He turned to Karina and was glad to see her working on the problem without showing signs of shock. He smiled and answered Jason's question first before moving on to Karina's, "Yes, I saw at least 6 people going on that boat. But before we start for it, we need to stock up for the journey. Food, water bottles which we can fill on the way. Its about a day's journey from here, well really half a day's but... I can't... with the leg now..." He looked down, feeling bad for being the reason for the delay.

"Don't worry about it," Jason said, noting the expression on Chris' face and realizing what he must be feeling. "There's two of us with hurt legs," he indicated Karina's ankle, "and LJ and I aren't one hundred percent either. A slow pace is probably better for all involved if this group wants to do any heavy traveling, and yes, that is my official medical opinion." He winked at Chris, hoping to soften the blow the other man had felt when he realized his injury might slow the party down.

"Well, even at a slow pace, I still want to get farther down the beach and away from this spot, cause if they come back a second time..." Karina shivered, not wanting to find out what the answer to her thought might be. "As long as we can get out, I don't really care. But there's water that way and we can get lots of fruit almost anywhere on this island..."

Jason nodded. "And we should probably take some food with us, so we can eat when we stop to rest." He picked up enough fruit for the four of them, the remaining bottles of water and medicine, and a few packages of airline peanuts, and stuffed it all into a medium-sized carry-on bag. He then slung the bag over his good shoulder and asked, "Is there anything else we might need to take with us?"

He nodded and looked around. "I think we have everything. We should leave now so by the time we reach near the village, it would be dark. Keep your eyes open. Karina, um, unless you are sure Tito will remain quiet, we shouldn't take him with us...", he looked at Jason for some support on the argument. He knew it was bad after all Tito had fought bravely with them but they didn't really have much choice. ((Anyone has a problem with a little Godmode here with assuming that LJ would be following us? Rosy doesn't seem to be posting again ))

(Fine with me, just to keep things moving along. She'll probably be back in time to split off from the rest of us if she doesn't want to be rescued anyway.)
Jason looked from Tito to Chris, intentionally avoiding Karina's gaze, then said, "If we leave him here, he's food. It'd be like abandoning you or LJ, Chris. We do need to find a way to shut him up, though." Jason rummaged through a bag he had found earlier that had apparently belonged to a bondage model (or something of that nature), and removed several gags of widely varied types. "Any of these look like they might fit him?" he asked, washing his hands once he set them down because he didn't even want to think about where those beads might have been.

LJ spoke for the first time in a while, "He's not a person, he's a dog. An animal. I agree with Chris. He made it by himself so far, he'll be fine." She felt a little guilty for what she was saying and purposefully avoided Karina's gaze, knowing that she was fond of Tito. ((sh** sh** sh** sorry I'm so absent. I'm just so freaking busy. ERRG. AND this is my 666th post. ))

Karina didn't like where the conversation had gone, and glared at both LJ and Chris. "He's been help, hasn't he? And he only barks or makes sounds if anything is coming near that might threaten us." She looked to Jason, her gaze still hard, but it wasn't a harsh glare. "A gag will do fine, if you guys don't trust him enough..."
She grabbed a strip from Jason and while Tito sat patiently, tied it around his muzzle, standing with a little pain and placing her hands on her hips. "I won't leave him here, and just for the record, people are animals too, we're just a different breed."

"As someone with a degree in biology, I can verify that," Jason said, nodding gravely with Karina's assertion that people are animals. This place had certainly brought out the animal in him... he wouldn't miss it once he left.

Chris didn't want to argue right now, especially when he knew it would achieve nothing. "Fine, lets get moving...",he said and started moving slowly along the beach. He would put off entering the forest for as long as possible mainly because of the terrainand the added danger. He looked back once at Karina and Tito. Tito would be gone by the next morning, one way or the other, he would make sure of that.
((I cant remember now whether they collected supplies or not so I will assume they did. Rosy, you still around I hope... ))

(Haven't seen her log in in a while, but she has a tendency to leave for a month or so and then pop back in so hopefully the end of her month of absence is near. As for collecting supplies, I'm pretty sure we did.)
Jason fell into step behind everyone else, wanting to make sure the others were getting around okay with their injuries. He thought Karina's ankle might actually be getting better, but Chris' leg was questionable. However, it seemed to be holding up okay for now.

(I have no idear what to post either, but the way you typed that reminded me of a joke.
What do you call a blind deer?
No idear.
What do you call a blind, impotent deer?
No f**kin' idear.
What do you call a blind, impotent deer with no legs?
Still no f**kin' idear.
Yeah, it's a little racy, and I stretched the parentheses a bit much, but I couldn't resist posting it.)

Karina fell into step behind Chris, with a now forced-silent Tito at her side. She knew he didn't like it, and neither did she, but if he was to stay with them and alive, it would have to suffice. The glance Chris threw at her didn't sit well, and she called the dog closer to her side. Something told the girl she would have to keep a close eye on her friend.
After walking for a while (and noticing that her ankle was doing a lot better than it was the first day), she started to wonder about where they would stay once night fell. "What do we do once night comes? It would be smart to post a sentry, wouldn't it? That way we have a lesser chance of being sneaked up on and attacked?"

Karina had a good point. As he saw it they had two choices, either go for it tonight but with hardly any preparations or wait a whole day out and go the night after after making proper preparations. He thought it would be best to ask the rest. He told them about the two choices. He continued after that, "At his pace we should reach the boat if we don't stop for anything... not even at the marshes. So what do you all say?" He looked around once at everybody but continuing to walk.
