An' I told you whay I'm so worked up... ah friend of mahn is missin' and he could be in danger now! An' I thought I told ya to stay back at tha house back thar?!" Muld could feel her anger rising at the moment... so she quickly changed back to what she was talking about earlier. "Anyways, I won't be much longer... he should be around here somewhar..."

Sabre saw the tiny thing in the distance. Dante did too, because he shouted, "get him!" Sabre put on a burst of speed and quickly closed the gap. They had been tracking the thing for a very long time, and they sped towards it now. Sabre watched it try to get away, but he just managed to get it by the tale. He pulled it back and used his other claw to get a better hold of it while flying back to the area of the hut. Soon Dante was asleep again and Sabre was doing all the work.

Far below the edge of the world, was another world. It seemed to defy all known logic and certainly the beliefs of all the Salin that had come before young Arden, yet there it was. Trees, hills, a river. A whole new world stretching away in front of Arden's eyes. Arden had discovered a new world, lush and never seen by anyone before, his world, Arden's World. There were birds down there, he could make them out in the tree tops, and several other animals. But it seemed devoid of Salin, or anyone bigger. The world below was truly his, for as far as he could see. Which it must be said, wasn't really all that far. Arden was about to climb down to explore his world when he remembered something, Muldrine might come looking for him. He pulled the map out of his bag and attached it to a stick, then wrote on the back of the map the words: ARDEN'S WORLD KEEP OUT
PS MULDRINE WELCOME, JUST LOOK DOWN! With that done he started climbing, descending quickly from one ledge to the other with bounding courage as though it was the most natural thing in the world (well between them anyway). Arden could be quite nimble if he wanted to be, and for some reason dropping from a great hight didn't seem all too difficult. That was until one ledge disappeared beneath his feet. He fell, not far, but he fell none the less until he could get his hands on a rock and stopped his free decent. The sudden shock of falling scared him, and he froze in place clinging to the cliff edge with all the strength he had, which wasn't much. He tried looking down, but that only made matters worse and he couldn't get his feet secure on the slippery rock. In all honesty he really wasn't more than a few feet above the ground and probably would have got away with falling the rest of the way to the soft grass below but all courage had disintegrated from his body. He was stuck.

"Calm down sister, I am trying to help remember?", he said trying to control his own frustration. "If you don't mind, I will stick with you...", he added. He was concerned for her, and didn't really know what else to do as he hadn't yet met the other spirits and hence could not talk to them.

"Not at all. That silly lil' bugger should be nearby..." Muldreina looked around, trying to figure out where Arden had gone... Deciding upon following the river, she kept alongside it until she came to the cliff that stopped the Great Forest rather abruptly... Muldy never really liked the cliff much, but Gnome had insisted upon it, so she eventually gave in and let him put it there...
Upon seeing the sign, Muldreina burst out giggling. "Oh Arden, ya silly little thang..." she managed to get out before falling on the ground laughing. When she did manage to get a grip upon herself, she did exactly what the sign said; looking over the edge, she stifled her laugh when she saw Arden frozen stiff so far down, no doubt just two or three feet from the bottom. "Mah mah, aren't you the adventurous one thar?" she shouted over the side, trying to control herself before she broke out into another laughing fit. The whole thing was a hoot to her.
Still, seeing Arden like that tugged at her heart, so she had to help... Reaching over the sides, she created a vine with her hands, reaching all the way from the top to the bottom, a good thirty feet of line. "Try grabbing that" Muldreina ordered Arden as the vine touched the ground, "I promise that its sturdy... would I lie to you like that?"

