Phobia nodded. She didn't particularly like cops, they were too bossy.
"Yeah. He's only two blocks from here, I think. His name's Outro, and he sells everything from nails to vehicles. If you have a secret, he shuts up like a clam out of water." She looks to Wang Chung, pulling her gaze from the arriving cops. "Want to go now? I think there's a back door next to the bathrooms."

Fan stood up, trembling slightly, when the sirens of the cop cars were nice and loud. Her eyes dimmed to their usual bright purple without the glow. "That... woman... if you could call her that," she said shakily, "thinks I stole something from her. I don't know what. I don't know why she thinks I did it." She glanced to Phobia, then to Chung, then stared at Symp. "We should leave, quickly, and quietly."
Fan knelt down next to Symp. "It appears I'm not the only one to run into them before," she said in a whisper. "Will she be alright?" she said, putting her hand on Symp's forehead. "Can we carry her with us?"

"I think she just fainted..." Wang Chung said before looking around. The bar was empty -- apparently, nobody wanted to stick around and explain what happened to the cops. He went behind the bar and searched for a few seconds, then found what he was looking for and came back, holding something under Symphonia's nose. "Smelling salts," he explained to the other two.

The elf's nose wiggled a bit, then she scrunched it. before long she opened her eyes and looked around- fuzzy silhouettes were all around her. "W-what?" She asked, looking around. Her vision cleared, revealing her new found friends.
"Oh...hello!" She says, bouncing back to normal and pointing out the obvious. "They look angry..." She says, indicating the cops who were just now stepping out of their vehicles and approaching the bar.

Fan tugs on Chung's clothes. "We should go now. Everyone else did, and I don't want to know what those cops are like." she says with little pout. "Symphonia? Phobia? Let's go!" She starts making her way to the back, hoping Phobia was right about the door. On the way she keeps looking back at the others, motioning them to follow as well. She waits at the door leading to the bathrooms, and hopefully the back door, for the others to catch up. She glances around nervously while waiting. She seems intent on getting out as quickly as possible, especially as the cops get closer to the door.

Wang Chung helped Symphonia up -- she might still be a little dizzy while recovering from the fainting spell, and he didn't want her to fall again -- then followed Fan to the back door, looking back to make sure Phobia was following.

Phobia followed Fan and her friends to the back door, and opened it to reveal a mildly filthy alley. At one end was the busy street, the other a maze of alleys.
"This way. We should stay off the main road for a little bit, if you don't mind." Phobia went left, towards the other alleys. She seemed to hesitate at the cross, making sure everyone was coming before taking another left, this alley much filthier than the previous.
"It shouldn't be more than about ten minutes from here, I should think." She said as she moved some old boxes out of the way, one emitting a wimper. "What's this?" Phobia reached inside and pulled out a filthy, mangy puppy that was all skin and bones. He wagged his tail meekly, and Phobia tucked him under her arm. "You're coming with us." And she set off again in the direction of Outro's shop.

Wang Chung followed Phobia as she turned down a seemingly random alley. He kept an eye out for opportunistic homeless people... one of the Crimson King's followers often took the guise of a homeless person, and Chung didn't want to encounter him.
When Phobia decided on the spot to adopt a puppy, he didn't say anything... there didn't seem to be anything sinister about the creature, and he knew that when stories like the one he was currently acting out were told in books and movies, the heroes often had animal companions, so the dog might actually be a good omen.

Symphonia held on to Chungs hand as they ran out of the bar and into an alleyway. She conitued to hold his hand without realizing it, and when she saw the puppy she smiled at it.
"We should call him Twinky!" She says with a giggle. He could sure use some cheering up and food... She thought to herself, looking aroudn the alley and then back at the cops who were now entering the bar.

"Twinky?" Chung asked, looking at Symphonia, then checking the direction she was looking in to make sure they weren't being followed. "Why Twinky?"

"Because he reminds me of a Twinky...and he could use some food.." She says with a smile, looking over at Chung in bewilderment. "Why would we not give him a name?"

"I never said we shouldn't name him," Wang Chung said. "I just wondered what the significance of Twinky was... it sounded unusual." (OOC: When I referred to The Dark Tower in the description of this storyline, I never realized we'd have an Oy.

Fan giggles at Chung and Phobia. "I like the name. I don't know what this twinky thing is, but just the way it rolls off the tongue makes it seem like it'd taste really good. That poor thing looks like it could use some food too!" Fan starts to dig through her pockets. After a moment, she pulls out a little peanut butter flavored granola bar. She unwraps it and breaks off a little piece for Twinky. After Twinky had his fill of the bar, Fan wrapped up what was left. "That should keep you going for a little while. So," she says, turning to Phobia, "which way do we go, George? On to this Outro person?"

Phobia looks back at Symphonia and Chung, overhearing their argument. She falls back to walk abreast with them.
"Twinky, huh? He does seem a bit like one with his creamy yellow fur, though he really needs a bath." She holds him up a little higher, then makes and "Oh" face. "Um, 'he' isn't a boy. It's a girl, but Twinky will still work, since it can go both ways. Good idea for a name, Symphonia."
Phobia allows Fan to feed the starving pup, then puts her under her arm and continues on down the alley for about five minutes. Phobia stopps at a 'T' and looks twice each way, as if unsure of the direction. After a minute she points right. "That way, I think," she says, and marches on.
This alley was cleaner and wider than the past ones, and Phobia stops in front of a large door, dark red in color. She pulls a string next to it, and bells of all tone ring out somewhere beyond the door.
She looks back at the others, making sure they're following. "This will only be a moment. He's slow to answering sometimes, but quick to allow visitors." As Phobia finishes talking, a multitude of clanks and scraping sounds erupt from behind the door, and she takes a step back, a grin on her face with a hand scratching the poor pup's head.
((what's an Oy? something from The Dark Tower? i'm assuming you're refering to the puppy.))

(It's the name of the dog -- actually, he's called a billy bumbler -- in The Dark Tower books. If f-words don't offend you, I'd recommend you read them... they're excellent, despite a slow start in the 1st book and some pretty random genre-shifting.)
Wang Chung looked curiously at the red door -- it was the only part of any of the surrounding buildings that was colored red. He heard a lot of unusual sounds coming from the other side of the door, and wondered briefly if Outro was perhaps a machine rather than a man.
