Zyphan winced each time Scoltun was hit, but knew he had something in mind. She refrained from freezing the ground when he gave her a look, but when he was about to be released, the phoenix caught his nod and knew she should do something more than just freeze the ground.
Summoning up more power, she signed a complex but quick sign that froze the water molecules in the air. These particles surrounded the two gun-wielding guards, encasing their arms and torso in three-inch thick blue ice. It took a bit out of her, but not much. She just hoped that it would be enough to allow Scoltun to operate whatever plan he had in his head.
((you can write the rest of ayden's capture, if you're taking the role of his captor. it'll be like running two stories, i guess, but with two people instead of four. i'll still control ayden, but you can have the captor and whoever else you want, like any guards or whatever.))

He got more than a distraction. The soldiers behind the two that were about to hit him again gave a surprised yelp. As soon as they turned around, Scoltun charged into them taking hold of their shoulders so they won't be knocked sideways before he reached the opposite wall between this holding cell and the make-shift barracks where he assumed the Captain was resting. He picked up as much momentum as he could in the few steps he could take, keeping his wings behind his back so they won't come in the way and throw him off. As he took the frozen soldiers in the push, using his body as a weapon he slammed the four into the wall behind them, making a significant dent in the door. He hoped it was enough to keep it jammed, at least until they got out of here. The soldiers took the brunt of the impact, he almost bounced back and almost lost his balance. Watching the soldiers crumble into a heap on the ground, he turned around to face Zyphan. They had been knocked out, maybe even had a few broken bones, but he didn't particularly care. Picking up the gun from one of them he made his way to what he assumed was the keypad to unlock Zyphan's chains and slammed the gun into it. He was glad it worked as he saw Zyphan's bounds opening and falling to the ground, the constraint around her wings retracting to the wall. He extended her a hand to help her get up while looking back at the door as he heard someone knock and shout something barely audible. He was sure they had seen the whole thing on cameras they were bound to have in this area. But the door was stuck. He knew the rear door wouldn't be a problem specially with her ice. ----------- The man behind Ayden was a bit older than the rest of the soldiers in the room. He had been responsible for his capture last time as well. He knew exactly what Ayden thought which had helped him stay right on his tail during the long chase he gave to avoid capture. But this time, he had walked right into his trap. Before Ayden could warp away from them, he attached a small device on his back using clamps that dug through his clothes and flesh, locking onto his body. "There you go, a god old anti-personnel mine right on your spine. This remote has a range of a mile or so and I doubt you are gonna warp further than that." That was a lie, the remote being good only for about 100 yards but he didn't need to know that. "Besides don't you want to meet your friend... Zyphan is it. We didn't even have to go after her, she came to us. Imagine that.", he added with a smirk. ((Too much? If you want a fight or escape go ahead, knock the remote off his hand or something ))

((no, good. i like it. very much, in fact =] ))
Zyphan ducked as a soldier's leg swooped over her head, but then she became instantly happy as Scoltun took out their guards and released her bonds.
"I like the way you took them out, made them all look like an art form." It was true, each soldier was, in one way or another, seeming to be asleep in an odd way, excluding the dented door and ice fragments.
She allowed him to pull her up, but was unsteady as her vision threatened to black out. Zyphan put a hand to the wall to steady her, but looked up at Scoltun with determination. "I don't know how much I'll last; that electric thing they have lasts a while...But let's do with what we've got, yes?" ---------------------------------- Ayden grimaced as the device dug into his back, and he instantly regretted not going after Zyphan. Seems as though is adversary had finally caught up with him-again.
"Been a long while, hasn't it? You won't get away with capturing Zyphan and that other one. He'll put up more trouble that you can possibly put up with." An idea came to his head, and while Ayden pretended to sneeze, he jumped forward, grabbed the remote, and warped up to that niche he spotted earlier.
"Seems you've still got a pretty good adversary on your hands, even though you have found our home here in the wilderness." He wasn't going to leave quite yet. The young man wanted to know why they wanted Zyphan, because she had never, while he knew her, to be of any trouble to the human government.
((perhaps this can turn into a quest to remove the device from ayden? and maybe he gets shocked or something every time he warps more than five times in a half-hour or something like that... i dunno. just thought the first idea seemed cool. that and the fact that he has to find zyph and scoltun and they all have to escape...what happens when the remote is out of range? just gets useless?))

