't care for any rewards. He had just let the wizard die and he wasn't too proud of it. He followed Cardea back to their camp. As he reached the camp, he could see the soldiers celebrating their victory. He kept his head down and walked back towards the stream running on the other side of the camp.

Cardea sighed as she reached the stream, knealing down and splashing some water in her face. She cleaned her face and hands some before getting a drink and relaxing there.

He bent down near the water looking as Cardea started washing herself a few feat away from him. He removed his weapons and started cleaning his claymore of the blood that covered it. He then went on to clean his shield. "Something didn't feel right back there...", he said knowing the only person that could hear him was Cardea.
He was just looking for assurance to make sure he was not the only one who thought so.

She looked up at him curiously, then thought about it.
"yeah... it seemed a little easy... If all we had to do was strike her down with some magic... why didn't it happen before?"

Once his weapons were clean, he kept them aside and looked at his hands. They were covered in blood. His face didn't show any emotion as he looked at them before immersing them into the cool water.

After she was clean, she took out her knives and washed them briefly, before putting them back.

He looked back at the camp as he saw riders being dispatched to inform the queen about their victory, no doubt. He got up to his feet and started walking towards the camp again. He was hungry.

Cardea stayed by the river, not really feeling like being around the others as they celebrated.
Her mind kept wandering to the ones that were captured, and how pissed off the guards would be when they captives wouldn't be in their cells later.

Some people stopped laughing as he approached. He picked up some meat from the large table that had been laid out. He turned around to walk away, feeling the eyes of others on his back, then stopped. He picked up another plate and stuffed it with more meat. Taking one plate in each hand, he walked back to the stream. He bent down next to Cardea and put the plate next to her. He walked a few steps, sat down and began eating slowly.
He liked it when people didn't talk so much as the other soldiers tend to. She was different.

He didn't say anything and kept eating. Once he had finished everything, he started throwing the bread crumbs into the water. He gave a rare smile as he saw the tiny fish lunge at the piece, finishing it before it sank to the bottom.

She finished her food and held her plate and bread crumbs out to him, "Wanna give these to them too?" he seemed to enjoy feeding the fish, so she thought it might be nice to let him continue.