(Sorry, been on holiday all week living the life of luxury in the sun, will be back on Monday)
Arden dropped the last few inches from the vines onto the soft ground and looked up. He thought about shouting a thankyou but Muldrine would never have heard it anyway. He wondered if she was going to climb down as well, but she seemed busy with who ever was standing next to her. Arden had never seen the dark figure before, not that it surprised him as he really hadn't met all that many people. With a sigh he slung the red bag back over his shoulder, waved and started off. After all he had a whole new world to explore, a world that no one else had ever seen, his world, Arden's World.
Cirtain that Muldrine would catch up to him if she wished to, Arden continue on the journey. He no longer had any real direction to follow, this world was completely undiscovered and to prove it he could not recal ever seeing any maps or hearing any stories of it. His nose however had taken on a life of its own and he decided to follow it where ever it took him. When he eventually returned to the village he would become known as the greatest explorer of them all.
Petal woke, her head hurt so she took her time in sitting up, but when she finally opened her eyes she found she was still in the small hut in the woods where she had spied that great beast before... before what... she couldn't tell what time of day it was, only that it was light outside, and she had no idea how long she had been sleeping. Her first thoughs though were of her parents, she'd run from them during the attack and they would be worried. Petal got up from the bed and left the hut, she would search for her parents and when she found them, she would look for Arden.

*Knight, he's been, like, friggin' busy >.> some people don't have your kind of free time you know?... that, and I forgot to post x-x totally my bad on that end...* The Valkyrie awoke after what seemed like a day's long rest, looking around the room she was in; it was obviously some kind of small dwelling, but the last thing she remembered was... Shaking her head, she tried to clear it up, as everything was still fuzzy up until now. She was dying, that was her last memory... dying on the edge of the battlefield, near the forest... had the forest spirit, in her benevolence, dragged her in here? Or had some other entity taken her in while the spirit left her to die? No, the spirits of the forest were supposed to be kind, gentle creatures... but even the Valkyrie warrior, in all her mortal foolishness, knew that something was wrong right now with this world. Could that have changed the spirits' attitudes towards humans and the like, so that even the kindest among them would ignore those in suffering. She could not even ponder that thought... Sitting up, she realized quickly that only her undershirts were left on her right now, looking over to see her bent and broken armor laying on the ground nearby. Now that she was more fully aware, she could sense a strong presence within a mile of here... two, perhaps? Just what was going on here? Muldreina turned back for now... Arden could handle himself quite well, though she left the vine there to make whatever return trip he had planned. She had more important business to attend to... Even from as far away as she was, Muld could see where some trees she was sure were there not long ago had gone missing. This boded most horribly; if such things as extensions to herself could go missing right under her nose, she being one of the most careful and watchful of the elemental spirits, then she could only imagine what was happening to the others... "Come on brother... We have our own concerns for now. Arden can take care of himself... We need to call a meeting on the Neutral Plain. You do remember what that is, right?..." She tossed a look to the tall guy, hoping silently that he hadn't forgotten that... The Neutral Plain is the one spot in the world where all eight of the world's elements collide in a single spot, forming the perfect meeting place for all eight of the spirits. It was rarely used, but when it was, something important was being decided there. The journey was unprecedented to get there, but once reached, each spirit was at home in their own environment, perfectly situated so that no reactive elements would be touching (ex- fire touching water, forest touching fire, ect... mostly anyone touching fire is a problem). As stated, only in times of desperation was a meeting ever called there. This was mostly because the spirits, true to sibling nature, disliked each other in certain ways. However, as any good siblings do, the spirits band their resources together when necessary, making the treacherous trip to the Neutral Plain to discuss the matters at hand. No mortals can find this place, for it does not exist in a place where mortals can walk easily... the portal there is also heavily guarded by magic spells which make no exceptions; this is to keep intrepid humans from mingling what the Goddess has created specifically for her children... Therefore, unless a spirit takes a human with them, then no mortal shall ever see this place... not that they'd want to. Its not exactly pleasant to be around eight disgruntled spirits who want nothing more than to be left in peace... *I'm thinking Arden sees something and is basically forced here... something to add to his tales well there's my post for some plot thickener... hope this doesn't die here >.<*