He was surprised by Zyphan's comment. He nodded in reply glad to see she was optimistic about their situation. "Well, may I remind you that we will be in big trouble if they wake up. Actually, we are already in big trouble." No doubt the convoy must have been alerted. They didn't stop as the Captain must have reassured them he could take care of the situation.
He got a bit concerned when she told him that she was still weak. There was no way she would be flying. He looked back at the door before speaking to Zyphan, "Can you freeze the hinges on that door? It will be much easier to break down that way. I think in this situation, its better if you don't fly till you are completely sure. I can fly us both away from here...", he was speaking quickly as he feared the others would break down the door soon enough.
-------------------------------------
Before he had time to react, Ayden had snatched the remote out of his hands and warped to a spot close to the ceiling. He smirked again, "How do you know? You don't even know the other one..."
He was getting rusty, he wouldn't have let this kind of thing happen a few years back. There was another remote in the command vehicle but he didn't have the opportunity to get it before he could warp out of range. The soldiers had turned around and trained their guns at him but lowered them as they saw their leader make a quick motion with his hand. He was supposed to be delivered in one piece and unhurt. "Look, you can either come with me quietly or they are gonna put bounty hunters on your tail." He paused as if something had just struck him, "No no, I will tell them to hand Zyphan to the bounty hunters. I am sure you know what that would mean for her..." He hated the hunters but all the freaks feared them. They were always good to use as a threat while interrogation or in situations like these.

Ayden snarled at the mention of bounty hunters. "You wouldn't dare. Even someone like you...I wouldn't expect you to fall to something like that." He hesitated, trying to decide whether to risk it and go after her or to hear this guy out and try to keep Zyphan out of the d**n bounty hunters' hands.
He shifted a bit, and tossed the remote casually. "You really think I don't know him? He's been terrorizing you guys, always getting away at the last moment, foiling your soldiers. With Zyphan there as well, you'll have a formidable opponent on your hands, and you don't even know the girl's power extent." Almost in response to his statement, Ayden picked up the crackle of a nearby radio, and rushed, panicky words came from the speaker. Though he didn't know what it had said, he knew it had something to do with Zyphan and the other guy. ------------------------------- "Yeah, no problem." She promptly froze each door hinge with more blue ice, but sent a worried look at the door to the front of the vehicle. There was a lot of yelling and weird, non-human sounds that sounded of bending metal emanating from behind.
"I can fly as far as we need to get to become lost to them, but whatever we do should be fast; there's not much time before they'll be through." Zyphan wasn't sure what Scoltun had planned, but she hoped it would get them away, and also that Ayden was safe, back at home where they'd been staying since he found her flying aimlessly around the world.

He was glad to hear she could fly. He had the troops which were no doubt behind the truck to take care of. "Ok, as soon as the door I break the door, you fly out and don't stop to check on me. I will catch up with you", he said with a worried look on his face. He wasn't sure how his hasty plan would go. "Ready?", he asked as he back up a few steps and ran shoulder first into the door. The door came off the frozen hinges and flew back at the hummer that had been traveling behind the truck, the bullets from the guns trained at the back door bouncing off harmlessly off the door. He didn't pull back and braced for an impact with the vehicle, what he knew would surely disable the vehicle one way or another even if the door didn't.
He hoped Zyphan had made it out safely.
----------------------------------------
"I wouldn't? After you escaped we had to tighten our measures and uh... 'refine' our methods. If you really want to take the chance, go ahead", he said and swore as his radio crackled with shouts. He caught the word 'escape' before he turned it off. "Seems your dear friend Zyphan is trying to escape. We figured they would...", he left it at that.
There was a small tracking device that had been inserted into Zyphan's back. They had tried to do the same to Scoltun but his skin was too hard to cut cleanly for the specialist without leaving a visible mark. She would feel something dig into her back but if would serve their purpose for the short term.

