Yuri sat in amazement at the other red-haired boys powers. Yuri was also skilled, but none of his skills where as flashy as that. Angry that that boy was impressing sugar, Yuri turned to that hiroshi guy, "so, hiro, what are you good at?"

((Eep...sorry for being gone so long... my internet cut out friday >.< *dropkicks Davis Communications*))
Hiroshi stayed out of everyone's way for the most part, but when Yujima got out the shuriken he immediately focused his energy. He created a slight barrier of nice, invisible air between himself and Yujima. After the show, he released the barrier. He had made all of the gestures behind his back, but those able to read lips would have seen him mouthing the incantation for the spell.
A little startled by Yuri saying something to him, he looked at the odd boy. "I specialize in stealth. A little magic and a sturdy ranged weapon go a long way." He adjusted his loose-fitting shirt, allowing the strings in front to come undone and loosen a little more. It seemed like his clothing was from, of all places, medieval Europe. He let his tail unwind from his waist, having grown a little more relaxed around the new people. He jumped up and skipped across the backs of the seats, landing almost silently on the same end of the boat as the girl. He wrapped his tail around his waist again and sat down across the aisle.
He looked at the girl and smiled. "You said you use magic, yes? May I ask your name and what magic you prefer?" He bowed his head slightly as he asked her name.

(O.o Really? You know I already introduced myself... Right? ) Watching the cat-boy, who's movements were so catlike she half expected him to curl up on her lap, move across the room, a thought occurred to the fire-haired girl. Had any of these people actually come to this academy to learn how to be a ninja? Yuri seemed more focused on Sugar, cigarette-breath, her favorite nickname for the one who'd gone so long without an introduction, seemed to know enough to get by already, and Hiroshi seemed to know what he was all about as well. She would have to do a lot of catching up later. Not sure she liked being the center of attention, Sugar hesitated before replying, "Um... I guess water is what I'm best with." In truth, she had done little more than water plants and save a few dying crops with her magic. "And, I'll say it once more, my name is Sugar."Once again trying, almost desperately, to shift their focus off of her, Sugar knelt in her seat, as she had done before, to face cigarette-breath. "And I still don't know your name!

((>.> cats don't pay much attention? lol sorry)) Hiroshi nodded in agreement with Sugar, turning his head towards Yujima. "I think we might have something to benefit from knowing each other. You all could end up in House Ren, which is the house I'm in." He reached under his seat and pulled a suitcase out. Opening it, he pulled out a small case containing a black garment. He held out the case for people to examine. "You'll get one of these when we arrive." He looked back to Yujima, expecting an answer to the question he had been asked several times now. ((REN Gender: Masculine & Feminine Usage: Japanese Other Scripts: 蓮, 恋 (Japanese) From Japanese 蓮 "lotus" or 恋 "romance, love". www.behindthename.com/php/view.php?name=ren))

(OOC: Sorry, I was gone a couple of days to spend some time with my friend who moved to Maine, I will try my best to catch up)
Yujima sighed a little, as the people around him begging the same question over and over again, "My name is Yujima Yamamoto," he answered, "I like long walks on the beach and horseback rides". As the sarcasm poured from his mouth, he looked at the peculiar cat-thing, he noticed that he had already been assigned a house, which became obvious that he is a second-year or above. "Ren house though?" he said with regret "When my dad went to SasukeNoYama, he told me that Ren house was full of wannabe ninjas and didn't deserve the nation's seal of ninjutsu". He paused a bit to eat a chip, then looked at the red-head and blew right in her nose, knowing this pissed her off, he looked back at Hiroshi and continued, "But hell, that's his opinion and it's mostly biased considering he was of Chikara house". Yujima started to lighten up on the cat-kid, he started to see his use on the lines.
(OK, well since GG started the houses how about I just finish them?
Ren: Masculine, Feminine Known for their ninjas of speed and stealth. Morally good but has times of questionable actions.
Chikara: Strength, Power Known for their ninjas of strength and sometimes weaponry. Morally headstrong and close-minded, but they never talk down an opponent. (See Tekko house for more info.)
Igen: Majestic Known for their ninjas that use magic. Morally good generally, they tend not to communicate with anyone that isn't "one of them".
Tekko: Steel (Hmm I wonder...?) Know for their ninjas of weaponry and occasionally strength. Morally headstrong and have a long time rivalry with Chikara house.

