'Injured?' Hart's head snapped up from his work so he could look at his friend, lying opposite them by the fire.
'He was injured?' Hart couldn't believe he hadn't noticed, he was usually so observant. thinking about it, though he did realize that Artos had seemed to move just a little stiffly, careful not to move his shoulder too much. 'Hmm... hadn't noticed,' he muttered, more to himself, than anyone else, and for no reason in particular. 'It was good of you to help him. Good for him, in more ways than you know.' Hart was, of course, referring to Artos's bitter streak, the one that had been showing up more and more often as of late.

Artos continued listening, thinking, *what does Hart mean by that?* he was slightly confused, but decided not to dwel on it.

"It was good of you to help him. Good for him, in more ways than you know."
*Naurwen sighed softly and shook her head.* "He needs much better help than I can offer... I'm taking him to Rivendell soon for proper healing... Hopefully there he shall find some rest..."

Artos mentally sighed. *More resting, *he thought. *as if I hadb't rested enough, now I can go to Rivendell and rest my physical and mental self. Hooray* he thought sarcastically. *Oh well, Naurwen and Hart are just trying to help. I should try to listen to them.*

Hart sighed, Rivendell, of course. Well, guess that leaves me to find another place to live.... Ahh well, I never really expected anything to come of this little meeting anyway. I haven't been up to Fornost in a while, perhaps I'll visit there next..... He looked up suddenly, realizing tht Naurwen had said a little more after he had drifted off into thought.
'Hmm? Oh, rest, right,' Hart glanced at Artos,' maybe if he would actually sleep he wouldn't need anymore rest,' he sighed and shook his head. Artos was stubborn as the day was long, and if he didn't intend on sleeping, then there was no way anyone was gonna make him. 'You might as well sit up and actually join the conversation, Artos, rather than just listening in,' he flashed a crooked smile at Naurwen. All he was probably going to end up succeeding in was irritating the both of them. Naurwen, after all, was the one who had told him to sleep, and Artos, well, judging by the last words he had spoken, Hart guessed that Artos could get annoyed by pretty much anything these days. He needs to lighten up. I can't just sit here and let grief consume him. Hart sighed at his own thoughts, It's not like there's much I can do, though. Soon he and Naurwen will be off to Rivendell and I'll be gone up to thr northwest. Even if I were to stay around... hmm... there has to be some way to show Artos that there are other things out there, and that what happened was just part of life. We can't control what happens to us, no one can. It just depends on where you are at what time.

*Naurwen sensed that Hart had something on his mind and so she watched him in silence for a moment... Perhaps Artos wasn't the only one that needed some time in Rivendell... And Naurwen would have a hard time tending to Artos on her own. Still, she wasn't sure that she should trust so many people with a visit to her home... But what could two men do? She tried not to answer that question, shaking her head slightly as she made up her mind. She spoke softly, hoping that Artos wouldn't hear.* "You know... You're welcome to come with us... It will be difficult to tend to him on my own..." *She gave him a warm and friendly smile to show him that she meant it...*

Rivendell? ...with the Elves? Hart suddenly laughed, what a picture that would make!
'Beg pardon, my lady, but I do not think I would....blend so well among your kind. I don't even fit very well among my own, and we Men know of the strict morals the Elves uphold. No offence meant, my lady,' he added hastily. 'If you insist, however, I would be happy to accompany you.' More than happy... he thought, returning her smile.

*Naurwen laughed a little, shaking her head.* "If it's my people that you worry about, then you have nothing to fear. I tend to avoid my kin almost as much as a mortal. I spend most of my time in the wilderness so I'm not close to anyone in Imladris save for the Lady Anorel. I'm too rebellious to spend all of my time obeying rules." *She gave him a slight grin.* "Through me, you and Artos are now friends of the First Born and you shall be my guests for a few days in Imladris. And don't worry, I'll protect you from those stiff elves that you fear so much." *She winked at him with a soft laugh.*

'Fear?' Hart asked, wrinkling his nose at the thought. 'I think not. But they are rather stiff. You have even said so yourself. But know, what do you intend on doing with these?' He gestured to the rabbit, stripped of all fur and fat.
'I mean cook them obviously, but how? And do you think we should wake Artos, or let him sleep until we are ready to eat and make him clean the dishes?' Hart laughed.

*Naurwen laughed softly.* "Knowing you men, he'll wake up as soon as he smells food cooking." *She gave him a grin before looking at the rabbit meat.* "Normally I'd throw these two in a stew but I'm all out of vegetables. So how would you and Artos enjoy them most?"

Artos rolled onto his back, " I don't personally care, let Hart decide."he sighed. "..Well Hart you were right, I was, of course, never asleep. Pardon me for listening to your conversation." Artos crossed his arms on his chest, and gave a small, almost unnoticeable grin, "seems you know me too well Hart, but there's one thing you shall never know..." then Artos whispered, "just give me some time to think of it." *I've done enough to spoil everybody's mood, I should atleast TRY to be as cheerful as I can. It'll be like the days with Camille* Artos scowled at the thought of his past marriage, but quickly caught himself and the scowl dissappeared and was replaced with the small grin again.

'Huh? What's that? What don't I know? Tell me,' Hart scrambled to the other side of the fire and poked Artos.
'Oh, and you may choose if you want, Naurwen. As long as it's cooked I'll eat it.' He added, rather distracted now. 'And stop grinning, just because you know something I don't. You know how that drives me mad, Artos.'

Artos stood and grinned, "No,it's nothing, you wouldn't be interested." He walkeda round the fire, so that Hart couldn't see what he did next. He mouthed the words 'He really knows everything I know.' and then laughed a bit. Turning to Hart, Artos smiled even wider, "It's nothing that would interest you, so don't freak out or anything."

*Naurwen grinned at their antics, shaking her head.* "Men..." *She listened to them in silence as she gathered what seasonings she had left. She laughed at Artos' message to her, shooting a glance at the frustrated Hart. She set about cutting and preparing the meat, thinking about how long it would take to reach Rivendell with three people and only one horse. Rhovan could easily carry the two men and Naurwen was fast enough and strong enough to keep up by running with them. However, she was afraid to take Artos at a fast pace. On the one hand, the wound could reopen and start bleeding again. On the other hand, she wanted to get him to Rivendell as quickly as possible so that he could get healed faster... She sighed and shook off the thoughts. There would be time to decide such things later. To keep her mind off of things, Naurwen hummed lightly to herself, a habit she had picked up from Anorel, and sat by the fire cooking the rabbit meat.*

'Ah, my dear friend, but you wouldn't know whether or not I am interested until you tell me. And just for future refernce it's very rude to assume things,' Hart crossed his arms in frustration. He was supposed to know everything! That's just the way it was, and it always had been. Ah well, I'll wring it out of him somehow..... he thought with a devious grin and a glance towards Artos. Hart thought of asking what had put him in such a good mood all of the sudden, his better instincts told him not to, and so, he decided against it.
'And what's wrong with men? I think we're fine the way we are. I mean, you must admit that you could never get along without us. You said it yourself, my lady, we're good for a laugh.'