(( My dislike for hobbits comes from me blaming them for ruining the most perfect action-fantasy movies ever made, LOTR -_- and that dislike seems to have found a victim here. So I am gonna have my character hate Mr. Arden as well Dont worry, I am still in the RP )) Shade looked down at the figure walking away from the cliff side without so much as thanking the spirit who had just saved his life or at least prevented critical injuries. He couldn't really understand why Muld would want to help the mortal. He would have probably left him hanging there. He did not think it right to interfere with the natural course of things. If he was too weak to help himself and he sure wasn't going to. He heard Muld mention the Neutral Plain. "Yes I remember it. I had just forgotten what it was called after so many years. It would be the best place to discuss what has been happening. I need to address all the spirits as soon as possible." He didn't mention anything about the mortal as what he had to tell the spirits was much more important.

(Knight, I'm right there with you. Hobbits ruined the movie. By the way....After reading a D&D book of my friend's I realized that Lord of the rings isn't all that original after all. I saw a picture of that eye thing that was dated before the movie!)
Sabre came in for a landing near the hut as Dante jumped off a bit early. He remarkably landed on his feet and started walking over to where Sabre was about to land. When he did, he held the hatchling in one hand and sat looking rather annoyed at the squirming thing. "Hey, can you understand me?" Dante asked the thing. He rather doubted it, but nothing was ever really certain with dragons.....

*um... yeah... Lord of the Rings originally came out in the books during the forties... actually, i think even before that. Well before Dungeons & Dragons was ever even thought up as a tabletop roleplaying game. you want to argue the finer points of hobbits? Talk to Tolken about it... which would be kinda hard considering that he's been pretty dead for a while now... i'm waiting on Mir so this is all i'll post until he cranks something out XD*

*Panic not, I am still here… just very busy these days, and I’m afraid it won’t improve any time soon. Glad to see you all posting here again though, this is a good story that should be finished. As for Hobbits, there are no hobbits in this RP… the Salin are much smaller than those pesky, tricksey Hobbitses, and look more like garden gnomes than anything else* ----- Of all the things Arden had ever come across, Bramble Berries were his favourite delicacy by far. The sweet, tasty berries were quite rare, making them all the more delicious when found. His father had taken him each year to hunt for the best Bramble Bushes in the woods that surrounded the village, they always collected as many as they could find, usually finishing them all before they got home again. The mass of Bramble Bushes that now lay before Arden however was unbelievable, he had never seen so many in one place and rubbed his eyes to make sure he wasn’t dreaming. The fruits were everywhere, hanging from every tangled branch as he walked between them. Arden wished he still had his wheelbarrow so he could fill it with all the luscious berries, but he had left it behind too far away to go back for now. Arden chose a clear area near the centre of the great Bramble patch to rest. He started a fire, laid out his blanket, and then set about picking several hand full’s of the dark red berries. Soon he had a most delicious meal with the last loaf of bread he had left to go with the berries, and a warm mug of tea to soothe the soul.

(Ugh! NOW Vince tells me about his thread. Good job dude, I didn't even know you were here too! ) Horacius had traveled far indeed, he was in a place he had only read about, far west of his homeland. His armor clanged as he trudged through the thick forest and shrubs, walking far only to see what looked like spirits, conversing, and a small being, too small to be a hobbit, most likely a Salin. Horacius was interested, he had seen Salin before, but none who were so close to their natural home. Even his homeland knew little about them, only stories from the other nations, those nearer to the small things. However, what was being said by the spirits concerned him. They were speaking of problems and a meeting. Spirits of different types didn't speak on good terms too often unless something was going bad. The only times he'd met spirits like these working together and conversing was when they assisted him against the Death Knight he had slain so long ago. He stepped forward from the brush, finally reaching the small clearing by the massive cliff. "If spirits must confer among themselves, no doubt there is a threat to the world that mortals will have to give their lives for..." He said, walking nearer to the spirits, "Perhaps I can be of help, as your siblings have assisted me in the past..."