Zyphan paused a second for the bullets to die down, then rushed out of the vehicle, a blur of blue and gray. She didn't want to leave Scoltun behind, but listened to his words. If he thought he would be able to catch up, then he would be able to catch up.
Pausing in her flight, Zyphan looked down on the scene below, watching Scoltun. He'll be alright. I hope. And then she turned and took off in a north-eastern direction, the opposite way they'd been traveling. She wanted desperately to find Ayden and see if he was alright, to tell him that she had gotten away with Scoltun's help. Her wings beginning to tire, she pushed on, hoping they hadn't gotten too far from her only home... -------------------------- "Refine your methods, eh? And what would that be? Putting in un-warpable barriers and trackers? You'll forget that it'll take more than just that to keep me in that hell-hole.
At the mention of Zyphan escaping, his mouth twitched in a smile. "I told you that other one would be a problem for you. Couldn't even keep them long enough to get them in the hold." He was only going to stay a few more minutes longer, then go after Zyphan and the other one, see if they were all right. Most of his worries were for the female, because she was so d**n curious about everything, but he did want to make sure the male got away fine, or if he wanted to join them as a threesome.

He hit the vehicle traveling at him at about 40mph. Added to that his own speed in the opposite direction, it made for a significant impact. His whole body shook as the door broke through the windshield and into the soldiers sticking their heads up from the top. The driver lost control of the vehicle as he was showered with a million glass pieces and then hit on the face by the door as it punched into the driver's seat.
Scoltun was thrown over the vehicle and hit the ground behind the vehicle. He knew better than to try to control a fall like this. He just let it play out and rolled to a stop about fifty feet behind the toppled hummer. As soon as he came to a stop, he took to the air. His body was hurting all over but he was confident nothing was broken. He just didn't want to be overwhelmed by the pain and maybe pass out in the process.
He quickly caught up to Zyphan and asked, "Are you okay?"
-----------------------------
"Of course those are there now. But there are some more surprises in store as well. I will leave it as a surprise.", he replied. Without a warning, he took out a strange looking gun and shot at Ayden. It was a high velocity tranquilizer gun.
((Totally up to you whether you want to be hit by it or escape ))

Hearing Scoltun brought relieved Zyphan of her worry, and she turned to see him flying with ease towards her. "Yeah, I'm fine. A little tired, but otherwise okay." She hoped she could hold out until they got home. That is, if he wanted to go back with her.
"I'm heading to my home, where Ayden lives with me. It shouldn't be much farther from here; I recognize this place." She only hoped that he would be there. It would be a relief to see him, to let him know that she was okay. Ayden was pissed when she left to see about the commotion. Hopefully, this would prove to him that she could care for herself. ------------------------ Ayden reacted too late to the tranquilizer gun, and the needle pierced his arm just before he warped, causing him to go not to the cliff over ten miles away, but to the top of a 120ft oak not fifty feet from the entrance of the cave.
Landing in a heap, he rolled onto his back and pulled the tranquilizer from his arm, though he was already starting to lose conciousness. "Zyphan...stay away. Be safe...I'll find you..." Those were the last words he spoke before falling into oblivion, draped over a branch high up in the broad, twisting branches of the oak tree.

