((For those of you that didn't read the planning of this thread, it takes place during the Second Age. The host of the Last Alliance is about to arrive in Rivendell to gather the elves of Imladris and prepare for the final march against Sauron.))
*The clang of metal rang through the air as Erthadan pounded another blade into shape. With so much war and violence spreading throughout Middle Earth because of Sauron's malice, Erthadan's weapons and armor were in high demand. Still, despite the unhappy reasons why he worked, Erthadan sang all the while, as was his custom. Today he sang of the fall of Gondolin while his hammer struck the red hot metal. However, even over the clanging and his song, Erthadan heard the noise that signaled an arrival. He didn't stop working. Word had come to Imladris of the host of men and elves marching to them. And if this Alliance wanted to be on the move in time to stop Sauron, Erthadan had a great deal of work ahead of him...*

Xanatos was walking through the streets of Imladris. It was a nice day. He new that an army of elves and men were coming to Imladris. They were going to fight against Sauron and his huge army of evil minions.
Xanatos is an insane elf and likes to kill things, although he is no murderer. The reason he is insane is because when he was little, he and his parents were traveling when they were attacked by some orcs. Xanatos managed to escape, but his parents did not. That is when he went crazy and started to kill evil things, like orcs.
The elf heard marching off in the distance and knew right away the army was almost here. He was planning on joining up with them and their fight against Sauron and his minions.

Cyrano yawned and reminded himself to keep moving his feet and walking. Having nothing else to do, he simply focused on the back of the soldier in front of him as they marched through the woods towards Imladris. Already Cyrano missed the city of Fornost, he just didn't belong in the woods, it was far too.... peaceful.
Tugging at his gloves impatiently, Cyrano wondered why in Middle-earth this was taking so long. It wasn't as if the whole army had to go filing over that tiny, thin brdge into the Elven city, just all the oficers and commanders and what-not. The rest would camp around the outskirts of Imladris...... somehow..... Cyrano was fully aware of the location of the Elven refuge and also knew that it would be rather hard to have who knows how many Men on outskirts of a city that was perched on the side of a valley. So, he imagined, that they would probably end up waiting around there for quite some time.
(((Hope that's okay, Kait!! Tell me if you want anything changed!)))

While he was waiting for the army, Xanatos decided to buy some weapons. He walked into the Forge. There was a man working on some weapons. Xanatos walked up to him. "Give me some sharpe pointy knives! I'm going to fight orcs, HAHAHA!" he said with his insane way of talking.

*Erthadan raised an eyebrow at the elf in front of him... He had never seen any elf act in such a way... His voice was quiet but stern as he went back to pounding on the metal.* "Sorry but for some reason, I just don't trust you with sharp objects..."

"I already have a sharp object see?" He pulled out a dagger that was very sharp. It could leave a nice big mark in metal. "Gimie some knives! And some arrows for my bow! I have enough to pay!" Xanatos said in his excited voice.

*Erthadan paused once again. This guy either had a really twisted sense of humor or was absolutely nuts. Still, if he hadn't killed all of Imladris with the weapons he did have, Erthadan didn't see how more would hurt. Sighing, Erthadan quickly finished up what he was doing before taking out the different arrows and knives he had to sell and setting them out for the he-elf to look at.*

Erthadan eventually did as Xanatos asked a pulled out some knives and arrows. "Hmm...how about...these three pointy knives and twenty arrows. Must join up with elf/human army and kill some orcies with long pointy knives, ya know? How 'bout you?" he asked curiously.

*Erthadan put away the arrows and knives except for what the elf had chosen.* "Um... Yes... Me too... Eventually. Anyway, that will be ten silver pieces and one silver penny." ((I just love the price guides and money conversion charts in my LOTR role playing book. lol. ))

"Yes, that will do," he said. Xanatos pulled out ten silver pieces and one silver penny. "Here you are." Xanatos grabbed the arrows and put them in his quiver and then the knives. "If you planning on joining the battle it might be a good idea to get ready. The orcie butt-kicking squad is almost here."

Patience, as you will find out, was not one of the qualities that Cyrano happened to posses, which could supposedly be a bad thing considering the situation. One everyone in the various companies of the King's army had gotten situated, tents erected, horses tied, and whatever other odd jobs needed to be done, Cyrano took it upon himself to do a little exploring of the Elven city. It was probably ordered that the men stay in camps, but neither of the guards seemed to much care as he walked past them and started along the path up to Imladris. (((I'm just kind of assuming that it'd be impractical to have the whole army of Arnor march into the city, which is why just the officers would go, get briefings and report back to the men. I don't even think the whole army could FIT in Rivendell..... Sound good?)))

*Erthadan shrugged lightly, pocketing the coins.* "It's not as though we'll be leaving any time soon." *He turned and went back to working on the sword, still talking.* "It's going to take a while before we have enough weapons, armor, soldiers, and proper plans."

"You mean we're not ready yet? Shouldn't we already have equipment before we get a whole army ready and send them here? I thought it was just going to be a thing where the army comes and we unite, then are on the journey to Mordor right away," said Xanatos.

*Erthadan shook his head lightly.* "Unfortunately, it's not that easy. It will take time to make sure that we're prepared for the armies of Mordor. Training, the best weapons and armor, gathering provisions and supplies for the journey... It won't be easy to do. But it's necessary. We cannot fail."

Eldae sat on a bench in Imladris, leaning back against a wall and singing softly. All around him, he heard the sounds of war. Not of battle, it was true, but of approaching war. It sorrowed him, but he knew that it was necessary. Indeed, they could not afford to lose the coming war, for their own sakes as well as that of the world. Above the sounds of preparation, he heard footsteps. Not the hurried gait of those running from place to place, but the slow, measured pace of one with patience. Beginning a different song, he waited for the walker to pass by.
