She pulled her rabbit fur coat tighter as the winter wind bit into it, making her shiver. Just a few days ago, she was exciled from her tribe- the Black Wolves- for the so-called sorcery the feared White Wolves were accused of performing.
Her provisions were low, with only a few handfuls of dried rabbit meat and dried fruit left. She was hoping to make it to the White tribe before she was starving and frozen. She shivered again as the wind changed direction, blowing into her face.
This winter was especially harsh, killing anything left unprotected in its wake. Currently, the exiled black wolf was headed towards the white tribe in the hopes of being accepted by her tribe's rival.
She pushed her way through a large snow bank, peering over the edge to spy a multitude of campfires spaced between wooden huts. She smiled to herself, glad to have finally found her destination.
Preparing to make the descent, the black wolf lost her balance and fell down the steep slope, bringing a small avalanche of snow with her.
She landed amidst a pile of snow, buried up almost to her head. The young girl began laborly pulling herself out of the snow, cursing as her cold fingers refused to work properly.
((The White Wolf tribe is like a large market; every wolf type comes here, except sometimes the black wolves. The Red and Grey wolves come through often, so you don't have to be a white wolf. Choose whichever breed, but you'll need a seperate character unless you already have a wolf character. There is a discussion thread if anyone has questions.))

Damien looked up from his spot around a fire as he heard the small avalanche.
The first thing he spotted was a girl buried up to her head in the snow. It was a funny sight, but he knew it had to be cold.
He gave a small smile, showing his fangs as he trotted over to her, shaking his head a little before starting to dig her out.

(I'm assuming Damien is in wolf form; am i right?)
Finally able to get out of the freezing snow pile, she smiled at the one who helped her, and scratched his ears.
"Hey, thanks for helping. Um, do you know where the leader of the White wolves is? I need to speak with her urgently." She looked around a bit before hoisting her small pack higher on her shoulders. "I"m Jezin, a former Black Wolf."

((yep))
"Damien, red wolf obsolutely." he nodded to her, "leader's this way so follow me." he quickly turned and trotted off, stopping a bit ahead to make sure she was following him.

Jezin followed Damien, hoping that she would be accepted after what happened back home.
"Your fur color is really quite light to be a red wolf...Are you sure you're not of White ancestry?"

Damien quickly lead her through the camp till he reached a kinda hut, sitting outside when he reached there.
"leader's in there. not sure if she's doin anything, but what better time to find out?" he chuckled and then laid down outside, looking up at Jezin.

"Thanks, Damien. Okay, here goes nothing."
She pushed aside the drape, the warmth of the interior made Jezin's cheeks flush a rosy pink. Lounging in a rabbit fur hammock was Kalinda, the leader of the White wolf pack.
She sat up as the Black wolf entered, looking her up and down before speaking.
"And who are you, to come so boldly into my hut without saying a word?" Kalinda waved away Jezin's mumbled apology and beckoned her to sit on the deer rug before the fire.
"Never mind me, I'm only kidding with you. You have been on a long journey, no?" She placed a small haunch of roasting deer meat on a plate and gave it and a think slice of cheese to the girl, who began eating at once, savoring the rich flavors. Lifting an eyebrow and sipping her wine, she asked Jezin what she came for.
In between bites, Jezin told her of her mishaps at home, and of her trip to the White camp.
"You know as well as everyone else that Black wolves have no white on our wolf forms, correct?" At Kalinda's nod, she continued. "Well, I have a white star covering one side of my face, and white tips on both ears and my tail. But, that's not the reason I was...rejected from my tribe."
She looked up at Kalinda, unsure of how to say her next words. Taking a deep breath, she said what she knew would make the leader laugh, just like everyone else did.
"I can do magic. The type you White wolves do." The calm expression on Kalinda's face gave the Black wolf confidence, and she continued. "I was never meant to be able to do spells, only potions and item magic, like my ancesters could do...and I was thrown out for something I couldn't control..."
Kalinda kept to her thoughts for a bit, deciding what to do. It was obvious the girl had nowhere else to go, but should she just allow her to join the pack? Both tribes had always been rivals, fighting over everything. Letting this one Black wolf in would make quite a ruckus.
Reaching a conclusion, Kalinda nodded. "If you can get in a top place during the hunting season's race, you will be able to join our tribe, if that is what you are looking for. But be careful, some of my tribesmen will not like having you here, so be watchful and kind."
Jezin was so happy that she could hardly contain herself. Hugging Kalinda and thanking her repeatedly, she ran outside, taking a seat next to Damien lying in the snow.
"She'll let me stay if I can do really well in the Hunting Race!! I'm so happy! But, I don't know anyone here. Do you know somewhere that I could stay?"

