The dark elf stumbled in at this point, "Hahahaha! That was fun!" He walked up to the bartender and asked, "Got any rum?"

The innocent?! Hardly... innocence in this city is few and far in-between. Still... after once tasted, they are quite to our liking. Succulent, tender... oh, how tender they are to our tongues... but alas, for the time being, we will comply with your terms. However, any more you should make will be ignored by these two, and so thou hath been forewarned. She spoke much like a human describing a good steak; of course, her voice had the same intent as well, but she also had the self-control of a human with her. The two of them, the demon and Carella, were becoming closer and closer to being one, which meant that Carella was acquiring a bloodlust from the demon, and the demon was getting Carella's kinder heart for those in need...
Carella went to turn back, but then saw the maid laying in the corner, and her heart softened... Walking over to her, she knelt before the woman, and took her hand in this one's own. At first, the woman's eyes went wide, and she tried to jerk back her hand and body; Carella tightened her grip, using her other hand to stroke the woman's tenderly. "Let me help you here..." she said, reaching for the wounds... It was strained, but she held back her impulse to attack the wound... At the angel's voice, Carella simply replied with her name, nothing more, nothing less, her attention upon the woman for the moment.
As frightening as she was, Carella was not a murderer without reason; she examined the woman's wounds, grabbing a clean napkin off the table and using it, along with a small amount of water, to cleanse her wounds with care. Of course, to keep herself slightly sane, she licked the blood from the napkin, a seemingly odd ritual. However, if one knew demons, they would know that this was the only way without directly feeding to keep her intentions in check.
Once she'd had the woman cared for, Carella turned back to the door, walking past the angel of death, a slight shudder running down her spine. She'd heard the stories about what they did to her kind, but it seemed this one was willing to compromise for the moment... Her stomach growled, and so did she as she stated "Lets just get this over with..." Darkness enveloped her, carrying her to the rooftops where she'd scout out her potential prey...

Karsten smiled, "Looks like I get some exercise after all." He jumped up and climbed the roof swiftly reaching the top in a matter of seconds. Seeing Carella, already a couple of blocks away, he started running, jumping from one rooftop to the other, all the while keeping some distance behind her.
Karsten whispered a question that had been bothering him all this while, "Why can't we kill her?" There is a code, rules and conditions, that decides who we can kill, Karsten. In time, you will come to understand it. The reaper never explained much about the his business. Karsten had learnt to be patient, and observing everything. That was the easiest way to learn.

Carella soon found her prey. One adult human would be enough, strictly of the female gender; a rather brutal homage to her mother's death. With one leap, she landed near the woman, who hadn't heard or seen a thing, and it seemed she was running from something else. Carella looked back and, upon seeing nothing, proceeded to attack the woman, sensing blood on her hands...
The transformations from her humanoid form to full demon were becoming less harsh, although they were still hard on Carella's body. But in a frenzy, she felt nothing... tackling the woman in a diving run, she immediately went for the neck to end her suffering... but stopped just short of sinking her fangs into her head's support, her nose sniffling a few times... Retreating her fangs, Carella sniffed her way down the piss-scared woman's body, and stopped just above her privates, then moving back over her womb... Immediately but slowly, she retreated entirely, leaving the woman in shock and disarray...
She couldn't even lick at the small wounds she'd created on the poor lady... apparently something about her simply drove Carella away, preventing her from feeding. It angered her, but she simply could not come to kill that woman, whom she'd helped to her feet and was now running away quickly. She sighed, then extended the claws on her hands, lacking the energy for such a high leap once more...

He ran to where Carella had been only a moment ago and looked down. She had landed behind the woman and lunged at her. He kept looking as he saw sniffing her down. He was disgusted at the thought of this gesture seeing her smell her prey. But then she let her go. He questioned the reaper who verified that it hadn't been an innocent so his fear had nothing to do with it.
She was too far away to hear him speak so the reaper projected the question to the demon straight, Why did you let her go?

