Artos nodded towards Hart, "Ah yes, milady, he is correct, you know that it would be very boring right now if neither of us had come along, but it would also be a bit more peaceful...Hart." he directed at, Hart obviously, smiling widely now, "You have no need to know everything about me, so I see no reason as to inform you about what you don't know, and there's no way I'm gonna tell you." Artos childishly stuck his tongue out at Hart, and laughed a bit.

*Naurwen grinned at the two men.* "Ai... You may be good for a laugh... But you're also like little children. You're both going to wear me out before it's all over with. Now sit down and behave or I might have to punish you." *She smirked slightly, her bright blue eyes glinting playfully in the light of the fire.*

Hart just stared at Naurwen for a moment before suddenly doubling over with laughter. 'Ah, you'd have to catch me first, my lady,' he retrned Naurwen's smirk, 'However, you Artos would be in quite a lot trouble with that shoulder of yours,' He grinned at his friend before taking a seat by the fire again. 'But I imagine, Naurwen, being the courteous person that she is would let you have a little head start.' Hart shook his head at the thought before muttering to himself, 'Though I very much doubt that would help him.'

*It was Naurwen's turn to laugh now, her smirk widening considerably.* "You'd both be in a good bit of trouble. The only one in this camp that can outrun me is Rhovan over there and that's only because he has four legs. Besides... I'm not quite as 'courteous' as you might think, my dear Hart." *She turned her gaze away from them both with a dangerous grin, removing the cooked meat from the fire and allowing it to cool a little.*

'No I do not believe i could outrun your horse, but now I am inclined to ask: is that a challenge, my lady?' Hart grinned, being, as he was, quite confident in himself and his abilities as running seemed to be a common and often re-ocurring theme in his 'occupation.'

"No I do not believe I could outrun your horse, but now I am inclined to ask: is that a challenge, my lady?"
*Naurwen slowly lifted her gaze to him, her eyes glinting with mischief and excitement...* "Only if you're foolish enough to take me up on it... Keep in mind, sir... I am of the elven kind... I'm lighter, leaner, and older than you... Besides that, I have yet to meet anyone who could best me in a race, elf or man."

Artos smiled broadly as he heard Hart talk so confidently. True, Hart could outrun everybody in the village, save for the horses, but it was highly unlikely he could best an elf. "I say you race him Naurwen, and get him to shut up once and for all with all the bragging he does about being so fast, this will do him some good. But please, go easy on him, the fact that he doesn't know something has annoyed him, and may hinder his abilities a bit." Artos stared at them a bit, and then suddenly started laughing uncontrollably, "li-like you'd even have a ch-chance Hart." he got his laughter under control and sat by the fire, staring at them and smiling, occasionally letting out a small chuckle.

((Ish! I leave fer 5 days and you guys fill up FIVE pages....without me...not fair! *pouts*))
Liödaìn reined in her mare, Bel Bel with a loud "Whoa there Bel!" right in front of the door. She looked back with a smug grin at Liya as she trotted by her side with a sour expression on her face.
Liödaìn dismounted saying, "Admit it now Liya. Bel Bel's one of the finest racing horses in Middle Earth. She's one quite a many races...even in Rohan." Liya rolled her eyes as she led Storm into the stables. "Fine fine. I admit it." She didn't stop to talk as both ladies stepped inside the small but cosy house. "But i'm telling you that Storm and me have a better chance at winning the race than you and Bel Bel. Its a race over the wild country....not a marked out circle." Liödaìn narrowed her eyes as if in insult, "I wouldn't be cocky either. Storm's a petite horse while Bel is more hefty."
Liya shook her head as she picked up a small parchment that lay on the table. Liödaìn was heading to the rooms, holding three bags, asking as she went by, "Whats that you have there?" Liya shrugged as she opened it. "Dunno....I...." She trailed off when she read the contents of the letter. Liödaìn came back and raised an eyebrow when Liya handed her the parchment.
She scowled deeply as Liya shrugged helplessly as if saying Well I didn't know that the village was going to be burnt down to nothing. Liödaìn tossed the parchment into the fireplace as she said, "We came all the way from Dale and Mirkwood to stay there and then this happens!" Liya sat down in the nearby chair, "Now Liödaìn, do not get so upset. Who could have foreseen this?"
((I'll figure out along the way how both parties meet...))

(((Welcome back, Sweety!!! Sorry, we're just a little uhm... 'eager' over here... ))) Hart scowled at the both of them, although, in truth, he wasn't all that sure of himself anymore. But that had never stopped him before. 'I don't brag, Artos, it's simply inviting others to share in my joy. I don't need any advantages that come through pity and that just shows how little you know about me: I work best in situations when emotions run high, thank you very much. I'm not foolish,' he said turning to Naurwen, 'just too d**n proud to let anyone get away with calling me that. So, my lady, I am afraid I have been backed into a corner, and either way I will come out with my pride injured. I will race you, and I will lose, but I will do it gracefully,' Hart glanced at Artos pointedly. 'And that is what counts,' he grinned. After all, good sportsmanship was what counted.

*Naurwen grinned and shook her head slightly, quite surprised by this mortal.* "I admire you for that, sir... But I won't go easy on you because of it. Who knows? You might prove to be a fair challenge. Let us eat first and when the sun has risen and there's enough light for you to see by, we will race."

Artos laughed again, and stared at them, "speaking of dawn, how long should that be? I've completely lost track of time." he tossed a nearby twig into the fire, "I'm not even exactly sure of the day." he stared a bit then shrugged, 'oh well" sighed Artos.

*Naurwen smiled as she divided up the rabbit meat between the two men.* "Well, the day I can't help you with... But dawn's not far off." *She nodded to the east where a pale light was starting to shine.*

Artos smile gratefully, for the food and the update on the time. "thank you, maybe when I meet someone again more civilized than Hart, " Artos quickly laughed, " I can learn the date." he smiled a bit, and started eating a bit.

'That's also very rude. And I know the date, which only serves to prove that I am more civilized than you,' Hart teased. 'Oh, and by the way, it's also inconsiderate to begin eating before the ladies present do,' he added as an afterthought. Hart grinned and glanced at Artos, glad that he was, at least for now, in a better mood. Yawning, Hart looked at the sky. The eastern horizon was, indeed, beginning to grow light.

Artos shrugged a bit, "You know I was never one for manners, not unless Camille yelled at me for not using them," he shuddered a bit, "my dad was right, he used to say, 'if the women ain't happy, then nobody's happy.' how right he was." he shuddered again, and scowled slightly at his memory of Camille.
