Nadia rolled her eyes.
"I'm going this way," she said lazily, pointing a corridor leading to the left, "Buh- bye!"
She sped down the hallway, not caring what the others were thinking. The corridor led to a big sitting room. In the dark, she could make out several pieces of furniture, all of which of an old style. At second glance, she noticed something on a larger sofa. Taking a step, she recognized it as a human skeleton. She laughed at the irony of the situation.

Yarahlzaak was unhappy with the girl's rebellious nature towards him. However, as they had all left him in the hall alone, he decided he'd make his stand here. If the demon opposition wanted to keep an eye on his linked partner, he'd have to go through here. He glanced around the dark room and lifted himself up against the ceiling, where he'd wait to ambush his foe. He reasoned that the she-demons, as inferior to him as they were, could still acomplish a mission of this difficulty without the assistance of a super demon. He'd take care of the demon offended while they took care of whatever Smith wanted done.

" Is it death you laugh at?" A rasping voice spoke from the shadows behind Nadia. " Morbid enjoyment is something too few really appreciate." A tall figure stepped out from behind a large bookcase. Wrapped in a hanging cloak, it was hard to make out much of the individual, though his thin, long fingered hands were withered looking and gnarled. In the dark, Nadia couldn't see clearly into the hood, but she could make out the jaw and mouth of the person. No human had teeth that sharp, or a mouth that could smile that wide...
As he waited, Yarahlzaak became aware of a...presence. It was not in the room with him, but part of it seemed to move through the room. It had a feel of something watching, probing, not with eyes but by thought alone.

Yarahlzaak was unbothered by the presence. If someone else was indeed watching him from afar, he had no idea where that "afar" was... What'smore, if they were only watching, they were not an immediate threat. Not yet, anyway. If this watching presence was a demon, however, he'd have to find and eliminate it, according to his orders. He had no proof of this, however, and was content to wait for the demon he knew was out there. The one with the rifle...

they dont seem to want to bother you if you do not bother us... Amyee thought, hoping that Evaan got the message. She knew he was out there, and was ready to shoot.
She walked in behind Nadia.
"I dont laugh at death, I merely smile and wave..."
