((me and Ven, please no one else))
The woods were calm that day, undisturbed by all things. But that didn't stop one man, a spirit, guardian of this forest, king of elves and trees, from running through, racing the deer.
He laughed loudly, like he always did. There was nothing not to laugh about. It was good old-fashioned fun. He'd done this all his life, ever since he was a normal human to what he is now. A forest guardian, spirit like the others, the ancients, but he still had his body.
He continued to run till something caught his eyes.
A newborn fox and his dam and sire. The man always stopped to look at these families. It always plagued him that others were born with someone, but he was not... All he knew was he was left here as an infant... but who gave him life?... Why was he left behind?
He always stopped to wonder how he got this life... He loved how he lived, but he couldn't stop thinking about how it happened...
Before the ancient spirits had always just left him to wonder... but they couldn't forever...
So that night they called him to them and told the story, of how a woman with his eyes and hair had come in and left the babe here, leaving him.
They also explained, that so much time had passed, that the woman may no longer be living, but she may have kin elsewhere, if he should seek her out.
He did wish to, wanting to know, he wanted to find her, what the spirits called a mother, to see why he had been left there.
Soon after deciding, the man ran and prepared things to take with him, mostly just some fruit and nuts so he didn't have to worry about food for awhile.
He almost left as soon as he was ready, but the spirits stopped him, to warn him. He could be hurt out there, though it would be difficult with their protection, but never the less, his body could be destroyed and his soul sent straight back to the forest and then his searching would be over. And while he could look forever, he had limited time before the chances of finding his mother were impossible.
Their final warning was of the outside world. It was not the same as this forest, and many people would not believe a word the man said and to be careful of his actions.
Then with a heartfelt good-bye, the man left the forest for the first time since he arrived there as a baby, going at a fast run towards any form of civilization.