Carella turned, responding back I found that one to be with child... It is a weakness of mine, being unable to kill children... However, do not think me to be soft. The next one will die like the others have before... Whether you still wish to see or not is your doing... I care only about my own satisfaction.
And so it was true; the next woman she came across, albeit taken much less violently, was nonetheless the one to satisfy her hunger... Biting into the woman's neck, she released the poison from within her body much like a spider, driving her fangs deep and true. Releasing the struggling woman for a moment, she stepped back, letting it all take its course. Upon the woman's dying breath were Carella's last and only words to her: "Sleep well... May God have mercy upon your soul and steal it away from me..."
Laying the now-dead woman on the ground, Carella couldn't wait much longer, but resisted the temptation to tear the woman apart then and there simply because she was being watched; pulling the woman's shirt open via a bit of force, she took one long draft, savoring the scent of still-warm flesh; the woman was not entirely dead, but just enough that her brain was gone beyond repair or rescue, while the rest of her functioned at minimal. She would feel, see, nor hear a thing, but she was still, in the slightest bit, alive until Carella decided that she should die...
Licking up the woman's stomach, she tore the remaining garments from her, and then proceeded to gorge herself upon the flesh, starting with the stomach first. Out of respect, the brain and heart would be left after most everything else was devoured or at least nibbled upon; she never liked the brain at all, but the heart was fairly good. Still, it was not hers to take, so she'd leave it be no matter what. The demon, now fully awake, twined its tongue around soft, bloody flesh and pulled it out, gobbling it up with a satisfied sigh as she continued feeding...
*me thinx maaaaaaybe a bit TMI, but meh XD its her right there...*

Karsten stood there and watched the demon devour the girl. He jumped down him landing close by and walked up to the still busy demon. He could feel the life leaving the body as she started eating through it. The demon hadn't yet reached her head. He closed his eyes and kept his hand on the dead woman's forehead. Gradually his hand began to glow with a white light. He slowly drew her soul out of the body and send it to a place even unknown to Karsten let alone the other mortals.
"Would like to know what she had done?",Karsten asked the demon as she was finishing up. He could always see the sins of the soul the reaper pulled out. It was something that reminded him of why he continued to do what he and the reaper did.

Carella had just finished the womb, and although she was burning her meal fast, her metabolism was slowing down, meaning that soon she would be digesting at a particularly slower pace. Tearing off a piece from what was left of the woman's chest, she glowered at the reaper, or whomever it was that the reaper had taken for now. "Not particularly" her demon growled, "It tends to ruin my meal... and my appetite. Two things I love more than anything else."
She finished up, unable to consume anymore of the woman. Cracking the kinks out of her neck, shoulders, and such, she stood, trying to lick the blood away from her mouth with her bloodied tongue, something that proved to be difficult. "water..." Carella herself said simply, looking for a puddle or something, anything to rid herself of all this blood, her belly sticking out a bit as if she were slightly like a ball in her stomach...

Karsten kept quiet, not telling her anything as she had wished. He leaned back on a wall close by waiting for Carella to finish. He wanted to get back to the inn and meet the others who had helped with the attack. He just hoped they would still be there when they got back.

Galius kepts a keen eye on the bar. Nothing of note was occurring, and the rotting corpses outside the door were decaying almost at 10 times the normal rate. The stench of carrion sent most of the patrons leaving for their homes, or wherever they came from.
Galius looked at Forman and pointed to the door. Walking outside, he began dragging the bodies, falling apart in his hands, to a nearby bonfire pit. The pit hadn't been used in ages, at least since the lase plague, most bodies were food for the vultures, but in this case, there were much more than the vultures could eat. Galius slowly piled them all up, and the stench soon carried to him. He walked over to the bar and grabbed a torch from the wall. Tossing it onto the decaying bodies caused a flame almost immediately. Something about them had an almost explosive property. As the bodies burned, the stench lessened, and was taken over by the horrific scent of a funeral pyre. Neither was pleasant, but the change was welcome.
Galius took off his gloves and tossed them on the fire, the scent no doubt on them. He smelled his own clothes, still with the scent of leather. He was fine. He walked back into the bar, hoping that would help. The smoke began to pillar into the sky. Galius hoped it sent a message to whoever sent those things here....
The day was wearing on, and little had occured, the bar was mostly dead. There were a few customers, but not many. If the pale men's goal was to kill Bernie's business, they did a pretty good job. Forman slapped Galius on the shoulder,
"Get some rest. I got it from here." Forman said, obviously troubled by his earlier failure, and looking to redeem himself.
Galius nodded, and turned from the door. The smell outside was thicker, but there was something in it. Something that wasn't right.
He took in a deep breath through his nose... The scent of arsenic was something he recognized. Such a chemical he had used many times in his earlier days as a poison. Quick, and effective. Though this was faint, it was there. Maybe that explained the pale skin, these men were poisoned...
Galius knew the nearby well would be contaminated. So, to avoid the water being used, he cut the rope to the bucket, and cut the handle. If someone were to use this well, it would be rather difficult....

