*Maeria gazed up in wonder at the White City. She somehow didn't remember it being so big... Surely there would be no place for her and her son... She glanced at the child that rested on her hip. Suddenly she wasn't so sure about this...* "What do you think? Should we give it a try?" *The boy laughed and clapped his hands together excitedly, making Maeria focus harder on holding him.* "All right, all right... I suppose I don't have much of a choice." *She smiled warmly before glancing back toward the gates... Here goes nothing...
Once she was inside the city, Maeria didn't quite know where to go... She had only been to Minas Tirith once before and had only been trying to find her uncle then... Now she was planning on living here. She felt so out of place with all of the majesty around her... She knew she must look pathetic in her faded dress and worn shoes although she had taken great care to clean her clothes and face before arriving. She held Andorion close to her as she made her way down the street, looking for someone that might be able to help her find a place to stay.*

Angelus Dramm didn't know what he should do. Here he was stuck in a predicament of his life and for once, he was forced to accept the harsh truth and there was nothing....absoloutely nothing which could save him...
His wife was adamant on taking him with her while she was shopping and it had been futile to make feeble excuses which she brushed away the same way she swept the floors. He sighed as she shifted the packages in his arms and thought sorely, "How did I get roped into this?" A tiny voice answered, "You offered to help out yourself as your wife is with child." to which Angelus had to smile.
He would never admit it out loud but he loved to see his wife bustle around. Even more now that she was with his child. Five months along, he thought her more beautiful than when he had met her. He didn't notice as he nearly crashed into another women and he hastily excused himself as she did. His dark eyes quickly took in her apperance and expression and asked kindly, "May I help you miss? You seem slightly lost...."

"May I help you miss? You seem slightly lost...."
*Maeria, lowered her head, holding Andorion even closer to her. She felt quite awkward and intimidated but still she was determined to get the information she needed. Reluctantly, she lifted her head again to look at the strange man.* "Actually, I am... I only just arrived in the city... I don't mean to take up too much of your time, sir, but would you happen to know of any place where I could work? Or even a place that might offer me shelter and food in exchange for labor?"

Angelus's eyes softened as noticed how she clung to her child as he were her most precious possesion. Before he could offer to help, his wife came back to his side and asked in her soft lit voice, "May we help you milady?" She listened as the lady repeated her words and a full blown smile bloomed on her face.
"What a coincedence! I was telling my husband that I was looking for a women who would be kind enough to work with us while I am with child. We would be more than pleased to have you with us." She looked up at her husband and asked, "May she Angelus?" Angelus smiled back, "Of course Lizzie.", then to Maeria, "I would shake your hand but as you can see they are slightly full....May we go home now Lizzie?" He added with a note of desperation in his voice which both women picked up and smiled at.

*Maeria's lips formed the widest smile that had shown in a long time. Not only was this couple some of the nicest people she had met but they had offered her a job... A place for her and her son to stay... A chance at giving her son a better life. She couldn't help but laugh a little in her joy as she glanced at Andorion. The baby, sensing his mother's happiness, giggled as well, squirming excitedly. Maeria looked back to the couple.* "Thank you so much. I promise I'll work hard to help you in any way I can. My name is Maeria and this is my son Andorion."
((Can you guess who I named Andorion in honor of, Sweety? Heh.))

Angelus smiled back, "Pleased to make your accquiantance Maeria and Andorian. I am Angelus Dramm. And this is my wife Elizabeth." Who immediatly piped up, "But you can call me Lizzie. Everyone does." Angelus bit back an udible sigh of relief as they made their way back to their home. He didn't think that he was capable of holding anything else. The baby gurggled as he saw Angelus trying to walk, balance and not hit anyone as they neared the house. As Angelus went to deposit the parcels into the kitchen, Elizabeth led Maeria into a small room. "You can stay in this room. I fear that it is a bit small but it has a nice view towards the West." ((You're worse than I am K Thats all I can say!))

"You can stay in this room. I fear that it is a bit small but it has a nice view towards the West." *Maeria smiled warmly, her eyes roaming over the room.* "It's perfect." *Andorion gave a nearly toothless grin and clapped his hands. Maeria laughed a little.* "Andorion agrees." *She carefully removed her small pack from her shoulder, holding onto Andorion tightly for fear that he might wiggle loose while she held him with only one arm.* "I really can't thank you enough, my lady. You can't possibly understand how much this means to me... To us..." ((What can I say? I miss the guy. He was a good friend to have around. I swear... This little baby acts just like my little brother did. How did that happen? ))

Elizabeth merely raised a hand to silence her, "There is really no need. It would be my pleasure to have you with us."
She smiled at Andorian as he gave her a gummy smile. She looked up at Angelus as he peeked in, "I was wonderin Maeria, Lizzie. I have one more place to visit and if you ladies want me to pick anything up for dinner?"
Lizzie smiled slightly, "As Maeria has joined us today. We shall have a fine dinner tonight! If you would please bring some chicken home? We have everything else." Angelus kissed his wife's cheek, picked up his cloak and silently went out of the house. "Lets go to the kitchen. We may as well atleast cut the vegetables...Where did you come from to the White City?"