He looked back before answering. The convoy had come to a halt and surprisingly enough nobody was shooting at them. He turned his head back around to face Zyphan when he heard her mention home. He had been on the run for so long, he didn't really have a home left. He thought it would be best to stick together for when they eventually did catch up to them.
"Are you sure it is safe? I have never been here before. Go ahead I will follow you." Fatigue was creeping into his body slowly. It took him some time to realize she had said a name he didn't recognize. "Whose Ayden?", he asked. He grimaced as the pain grew. He just hoped he would be able to make it to this place Zyphan spoke of.
-----
The man quickly lunged forward to take possession of the remote again. He was sure he had hit Ayden but then he had warped away. He switched on his radio and heard a part of the message coming through. "Repeat..." One of the snipers told him that Ayden was right outside the cave.
He ran out of the cave and saw him lying on the ground in front of the entrance. Some of the guards were already putting the gear they had brought with them specially made by the engineers for Ayden. It would scramble Ayden's power and prevent him to teleport away. His communicator beeped once. As he opened the device, he saw a blip on a 2D map heading for their location. He smiled to himself.
"All right, get him into the holding cell and keep him sedated. Prepare the carbon-fiber nets. We are about to have company." They all understood he was talking about Zyphan and Scoltun. The soldiers hid out of sight, the unit captains with their tranq guns ready. Four soldiers ran to the cave and hid in its darkness. Each of them carried something that looked like a missile launcher.

"Ayden found me a few years back, wandering aimlessly, trying to make a living in a world that didn't want me. He helped me make a home here, and we've been here ever since." She looked back at Scoltun, and noticed his flying was a little slower. "You okay? We can stop and rest if you'd like, it might bring up my own energy as well..." She could probably make it, but didn't want to push her luck.
Spotting a small clearing up ahead, the girl spiraled downwards, motioning to Scoltun to follow. "Come on. We can rest here for a bit before heading on. I think we're far enough into the trees that they can't follow us with ground vehicles." ------------------------------------- Ayden woke not long after passing out, and found himself in the cramped quarters of a holding cell. Four guards were placed over him, each one carrying a high-powered shock rifle and a mini tranquilizer gun.
He figured they would put him out as soon as he was up, so he stayed still and quiet, trying to get a feel for what was going on. Especially since they were still outside his home. Ayden decided maybe a quick warp out and back couldn't hurt, just to see what was going on, but he instanly was zapped with a thousand volts, scrambling his power and sending spasms throughout his body.
Well, so much for not being noticed. He thought as two of the guards turned towards him and held up their tranq guns. Ayden turned away from them; it was easier taking it in the back than the torso, and at least he could get into a comfy position before checking out so he didn't wake up with a kinked neck.
((the shock rifles are kinda like tasers, but...hm... have you watched Jumper? well, if you have, they're the same shock-sending like things, that scramble your mind and power so you can't warp. if you haven't, then they're practially identical to tasers, but more electricity and shocking than wires attacking you and making your body spasm.))

Scoltun gladly followed her down into the clearing after taking look around in the sky. He landed in a crouch and almost collapsed of exhaustion. He used his hands to steady himself and then gave up and lay down on the ground on his back. He winced as he felt around on his chest. The impact had done some damage, maybe a cracked rib at most.
He looked sideways at Zyphan and asked, "So is Ayden your....umm, partner?" He regretted asking the question as soon as he had said it. It wasn't his business but now that he had already blurted it out, all he could think of doing was to apologize. "I am sorry, I shouldn't have asked that question..."
-------------------
The man frowned as he saw the blip stop abruptly. Had they figured out abotu the tracking device on her already? No, it couldn't be. But he was a hunter, so naturally a patient man, so he decided to wait and see what happened.
His radio crackled again and he was told of the recent activity by Ayden. "Just sedate him! If he waked up before we reach the compound, I will have all your heads!", he shouted into the radio. He couldn't let him escape again.
((I get the idea about the guns. The thing he has been put into would be something like a stationery field to keep him from warping away. So, do you want the two to be captured or find the device? Remember, I had posted that eventually she might feel discomfort because of the device and maybe Scoltun would have to perform a procedure of some kind to remove it from her, in the wild. Or we can always let them get captured this time... And do you want Ayden to escape? ))