"no, not at all. It's a little cramped for two humans, but two wolves should be able to fit fine." he nodded, leading her to his place.

Jezin pulled off her coat and stuffed it into her pack. She quickly changed forms, black and white fur rippling over her wolf body to leave a white star on the left of her face and tips on her ears.
She ran after Damien, her pack held in her mouth.
-----------------------------------------------------
From behind a tent, another black wolf watched the two wolves head off into the night. Calgon knew that if Kalinda was allowed any time at all with the young Jezin, then there would be no hope for him and his followers.
He turned away and ran soundlessly back into the woods, where four other wolves awaited his command. His one good eye shone gold in the moonlight.
"Let's move."
The five black wolves entered the village at one end, each one except Calgon carrying a torch in their mouth. The lead wolf marched up to Kalinda's tent and entered. Inside was heard a corus of growls a yips, and a white wolf exiting her hut, followed closely by Calgon.
"What do you want?" The she-wolf asked, wary of this intruder.
"We want the white-black wolf. You know who she is. Bring her to me, now." Calgon's little group circled around Kalinda once before dissapearing again, throwing a torch on a nearby hut.
-----------------------------------------------------
Jezin turned as she heard footsteps approach. It was Kalinda, out of breath from a hard run. "Jezin, you must go. Now."
Jezin shook her head, not understanding. "Damien, wait a moment. Kalinda, you just told me I could stay. Why are-"
"I want you to stay, young wolf. But Calgon, one of black lineage, has asked for you, and I don't think he intends to be gentle." A rustle in the undergrowth has her talking faster, Kalinda's nerves being on edge. "Damien, take Jezin away from here. I don't care where, whether it's back to your tribe or not, but she cannot be taken by Calgon."

((I edited my character profile to explain red wolves a bit, just saying they're faster than the other tribes and have a good memory, which makes them good messengers.))
Damien quickly nodded, before running into his hut and grabbing a pack of clothes and food, holding it in his fangs before tapping Jezin on the side and then running off, hoping she could keep up.

((ok, cool. and before you post a response, rocknroll was going to join this, and i thought this would be a great place for them to jump in. if we could pause this for one day or until they posted, that would be great))
"Hey, wait!!" Jezin wasn't too far behind, but she wasn't exactly the fastest. The snow made it easy to follow Damien's tracks, but she wasn't focusing on that. Why had Kalinda made her leave? And who was this Calgon fellow? The white-black wolf shook her head, thuroughly confused. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------- Calgon didn't expect the leader to bring Jezin to him. He was on a low cliff overlooking the tribe, and saw two wolves quickly heading towards the forest.
He motioned at two of his companions, and they departed, taking a small path to head off the fleeing pair or follow them if they escaped.
"They may run, but they can never hide. She will pay for her mistake." Calgon says to himself, turning back into the trees; the remaining two wolves following in his wake.

Silently watching from the large bare trees, Arden, followed Jezin and Damien's every move. The only way to spot her was her deep blue eyes which differed from her snowy background. She soundlessly jumped down and began a run alongside Jezin. Yet still maintaining her camaflouge form she was almost like part of the snow. She made sure to keep her distance so that she was just like a ripple in the still snow.
Her curiousity had always gotten too her and the moment the general normal routine in her white wolf community had an unusual distubance she couldn't get her mind straight until she found out. Therer was obvious danger cause the conversations that she had seen exchanged looked paniced and hushed.
She silently padded along waited to appear more clearly when they stopped.

"Try and keep up!" he called back to her, "I don't want to stop or slow with people after us!"
Damien knew that the other wolf clans couldn't keep up with a red, but still, it was important she went as fast as she could so they could get away faster.