*Maeria gently set Andorion down on the bed in the room, deciding that he would most likely be getting tired soon enough and couldn't really hurt himself in the room.* "Well... I've been busy traveling the past few years, my lady. But for the sake of keeping my answer short I shall say Bree. Definitely no place so grand as this..." *She quietly followed Elizabeth into the kitchen, prepared to work at whatever was asked of her.*

Lizzie pulled out a wooden chopping board and placed it on the thick oak table as she replied while toddling around the kitchen, "I would be inclinded to agree with you but I have spent all my life here. I would dearly love to see the far away lands...Would you please tell me about Bree?"

"I would be inclinded to agree with you but I have spent all my life here. I would dearly love to see the far away lands...Would you please tell me about Bree?"
*Maeria couldn't help but smile at how ironic it was. Those who stayed in one place longed for different lands and those who were forced to travel wanted to stay in one place.* "Certainly, if you wish it, my lady. Not much to speak of though. The people aren't as elegant as they are here... The streets are usually rough and busy. You rarely see anyone but men and shire-folk but it's good to see the two races living in harmony. The homes are all made of stone but aren't as beautiful as the structures here in the White City. The favorite place of most everyone is the inn of the Prancing Pony. It is the best place for gossip and you can always find someone new to talk to. I stayed there quite a few nights last time I was living in Bree. And when I couldn't afford a room, Mr. Barliman, the owner, would sometimes let me stay in the stables. Nice man, that one. Nicer than most of the people I met in Bree. I think you're much better off living here, my lady. Bree may be where I grew up but I don't think there are as many opportunities there. And if you ever do wish to visit, I suggest that you be in good health and take horses." *She shook her head to get rid of thoughts of her own journey back and forth from Bree. She was surprised that she was already talking so much since she had only just met this woman. Still, she didn't really regret it. She just hoped that she wasn't bothering her new employer. She fell silent for a moment as she helped Elizabeth with the vegetables. However, she felt the need to ask at least a few questions.* "Forgive me for prying, my lady... But how long have you been with child? Will this be your first?"

Lizzie's mind made a mental picture as Maeria spoke of Bree with fondness. But a smile crossed her lips when she asked a bit hesitantly, "Forgive me for prying, my lady... But how long have you been with child? Will this be your first?"
"That would not be prying. And please, call me Lizzie. I am about five months along. And this will be my first child" She fairly glowed with happiness as she said, "We are hoping that it will be a girl. But I think that Angelus would love to have a son." She bit her lip slightly before continuing in a slightly hshed tone, "I never told Angelus this but...I am slightly fearful of having this child....I am so afraid that I won't be a good mother. How can one deal with that?"

*Maeria couldn't help but smile, lowering her head a little.* "It's not easy... I can tell you that much. But I suppose that you should take a look around you. I don't know you well but you just took a total stranger in off the streets and offered her and her son a better life. That sounds like the work of a kind and loving person. I'd expect you to show the same love and caring in every aspect of your life... especially the raising of your own child. And even if you fail in that at times, which I highly doubt you will, you have a husband that is just as kind to help keep you on the right path. Not to mention, you both seem perfectly able to support this child with a proper home, food, and clothing. So in my opinion, you have a better chance of getting it right than getting it wrong." *She lifted her head a little to give Lizzie a warm smile.* "And if you're still unsure, you have a nine month old baby in your house now... I won't be able to be with him at all times so you have plenty of opportunities to practice."

Lizzie chuckled at the last part and smiled as Angelus came into the room, with a satisfied smile on his face. "It seems to me that the Inn must be coming along fine." She turned to Maeria to explain, "Angelus has always wanted to start his own Inn. He is part owner of a new Inn. Perhaps you saw it on your way in?I beleive the name was....something to do with stars or white..."
Angelus frowned slightly at his wife, "Neither beloved. We are thinking of calling it the "Homely Inn". Unless we get a better suggestion."

*Maeria smiled softly at the couple.* "It certainly sounds like a wonderful dream come true. I'm afraid I didn't notice it but I'm sure I'll have plenty of opportunities to visit in the future." *Maeria hesitated a moment before speaking again.* "Forgive me but I'll have to excuse myself for a moment. I just want to make sure Andorion's not getting himself into trouble." *She stopped what she was doing and left the room in a bit of a hurry. She poked her head into the room that was now hers, immediately spotting her son asleep on the bed where she had left him. She smiled softly before turning away, making her way back into the kitchen.* "So, what else needs to be done, my la-- I mean... Lizzie?"
