The alpha continued to circle and growl, till he suddenly gave out a snarl and lunged for Cezar.
Tala's eyes never left the fight.

He knew it would go for the neck. They always did. It made sense as it was the most vulnerable part for most creatures. He knew a bite could not be avoided if he wanted to end this fast. So he turned his head sideways and ducked. The teeth sank into his shoulder. He was ready for it. He turned his jaw upwards, and bit into his neck. He pressed down hard hoping it would be enough.

The alpha struggled and clawed at Cezar, trying to get him to let go, but seeing that it wasn't working, fought for a bit longer till her had no choice but to submit or die.

Cezar knew what needed to be done. He had left the last one alive and had paid for his mistake the next day. He couldn't take that chance again. He opened his jaws just for a fraction of second to get a better grip and twisted the neck as he came back up.

The wolf let out a yip of pain then went still.
The rest of the pack seemed unsure of what to do, and Tala just looked at him a bit shocked. She hadn't expected him to kill it.

He tossed the body in between the rest of the pack and Tala. He growled again, this time at the pack, ready for another, his teeth red with the blood of their leader. They seemed unsure. Finally they bowed their heads down, turned around and left.
He was bleeding from the wound on his shoulder. If they alpha had declined the challenge, they would have attacked as a pack together. He had seen the results many times, seen what usually became of their prey.
He walked towards Tala, turning back into the human form. He gripped his left shoulder as the pain came, not supressed by the adrenalin of the wolf anymore.

Tala changed back as well and walked over to look at his wound.
"Was it necessary to kill him? he already submitted." she asked as she looked to see how bad it was.

He looked at his blood. It was much. It would heal soon. "You see the natural order would have been that I take his place or his territory. As I cannot, I...we would have had a pack of wolves behind us with a leader back, baying for my blood. Thats what happened last time. I barely survived, only because of..." he trailed off.

"only because of... what?" she looked at him suriously.

He looked at her and smiled, "...full moon." They attacked me on the night of the full moon.", he paused and added, "I would need to clean this. Lets head back..."

She nodded, a little in understanding and the rest acknowledging what he wanted, deciding to change back to her wolf form to get there quicker.

He understood why she had changed back. He changed back, and started back. His front leg crumbled as he felt pain again. He growled a bit, mostly out of surprise as he hadn't expected it. He couldn't run as fast as before but he picked up some speed nonetheless.

Tala paused to make sure he was keeping up before starting up again.
It didn't take long for them to get back out to the water.
Tala decided for the moment not to change back and just laid there at the waters edge.

He reached the water and changed back. He took off his jacket and his shirt. Looking at his shoulder, he had been lucky he had moved fast enough to avoid those jaws on his neck. He took some water in his hand and put it on his shoulder.

Tala just watched him quietly for a bit, watching to make sure he cleaned the wound well.
Then she let out a sigh and walked into the water, deciding to clean herself up some, get her fur back to white.