Carella reached the bar just as the sun was beginning to set, she being slightly more 'human' than before... if that were ever possible. The stench of death was thick in the air, as was the smell of poison. Her walk on foot back to here was not completely without incident, however; her stomach was quite the normal size by now, having fought off several beings rather ruthlessly with her claws and such. She wasn't in the mood for letting her demon out again... And the only reason she'd walked back was because Carella would rather like to keep her lunch down than to lose it at the top of some high-rise because she over-exerted herself. Human females were getting harder and harder to find every day...
Using her outfit as a weak shield from the stench, she walked right past the remaining parts, which still smelt rank of death. Curious, she picked up an arm, and sniffed it; immediately, she tossed her head one way, retching up part of her prey from before onto the ground, while the limb was thrown straight into the fire... Now the faint smell of half-digested human remains was added to the smell all around... "To think this place was actually a city at one point seems impossible to tell if one were to see this" her demon side commented, equally disgusted with the events unfolding...
Her eyes trained upon the man she'd seen earlier, who'd cut the rope to the well below. Now they were cut off in more ways than one... the water inside the tavern already would only last for so many days. She just hoped that the well would be clean by then. Lost in her thoughts, she sat outside as a light drizzle started coming down, no doubt soon to turn into a torrent, as them storms did anymore...

He walked back to the inn behind Carella. He dispatched of any that bothered to try something. When he reached the inn, he looked up at the smoke that was rising from the corpses. So thats how the poison was spreading into the air. But he knew there was no other option. It was the quickest way to dispose of the bodies.
Karsten wasn't smiling anymore. He watched as the demon had picked up a limb and threw it in the fire after a sniff. Karsten could hear the reaper wishing she would do something to give him a reason to kill her. Right now, it was at best a stalemate, a situation where an angelic reaper couldn't touch a demon!
As he passed Forman, he nodded at him and spoke, "You fought well today. Don't beat yourself about what happened, those were odds no man could have won against alone."

Servios, upon hearing the conversation between Karsten and Forman strode over to the pair and slapped Forman on the back.
"He's makes a good point Forman," the ranger said slapping the big on the shoulder while offering him a smile, hoping that they had cheered him up a bit. Then he turned to Karsten and extended his hand, "Ye' left before I got a chance to thank you for your help earlier... So.. uh... thanks," he said to him somewhat nervously "...name's Servios Justeem"

The jolly Karsten was back in control. He smiled as he shook the man's hand. "My name is Karsten. I have seen you jumping around a lot but didn't have the chance to introduce myself. I should be thanking you... and the other chap, Gladius for your help in cleaning up the mess here." He knew he had to get this incident investigated but he wasn't sure if the others were ready or had the energy to help.
He knew Carella would be able to, but the question there was would she?

((OOC:I believe Galius just left the inn??))
"Well met Karsten," the ranger said returning the smile "and yes, jumping around is a hobby of mine, lots of fun, you should give it a shot" and he winked and chuckled a bit at his attempt at humor. Always trying to keep it light even in the worst of situations...
"But no need to thank me, we all have to play our part," and Servios' tone grew serious as he spoke his next words, "it seems we have quite a problem here, for these are not the first of these attacks, and will most likely not be the last. As I told the others earlier, a similar safe haven across the city was attacked and destroyed but a few days ago by these same... well these things," he said with a look of disgust. "I fear that something must be done about this before things get worse..."
