*Naurwen laughed softly, shaking her head.* "That's all right. I don't want any. Now stop teasing each other for five seconds and eat." *She rose from her position by the fire, stretching a little. She made her way over to Rhovan who was looking quite restless. She gently rubbed his nose as she whispered something into his ear. She chuckled slightly as the horse gladly ran off.* "I'm a poor influence on that horse..." *She leaned against a tree, staring into the east as the sun began to rise.*

Artos ate in silence, his memories of his marriage (shudders) flooding back, and a scowl on his face, *d**n Camille,* he thought.

Hart quickly ate his food, ravenous, as usual. That was another thing he was quite well known for; his appetite. He quickly cleaned his plate and looked around. so much for sleep, Hart shrugged.
'Uhm... so, my lady, wouldn;t you prefer to test our abilities against one another when we're both fully rested? I mean, considering I have'nt slept since last night,' he grinned, in an attempt to turn on the charm and weasle his way out of a race he would have lost anyway. Or at least manage to put it off until later. Mental preparation for deafeat took quite a bit of work, at least for him at any rate.

*Naurwen grinned slightly, stepping toward Hart. Poor man... She almost felt sorry for him.* "Then sleep now, mellon nin..."

Artos chuckled a bit, and stared at Hart, " of course you'll need all the rest you can get for your race. Good night Hart." he gave a small wave, and chuckled.

Raising an eyebrow, Hart walked to the opposite side of their little camp area, keeping an eye on Artos the whole time. As if it isn't bad enough he knows something I don't, now he gets to see me lose a race, probably something I have not done since I was a child. He rolled his eyes and sighed before asking, 'You didn't want to set out early, or anything for Rivendell, though. I can go without sleep if it disturbs your plans. It's only one day after all, I've gone much longer but that's just a frightening sight. If you think I'm bad now, you should see me when I go without sleep.' Hart grinned at the thought of himself in such a state. it indeed wasn't a pretty sight, and wasn't exactly an experience Hart would jump to repeat again.

*Naurwen shook her head with a warm smile.* "Sleep, Hart. I hadn't planned on leaving until much later, perhaps even tomorrow. But we'll see how things turn out."

'Oh, good,' Hart sighed with relief. He curled up by a tree with a sigh and wrapped his crimson cape around himself before quickly falling asleep.

Artos bid Hart a good night and then stared at the fire. Giving a small sigh, he stoked the fire, and staring at the flames, Artos went deep into thought.

*Naurwen lay down on her side by the fire, propping herself up on one arm. She glanced over at the sleeping Hart and shook her head slightly, looking to Artos.* "I feel like a mother or a wife watching after you two. Mending wounds, cooking, telling you when to sleep..." *She laughed a little, staring into the flames in front of her.* "I'm not used to it but it's almost fun telling you both what to do. It's a shame I've never married. I might actually fit the role of nagging wife."

Artos winced noticeably, "No, I don't think you could be a nagging wife, I should know...I had one," he grimaced, "you're much too kind for that. no, I'd say if you got married, you'd actually care about the well-being of your husband, and any other family you had." he threw his stick into the fire and scowled, " d**n Camille..."

*Naurwen lifted her blue eyes to look at him again.* "Was she honestly that bad...? I mean... Why would you marry someone like that...?"

Artos stared back at her, "yes it was that bad, I was forced to marry her, when I was nine, my parents actually paid hers into an arranged marriage, and when I was 19, we were married. I hated her all my life, and when we were told we'd one day be wed, she told everybody, and I'd say "I would never marry you, not if my life depended on it" I got slapped for that one day, but I kept hope that I wouldn't, but then the day came, and we got married, she made my life awful, working constantly to give her everything, we were constantly fighting, unless we were infront of others, and the sad thing was, instead of being told to sleep on the couch, I went of my own free will. god, she always wanted more than she had! she was selfish, and rude, and deceitful! but no, I had the most beautiful woman in the town, some said..." he glared at the fire, "I hated those ppl the most, but barely anyone knew, I had to keep Camille happy so that I could stay sane for another day, so I pretended that everything was great..."

*Naurwen lowered her gaze again, brushing her hair out of her face.* "I'm sorry... I didn't realize... I mean... I hope I never make a man feel that way... Then again, it's likely to happen... I mean, I care nothing for possessions like your Camille... But still... I'm rather... difficult. It's funny how we females can drive men insane without even realizing or caring..." *She couldn't help but wonder what her fault was... What had she done to make men turn away for thousands of years? Could she be just as bad as Camille? She sighed softly, closing her eyes.*

'......being told to sleep on the couch, I went of my own free will. god, she always wanted more than she had! she was selfish, and rude, and deceitful! but no......'
Hart jerked in his sleep and opened his eyes a little to see Artos staring into the fire and Naurwen lying near by. The image really didn't register at the moment because he was too busy curling up in his cape more. Hart rolled over of with a soft sigh and pulled his cape over his head, wishing Artos would go be furious somewhere else.