Zyphan laughed, and also lay down in the soft grass next to Scoltun. "It's fine, but no, he's not my partner. He found me a few years back, wandering from place to place, trying to keep away from the humans, but also trying to find a home. He brought me here, and since then on has taken care of me. Ayden's more like an older brother to me, though we don't have anything in common physically." She wondered what he was doing at the moment; maybe up in a tree like he usually is, watching the wind blow through the trees, or practicing sword-fights with invisible enemies and sticks.
She rolled over onto her back, and felt a rock dig into her shoulder. Moving to remove it, she found there was no rock, just a bump under her skin, and a red spot. "Hey...what's this?" She sat up, and turned her back to Scoltun. "Can you see what this is? A little bump on my shoulder blade?" --------------------------------- Ayden's vision was already starting to go fuzzy, then dark as the tranquilizer began taking hold of his system. Glad to have moved into a more comfy spot, he tried as much as possible to stay alert, the two guards watching to make sure he was completely out.
Within a few minutes, the captured mutant was snoring softly, completely without care and unaware that his friend was about to have the biggest surprise in her entire life...
((is it okay that i call them mutants? because that's kinda what they are... and also, is it okay if ayden is a 'jumper' in mutant species since he can warp from places? figured it sounded better than warper, and he can't really change shape like a shapeshifter...))

She lay down next to him but was up soon with her back to him. He got up as she asked him to check something on her back. As he crouched on his knee and turned to her, he got a loser look at her wings. They were very different from his own. He had wished so often he could retract them close and hide them like she seem to be able to. He was not violent by nature but the frequent encounters he had with those who tried to hurt him or even kill him had taught him enough to hold his own. He put his hand around her wings and touched the bump on her shoulder blade. It was hardly visible on her but she had felt it when she had lay down on her back. He made a circular motion with his fingers lightly to assess the size of whatever it was. It didn't seem very large maybe about an inch in diameter. He leaned in closer to see the red dot. He used his other hand to stretch the kind over the bump and saw a hardly visible cut. He now had some ideas of what it could be. "I think while you were knocked out, they planted some kind of device here. I am guessing it would be a tracking device. I don't think its anything like a bomb as they seem to go to extreme lengths to capture us and not kill us. But the tracking device is bad enough." He pressed down on the bump and saw the skin cushion under the pressure. "I think its planted a bit deep so it won't break by just pressing down on it. We... will have to take it out... or there is no point in running. They will always know where we are going." He laid a reassuring hand on her shoulder. He knew she realized that if it had to be done, it would be without an anesthesia and by him or Ayden. "I guess we can go to your home and try there...", he paused, unsure of what to say. (( So its upto you whether you want them to proceed to the cave, where they can get caught or not. Also, mutants would be what they would be called rightly. As for Ayden, jumper does sound better then warper Oh and it might help to know what she is wearing at this point. Is it the same as in that profile for Zyphan? I am not posting anything for the other guy since there is nothing going on with him. They're just waiting for now...))

Zyphan's eyes widened, and she reached back to feel where the tracker was. "A tracker? Well, if that's what it is..." She sighed, knowing that he was right and there would be no point in running. "I don't want to take it out just yet. I want to get Ayden first, and since they know where we're going, we shouldn't stay any longer than to get him and get out."
The winged girl stood and walked a little ways to a stream nearby and splashed her face with water, watching her reflection. She wore a simple red t-shirt under a small light blue jacket, both with slits in the back for her wings, and jeans tucked into light-weight black leather boots.
Turning back to Scoltun, she made her decision. "Let's go and get Ayden. I don't want to stay in one place for too long if I'm being tracked." Zyphan realized his wings were leathery and not at all like hers, covered in feathers, and how they stayed out in the open, not being able to fold away small. Her rescuer was intrigueing to her; the girl had never met anyone else who could fly, let alone any other mutant besides Ayden, but the friendship-making would have to wait for a less threatening time and place.
Zyphan spread her blue-and gray wings, and waited for Scoltun to do the same before lifting off.
((i think they should be able to escape from the cave, that way they can try and get ayden back and stay free.))
