Eldae sat on the grass, calmly enjoying the music. He wasn't in the mood for dancing or eating at the moment, but the festival was magnificent to behold nonetheless. After a while, though, he began to notice that something was happening. The music was slowly stopping, and the dancers were all turning to stare at someone. Hastily getting up to go and get a better look at the commotion, he accidentally tripped someone else hurrying over to see what everyone was looking at. "Gah! I'm sorry... are you alright?" he asked, extending a hand.
((Starting right as Feanor makes an entrance to the festival (the one being held when Melkor and Ungoliant attack), coming back from exile without the Silmarils))

*Aranel had her eyes closed as she sat quietly in the grass, absolutely adoring the beautiful music. However, that music slowly began to fade, and Aranel was forced to open her eyes and see what could possibly cause such a tragedy. She noticed how everyone was stopping, even the musicians, gazing at some sort of commotion that she couldn't see from her position. She had just stood to get a better look when she was abruptly tripped and tumbled lightly into the grass. She heard a voice and glanced up, accepting the hand that was offered to her.* "I am fine... No harm done..."

Eldae helped Aranel to her feet, temporarily stopping his attempt to try and see the source of the commotion. "I go by Eldae, of the house of Fingon," he said, inclining his head slightly.

*Aranel gave him a gentle smile, lightly brushing off her gown.* "Well met... I am Aranel, daughter of Maglor..."

"I'd like to apologize for my clumsiness... I'm not usually this careless." Eldae turned to try and look past the crowds. "Have you any idea what is causing all this chaos?"

*Aranel followed his gaze, her smile fading.* "None at all... But whatever it is, I wish it would cease so the music could begin again..." *She stood on her toes, trying desperately to see over the sea of people in her way.*

"Yes, it was rather nice..." Eldae said vacantly, still trying to see somethign that would help him understand what was happening. He caught a slight glimpse of color past the heads of those in front of him, and inhaled sharply. "Impossible..." he muttered, disbelieveing.

*Aranel frowned, looking up at Eldae with a curious expression.* "What is it...? Can you see what is happening...?"

Eldae shook his head. "It looked like the emblem of Feanor... but it couldn't have been. He's been in exile for so long... why would he return now?"

*Aranel's eyes widened and her frown deepened as she continued gazing up at him.* "Feanor...? Surely not... You must have seen wrong..."

Eldae nodded gravely. "That's what I thought... although the return of Feanor would certainly explain the commotion."

*Aranel shook her head, refusing to believe that her kin would return... It had been too long...* "Indeed... but he would not return... You must be mistaken..." *She glanced at the crowd again.* "Come... Let us try and get closer..."

"Agreed..." Eldae turned towards the crowd in front of him and began working his way through it, gently pushing those in his way aside whenever he couldn't keep going.

*Aranel followed close behind Eldae, sliding through the crowd as he parted it ahead of her.*

Eldae made his way through the crowd, occasionally looking back to make sure that Aranel was still following him. He managed to reach a spot near the front of the crowd, and stopped abruptly. "So Feanor is back after all," he said quietly to himself.