((For a correction on the meaning of Ren... Ren means Lotus or Romance/Love. The masc./fem. thing was simply a usage reference in the language. I think Lotus is a little more accurate for what I was thinking and what you put in. The lotus is a very graceful flower, but comes in many shades, the most renowned of which are the black lotus, a symbol of peace, and the white lotus, a symbol of death. Sorry for not including more info earlier ^^; Also, are there any less-than-good houses? Kinda like Slitherin from HP?))
Hiroshi's ears twitched at the comment about Ren house, but, contrary to what most other members of the house would have done, he held his tongue. He had learned a long time ago to allow humans a chance to explain themselves, not being as quick witted as himself, though it certainly was a difficult lesson. As was usually the case, he was rewarded with an explanation that seemed to be partially an apology as well. "Chikara eh? That explains your talent. Family tradition?" He glanced over towards Sugar and waved his hand towards her, obviously saying a simple jutsu that created a weak, temporary breeze. Turning back to Yujima, he smiled slightly. "She's not the only one with a sensitive nose you know."

Everyone is treating me differently Sugar realized. All in their own way, they had singled her out. Yujima hadn't exactly been kind to the others but he was almost vicious in regard to her and she could definitely tell that Yuri had been hitting on her. Hiroshi hadn't said anything really to that extent but creating that breeze told her that he definitely saw her differently.
Grateful for the reprieve from the smell but not the defense, she gave a slightly sullen look and retorted, "I do not have a sensitive nose." Talk regarding the houses notwithstanding, she sat in her seat once more and folded her arms beneath her breasts. "When are we getting there anyway?" came the inquiry. She hadn't actually meant to ask that, but she was eager to get there.

"probably not much longer." said Yuri. "and, if anyone cares, i'm good at close up combat with my own two hands and feet. If things get really bad i use my katana here for a little extra help. I can use that ranged stuff like shurikens too i just prefer not to. My signiture move is Chisoku, where i attack the enemy at high speeds from all directions" he said smirking. "probably means they'll put me into ren or chikara, personally id pick ren." he said, "but its not up to me."
(( chisoku means speed in japanese >.<" ))

(OOC: omg, sorry again, I have been really busy and too lazy to post again, I'll try to be better in the future T.T)
Yujima smiled at the comment the cat-man made about Chikara being a family tradition. He looked at the kitty-dude, "No,"he started, chuckling a little, "my dad is a steel worker and that made him incredibly strong, but don't doubt his throwing ability, he is one of the few able to develop a secondary skill so well". Never did Yujima ever want to talk about his dad with such high regards, his dad never liked him as much as his older sister, mostly because she took his ability to throw punches. Yujima got his ability to throw weapons from his mom, so he thinks of her a little better than his father. Yujima continued, "My dad was not only a decent fighter but a good welder, he actually made me this thing for my birthday," he tilted the giant windmill shuriken a bit to the side to see it better. 'Yeah, for my birthday, not a toy or any cards just a giant killing thing, thanks dad' He thought as he painfully looked the side. Yujima turned his attention to the whining little girl and responded, "Like hell I should know?". He looked out the window and could see a spec on the horizon of what looked like a huge castle on an island that is shaped of a crescent, with the academy on the far side of the pool of water past the canal. He turned back to the girl and finished, "See for yourself and make your own judgment" pointing to the island.

Sugar stood up, walked to the window, and gazed out of it. "That's the academy? It looks so small." She felt a little silly for asking if they were almost there when they were so far away. She seemed to be the only one without prior knowledge of where they were going.
After her look out the window was done, she sat back down, this time in the seat nearest the window. Deciding to educate herself, she asked, "So, how is which house you're in decided?"

((oooooooh... can't resist ^^; ))
Hiroshi grinned at the thought of the house assignments. It was only two years ago for him, but he already got to enjoy the fun of just watching once, and he was looking forward to it. "Well, Sugar, it's rather entertaining really. It starts with an evaluation of your skills. Most of the newcomers tend to mess up big on that because it's done in front of the whole school. On the plus side, it's not how well you do that matters, but how you accept the criticism that follows. It's a pretty harsh criticism too, but you should survive. Next comes the banquet. Of course, all the newcomers have to go before the entire group and be assigned before they can join in the celebration. One time last year someone actually argued with the assignment. That of course only proved that his assignment was right. He ended up in Tekko. That's about it...aside from the stuff that they do away from the eyes of everyone else, but you'll have to experience that on your own. It's never the same for two different people." He smiled as he thought about his private trial.
